"Star Wars: The Clone Wars" lives up to its title by placing a lot of focus on the clone troopers themselves. Some of the characters, like Commander Cody and Commander Bly, were inherited from the "Star Wars" prequel films. The show used the idea that clones had nicknames (instead of only serial numbers) and ran with it, creating many other clones -- including Captain Rex -- with custom names and armor to convey individuality.
One of the more striking clone looks is Commander Doom, who appears only briefly in the "Clone Wars" season 6 premiere "The Unknown." That name isn't an accident; the "Star Wars" website confirms that the creators named Doom after Marvel Comics villain Doctor Victor Von Doom. While Commander Doom gets too little screen time to see if he has the ego of his namesake, the creators used Doctor Doom's design to color his armor.

Marvel Comics released the first issue of Blood Hunt last Wednesday, with the event's opening chapter revealing how the vampire invasion of Earth begins.
With the world's Darkforce users being turned into portals which have blocked out the sun across the globe, vampires emerge from the shadows, feeding on humans and turning countless others.
The Avengers also found themselves outmatched and outgunned, with Black Panther and Thor both killed in a battle with a group of ultra-vampires known as the Bloodcoven.
In the issue's closing moments, Doctor Strange discovers a spell which will kill every vampire on Earth. It means eliminating some of his friends, but it's a sacrifice he's willing to make if it saves the planet.
Blade shows up and recaps what's happened, including the fact a vampire cult known as "The Structure" has enacted a plan which will allow them to finally make the world their own.

Bruce Timm will always be the artist who gave the most definitive version of Batman to generations of DC fans. He was the head producer behind Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill’s iconic Batman: The Animated Series. Over the years, he oversaw several DC animated projects, but his first project will always remain dear to him. When asked to name his favorite episode from the series, Timm’s thoughts immediately went to the very first episode, On Leather Wings.
Bruce Timm’s Batman: The Animated Series
This episode was originally aired on Fox Network in the United States on September 6, 1992. Timm went out of his way to bring mystery, mood, and drama to this superhero series that was primarily targeted at a younger audience.

During the early days of entertainment when superhero films and TV shows were starting to transition into critical success, Warner Bros. with the Dcau decided to push Batman as the torchbearer for the future of animated series in the franchise.
After the success of Batman: The Animated Series, the cinematic universe decided to expand on the lore of the masked vigilante with their 1999 series Batman Beyond.

The Dcau has very rarely disappointed fans. With the perfect balance of fan service, good storytelling, and experimentation, the vastness of DC’s animated universe is truly amazing. Having been going strong, long before live-action adaptations of these works began, these projects have acted as the only source of light in these dark times in the superhero world.

Written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross, DC Comics Kingdom Come was published in 1996 under the Elseworlds imprint. Alex Ross developed the concept from the original idea and painted the comic book in gouache, which has been appreciated by ardent comic book fans. DC Animated Universe veteran Bruce Timm also appreciates Alex Ross’ concept for the comic book.
Set in an alternate future of the DC Universe, Kingdom Come’s story takes the readers into a time when the Justice League team and the new-generation superheroes are fighting each other to determine the future of the planet. The limited series was reportedly written as an indictment against the growing trend of violent anti-hero archetypes that sprung out in the early 1990s. Bruce Timm explained in detail why the comic book couldn’t be adapted for an animated movie.

Comic books make up the bulk of pop culture literature today. And what makes them special is their gorgeous art that gives wings to our imagination. In the history of DC and Marvel comics, very few artists have gone on to receive legendary status. Alex Ross is definitely one of them, whose works in both industry powerhouses are nothing short of dreams coming to reality.

Though Ross has given life to numerous comics and novels during his career, his collaboration with Mark Waid in the 1996 miniseries Kingdom Come completely blew the minds of comic book enthusiasts. The debate over “Who is the better Superman?” is one that has been raging for as long as one can remember. Ever since David Corenswet was officially announced as the replacement for Henry Cavill in the iconic role in James Gunn’s version of the DC Universe, fans have been conflicted about who the better one is.
(L-r): Henry Cavill and David Corenswet
While this debate is yet to be sorted out with a final answer, there have been quite some additions to this debate. Like the most recent raging one about whose symbol is better between the two hotshots, one of whose is from the SnyderVerse, while the other is from Gunn’s universe. And this time, most fans seem to have the final answer.

As the new year kicks off, we’re getting a fresh cinematic universe based on DC characters – the Dcu. The Dceu wrapped up with ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ doing okay, but let’s be honest, most of its movies didn’t do great. That’s why Gunn and Safran were brought in to lead the new Dcu, promising lots of new projects. Among these, ‘Superman’ is getting the most buzz, setting the stage for the Dcu even though ‘Creature Commandos’ will come out first.

1986 was an important year for DC Comics. "Crisis on Infinite Earths" rebooted the decades-old continuity, and Frank Miller reinvigorated Batman with "The Dark Knight Returns." Miller's tale depicted an aged Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement to fight the evils of the 1980s, from street gangs to the Cold War to Ronald Reagan. If you've ever wondered what the beginning of dark and gritty Batman was, it was this book.
The next year, DC was relaunching the main "Batman" title for the "Post-Crisis" era, and Miller was the obvious choice to kick it off. The result was "Year One," running four issues from "Batman" #404-407. The book follows Bruce Wayne's early days as a crime fighter when Gotham City was menaced by the mob, not super-villains. Batman refines his tactics through trial and error and slowly wins the trust of James Gordon — not yet a commissioner, but a rare...
