The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting bigger and bigger. Apart from Marvel’s first family making it into the universe, the fan-favorite X-Men, too, have finally made it to superhero verse. After Beau DeMayo’s X-Men ’97 showed how well Marvel is capable of handling the team, the prospects of the mutants making it to live-action have certainly garnered enough attention and excitement from fans.
After X-Men ’97, Marvel fans can hardly wait for X-Men’s live-action debut | Marvel Animation
This has resulted in fans making several casting suggestions and promoting various actors for different roles. And among the many actors being promoted by fans, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has become a popular choice for Jean Grey. Yet not all Marvel fans agree on it and feel she might be too young to lead such a titular character.

Shawn Levy recently opened up about his experience starring in Taylor Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film.
The director played Swift’s father in the 14-minute music video for her hit song, “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).” He starred opposite Sadie Sink, who portrayed Swift, and Dylan O’Brien, as a boyfriend she dated when she was in her early 20s. Levy explained his four daughters are between the ages of 12 and 24, and the Grammy-winning artist has been “their only shared idol.”
“When she asked me to be in the video for ‘All Too Well,’ and I was able to bring all four daughters to be in that video with me, I got dad cred for life,” Levy told People. Maxine Mayfield, commonly known as Max in Stranger Things and played by Sadie Sink, quickly rose to prominence with her fiery spirit, mysterious vibe, grumpy nature, and intriguing story arc. Played with both grit and grace by Sink, Max became more than just a new face in Hawkins. She initially had a step-brother named Billy (William Hargrove), who became an antagonist in the show. Starting with her brother, then Lucas Sinclair having a crush on her, her eventually becoming a part of the gang, and Max’s friendship with Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown), the dynamic...

The fourth season of "Stranger Things" was the definition of overstuffed; with multiple genres and settings and a sprawling cast of characters, the show stretched the boundaries of epic storytelling almost beyond its limitations. With more than a year of retrospect, some season 4 plotlines are forgettable, while others are still lodged firmly in our hearts and minds.
But no plot was as universally embraced as Max's, the heartbreaking depression storyline that put actor Sadie Sink's name in award show contention and catapulted Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)" back up the charts. Max entered season 4 feeling broken, plagued by grief and survivor's guilt over her brother Billy's (Dacre Montgomery) death. In the fourth episode's emotional climax, she faced off against a hallucinated version of Billy possessed by the monster Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), and it was the most powerful moment of the season if not the entire series.

Joe Keery is already having bittersweet feelings toward the “Stranger Things” series finale.
The actor told Wwd that while he’s ready for the hit Netflix show to wrap up, it “won’t be easy” to say goodbye to the series as a whole.
“It does feel like it’s time,” he said, adding, “it won’t be easy for it to end. I owe my whole career to being on that show, and all the opportunities that I had since are because of that show, so it’s very convoluted. There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness.”
“Stranger Things” premiered in 2016 and is set to wrap up with the fifth and final season. Keery noted that he has had to emotionally prepare to walk away from the show while getting ready to film the final episodes.

Of all of the young actors to break through thanks to the success of "Stranger Things," Sadie Sink has had arguably one of the most interesting career trajectories. Sink got her start on Broadway playing the titular role of "Annie," and had a handful of TV appearances on shows like "The Americans" and "Blue Bloods" before nabbing a main role in "American Odyssey." Unfortunately, that show only lasted one season, canceled by NBC only two days after the season finale. When Sink was cast as Max Mayfield on "Stranger Things" in season 2, she immediately became a fan favorite. Max has become the bleeding heart of the series, and her popularity even prevented show creators, The Duffer Brothers, from killing off the character in season 4 as originally planned.
Following "Stranger Things," Sink has continued to thrive by starring in "Fear Street: 1978," Taylor Swift's short film, "All Too Well," Darren Aronofsky's "The Whale,...

“I like to do a lot of character prep and development and sort of live in character,” explains Dacre Montgomery of his acting process. The breakout “Stranger Things” star made a surprise return to the hit Netflix series in Season 4 despite his character Billy being killed in the previous season. His appearance was brief, but it provided the actor with a unique filming opportunity and the chance to put a final touch on a role that means a great deal to him. “It’s a culmination of hundreds of hours of work and really living in character in many ways,” says Montgomery. In 2001, the first two episodes of HBO's World War II miniseries, "Band of Brothers," aired just two days before the September 11 terrorist attacks, an event that would irrevocably alter America and its perception of its own war history, much of which it has mythologized on film. However, when creators Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks set out to adapt Stephen E. Ambrose's nonfiction book, "Band of Brothers," they wanted their follow-up to "Saving Private Ryan" to have the ring of historical authenticity.
On "Saving Private Ryan," Hanks had already found himself channeling his character, Captain Miller, when other members of the cast threatened to quit before filming even started. The experience of being forced to go "method" and attend a rigorous boot camp, led by the senior military advisor and real-life Marine veteran Dale Dye, left some of them wanting to bow out.

Darren Aronofsky is a fascinating filmmaker. From his impressive feature film directorial debut, Pi, to his many intriguing creations, including Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan, and Mother!. His latest, The Whale, is a profound and moving story, one that hasn’t left me thoughts since my first viewing a few weeks back. The film stars Brendan Fraser in one of the year’s best performances. It also features an exceptional group of talent, Sadie Sink, Ty Simpkins, Hong Chau, and Samantha Morton. We recently sat down with Fraser and the crew to talk about the film, and it was a wonderful experience.

From director Darren Aronofsky comes “The Whale,” an A24 film flooded with emotion, based on the play first written by Samuel D. Hunter, which debuted onstage back in 2012. The film is adapted from Hunter’s script, set in 2017, and follows a 600-lb. self-isolating English teacher (Brendan Fraser) who still believes in optimism and the good for which his daughter Elli (Sadie Sink) is destined.
The character study of Charlie, the instructor for online college classes cuts straight to the core, shedding layers of humanity and revealing the tricky dynamics between Fraser’s character, that of Sink’s and many more. Charlie knows his death is near, because not only is he overweight, but he also has congestive heart failure, which his nurse friend Liz (Hong Chau) monitors for him.
With Fraser garnering serious Oscar buzz for his transformative performance, many may be wondering how to watch “The Whale.” All your questions answered below.

Sadie Sink had a strange first encounter with Brendan Fraser, mainly because she had no idea who the “Whale” actor was.
“I met Brendan for the first time about a year before the movie started filming,” Sink told Insider. “I didn’t know who he was. I was unfamiliar with his work, but I was just like, ‘Hey, nice to meet you.'”
The “Stranger Things” star first met Fraser during a table read for “The Whale.” Sink plays Fraser’s estranged daughter in the film adapted from Samuel D. Hunter’s play of the same name.

If you think you're a big fan of Sadie Sink's performance in season four of "Stranger Things," you need to get in line behind one person: her "The Whale" costar Brendan Fraser. Sink, Fraser, and their castmate Hong Chau speak to Popsugar about the movie, their bond, and Sink's huge year.
"I saw this one stare down a really scary monster called Vecna," Fraser says excitedly when "Stranger Things" comes up. "She went on to [film that] right after we finished 'The Whale,' and for the beautiful rage that she plays in 'The Whale,' Vecna did not stand a chance." He laughs and proudly adds, "It was gorgeous."
But Sink admits that she's still processing people's love for Max in season four. Sink joined the show in season two and confesses she still sometimes feels like the odd one out. "I really wasn't expecting that, especially coming on as a new character,...

Sadie Sink has revealed that she really disliked one key aspect of her Stranger Things character Max Mayfield.
In the hit Netflix series, Max is known for getting about on her trusty skateboard – a skill that Sink had to learn before shooting.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (6 November), the 20-year-old actor said that the Duffy brothers (the show’s creators) sent a skateboard to her house the day after she got the role.
Sadly, skating didn’t come naturally to Sink: “I had no idea how to do it. I really didn’t like it because the first day I took a pretty hard fall and that just set a bad tone for the entire journey.”
The actor also revealed that she lied to the producers about knowing how to rollerblade. Asked if she told the Duffys that she knew how to skateboard, Sink replied: “No, but I said I had rollerblading experience,...

By now, you've no doubt seen Sadie Sink on your screen. You might recognize the Texas native from her popular role as Max Mayfield in the hit Netflix sci-fi series "Stranger Things" but that's far from her only project. Since her early start in Hollywood, Sink has appeared in popular TV shows like "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," films like "The Glass Castle," and even Taylor Swift's "All Too Well: The Short Film."
The young actor shows no signs of slowing down. She's appeared in two films this upcoming year, including the drama "Dear Zoe" and "The Whale," alongside "The Mummy" actor Brendan Fraser, who praised her acting chops in "The Whale" in a November interview with GQ. "The fluidity that Sadie plays, this beautiful, controlled rage, was breathtaking to me," he said. "I was constantly going up on my lines. And that's just because I have cobwebs upstairs and I...

It would have been cool to catch Brendan Fraser right after he stood in the Venice Film Festival audience and wept during a raucous standing ovation for Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale.” He’s talked about it a lot in the last three months.
“It started off as being choked up,” he said on a recent Zoom call with IndieWire. “I was bowled over. I did not anticipate this small film, shot in a two-bedroom apartment set, with its five characters in search of salvation, to resonate with an international audience, to translate that way. The emotional reality of ‘The Whale’ plays so much more in the pauses and what’s in between the spoken dialogue as much as what is spoken. And that’s a testament to Darren Aronofsky’s directing.”
But what people are talking about is Fraser’s guileless, sad-eyed performance.
He cried again at a Toronto International Film Festival awards tribute.

When “Stranger Things 4” debuted on Netflix earlier this year, it seemed like no one could stop praising Sadie Sink. The 20-year-old actress – who has played a major part in the show since its second season in 2017 – was hailed as the Season 4 “Mvp,” received chatter as a potential Emmy Award nominee, and even left costars in awe of her talent. “Sadie is like Liv Ullmann,” “Stranger Things” actress Winona Ryder said back in May. “She’s going to be like Meryl Streep.”
But it wasn’t a trip to the Upside Down that put Sink in a position to score such acclaim. Rather, it was her time spent on the set of “The Whale,” Darren Aronofsky’s new emotional drama. Sink shot the film – which has garnered standing ovations around the globe and put lead actor Brendan Fraser in the thick of the Best Actor race – before starting her work on...

The Whale is an outstanding film. The latest from Darren Aronofsky is based on a powerful play by writer, Samuel D. Hunter, and it is a profound and moving work. The feature also gives us a brilliant and unforgettable performance from Brendan Fraser (who we love) as a recluse hiding away from the world due to his weight. Not only does it feature his impressive work, the film also stars Sadie Sink, Ty Simpkins, and Hong Chau, exploring characters all struggling to get by in their own personal ways. It’s a force of a film, one that leaves an indelible impression on the viewer. And yes, all the Academy Award talk about Fraser’s performance is on point. He is absolutely stunning.
Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to speak with Fraser, Sink, Hunter, and Chau. First up, I sat down with Sadie and Hong. Firstly, I had to...

Brendan Fraser, whose performance in “The Whale” has left audiences around the world in tears so far this year, has said that being cast in the drama by Darren Aronofsky was maybe a matter of perfect timing. “[Darren] said he wanted an actor to reintroduce,” Fraser said in an interview over the summer. “And I wanted to be reintroduced.”
Speaking now, however, with “The Whale” on the doorstep of its release, Fraser tells Gold Derby in an exclusive video interview that his interest in the role was about so much more than just a comeback story.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the film features Fraser as a 600-pound man named Charlie, who has steadily turned into a recluse. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink plays Charlie’s daughter, Ellie, with whom he’s trying to rebuild a relationship.
Ahead of the film opening in cinemas next year, limited images have been made available to fans.
The release of the trailer on Tuesday (8 November) gives the wider public the first opportunity to see the cast in action.
During the minute-long clip, Fraser as Charlie can be seen looking wistfully at a bird outside of his window, while he sits still inside his dark house.
Elsewhere, we get a shot of Sink with an emotional facial expression, as well as Hong Chau as Liz, Charlie’s best friend and carer.

It's been a few months since season 4 of the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things" debuted and had us all binge-watching 13 hours in one sitting, but we still can't stop talking about how our faves threw down with Vecna and mostly lived to tell the tale. Season 4 was jam-packed with great scenes, high stakes, kickin' tunes, and plenty of scary adventures, but Sadie Sink's Max Mayfield was the Mvp of it all. The character was first introduced in the second season and has since become one of the most beloved members of the Party, the fandom name for Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), and later Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).

In 1999, Brendan Fraser became a big star thanks to "The Mummy." The actor had more than a few roles before that blockbuster, but it was the "Indiana Jones"-inspired adventure that truly launched him to superstardom. And it was easy to see why: he was a hunky guy with a chiseled jaw, but he was also a goofball — the perfect combination of tough and cute. He was easily likable, and he had some chops, too — before "The Mummy," the actor gave a great dramatic turn in Bill Condon's 1998 film "Gods and Monsters." But while Fraser continued to work steadily, his roles never quite matched the charm of "The Mummy."
And then he left us. The actor kept working off and on, but he put his career on pause following a series of issues — he had to undergo several surgeries due to performing stunts (including a partial knee replacement), he got divorced,...

There was a major absence at the 2022 Emmy Awards on Sept. 12: the cast of "Stranger Things." Sadie Sink, Millie Bobby Brown, Natalia Dyer, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, and the rest of the Hawkins gang totally skipped the red carpet and ceremony even though the show was nominated for outstanding drama series. Here's what we know about why they decided to skip television's biggest night.
"Stranger Things" season four was nominated for 13 awards this year, but the entire cast ended up being snubbed in the acting categories. Fans were outraged, especially when it came to the powerhouse performances of Sink, Brown, and Caleb McLaughlin. "Stranger Things" executive producer Shawn Levy even addressed the snubs on the Emmys red carpet, telling E! News they were "ridiculous and unjust."

While at the Toronto International Film Festival for the movie, Fraser, along with writer Samuel D. Hunter and his fellow cast members Sadie Sink and Ty Simpkins, spoke with Variety about taking on the difficult role of a 600-pound man, which required up to four hours of prosthetics and makeup.

[Warnings: The below contains spoilers for the “Stranger Things 4” finale.]
Seems like Millie Bobby Brown may finally get her wish: There might have been one less “Stranger Things” teen heading into the fifth and final season.
Ross Duffer revealed on the “Stranger Things After Show” that originally Max Mayfield, played by Sadie Sink, was supposed to be killed off by the end of “Stranger Things 4.” While Max (Sink) does appear to die briefly before Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) revives her, the showrunners teased that Max may not be out of the clear just yet since the original ending was supposed to have Max dying by the hands of Vecna.
“It was discussed as a possibility,” Ross Duffer explained about Sink getting the boot. “For a while, that is what was going to happen. But we ended up in this… We wanted to end it with a little more of a question at the end of the season.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you haven’t watched “The Piggyback,” the final episode of “Stranger Things 4,” now streaming on Netflix.
Season 4 of “Stranger Things” ends on the show’s most bittersweet note yet, with the crew barely managing to scrape together a (seemingly temporary) victory against main villain Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in their quest to save Hawkins, Ind. from the Upside Down. Over the course of the epic two-and-a-half hour finale, many of the characters go through hell during their multi-step plan to kill Vecna, with Eddie (Joseph Quinn) dying a heroic death, and Steve (Joe Keery), Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Robin (Maya Hawke) nearly being choked to death by the vines of the Upside Down.
Even in a particularly grim finale, Lucas’ (Caleb McLaughlin) storyline stands out as one of the most grueling. Assigned to protect his ex-girlfriend Max (Sadie Sink) as she willingly offers herself...
