“Dancing with the Stars” Season 32 is back and it’s a bit different Season 31 — including having a new (old) home. Here’s everything to know about the season.
Where is “Dancing with the Stars” Season 32 airing?
ABC and Disney+. That’s right. After one season exclusively on Disney+, “Dancing” returned to ABC for Season 32, which will also stream live on Disney+. It is the first series to be simulcast on ABC and Disney+. Episodes will also be available the next day on Hulu.
“I’m very happy we’re back on ABC,” Derek Hough told TV Insider in June. “I think it was fantastic that we moved to Disney+ for a season. It did great, but I think that there’s definitely [still] an audience on ABC, a very loyal audience that may have missed out on last season. It’s groundbreaking in that I’ll be on both platforms as the same time.

Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the Dancing With the Stars Season 32.] The ballroom turned into a fun fiesta for “Latin Night” on Dancing with the Stars. After Veep star Matt Walsh and his pro-Koko Iwasaki were sent home during the premiere, the remaining 13 couples were tasked to learn routines that celebrated Latin heritage. Hours before showtime, it was announced that Charity Lawson‘s pro partner Artem Chigvintsev tested positive for Covid and had to sit out the show. Dance troupe member Ezra stepped in as partner with The Bachelorette. Helping set the tone for the evening was a caliente dance routine to the sounds of Rosalia’s “Despechá”, choreographed by pros Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov. Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Toniolli, and Derek Hough then gave their critiques and scores. Unfortunately, the party was over for another star. Combining the judges’ scores with viewer voting, Julianne Hough...

The pro dancer urges the ‘DWTS’ judges to rewatch their cha-cha after getting the boot during the season 32 premiere.
“Dancing With the Stars” kicked off season 32 on Tuesday night with a number of stellar first performances — and a few performances that seemed to leave the judges a little cold. Unfortunately for comic actor Matt Walsh and his pro partner, Koko Iwasaki, their cha-cha didn’t quite make the grade.
On Wednesday, Iwasaki sat down with Et’s Kevin Frazier, and the talented dancer opened up about her and Walsh’s week 1 elimination, lackluster scores, and why she feels the judges didn’t give the performance a fair appraisal.
“I’m really bummed, you know? Quite disappointed, to be honest,” she said of their ousting. “But at the end of the day, this experience with Matt, we went through so much in the last few weeks, and I wouldn’t have changed it for the world.

Dancing With the Stars season 32 kicked off spectacularly with a new cast of celebrities (and one new pro) who put their best foot forward in the ballroom. However, at the end of the episode, one celebrity was sent home after just one dance. Fans called foul on Matt Walsh’s elimination, looking for “justice” and calling it “unfair.”
‘DWTS’ fans fired up after Matt Walsh and pro-Koko Iwasaki were sent home during episode 1
The premiere episode of DWTS season 32 displayed a range of talent from the newly-minted celebrity competitors. With only three weeks to learn the basics of ballroom dance and its techniques, it was a race to the finish to master their routines before the first live show of the season.

*Caution: Spoilers Ahead
“Dancing With the Stars” returned to ABC on Tuesday for the Season 32 premiere, and 14 new stars teamed up with beloved pro partners to bring their best to the ballroom.
The first week of competition can always be a challenge for the couples to find their footing — but, as usual, some celebs shined bright as standout talents, while others stumbled hard.
After two hours of debut dances, it was up to America to vote on who deserved to perform once more next week, and whose time was already up.
In the end — through a combination of judges scores and audience votes — two couples were determined to be in jeopardy: Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater, as well as Matt Walsh and Koko Iwasaki.

For the love of jive, look what’s back on ABC!
For a minute, it didn’t look as if the mirror ball would return home on time. The ongoing strike and the preponderance of picketers had the network flirting with the possibility of postponing tonight’s season 32 premiere of Dancing with the Stars. But a deal was finally hammered out on Sunday and earlier this evening, the WGA declared the strike would officially end at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. What better way to celebrate than watching a bunch of celebs break out in dance?
But before the competition can begin, the cast paid tribute to the late Len Goodman — who now has a Mirror Ball trophy named after him! Goodman, DWTS‘ former head judge, died in April at 78.
Take it away, Alfonso Ribeiro!

“Dancing With the Stars” Season 32 kicked off right on schedule on Tuesday night, with all 15 couples, even temporary holdout actor Matt Walsh, hitting the dance floor for the first time.
“Bachelorette” star Charity Lawson and partner Artem Chigvintsev earned the highest score of the evening for their Tango, which judge Bruno Tonioli proclaimed to be “exquisite,” while Carrie Ann Inaba said it was “stunning,” especially for Week 1.
Charity took the lead from singer Jason Mraz, whose Cha-Cha-Cha with Daniella Karagacha to his own song, “I Feel Like Dancing,” prompted Bruno to dub him “the one to watch.” Jason, who claimed his higher-than-average dancing skills were due to an “extra vertebra,” earned a “7” from each judge.
After the audience votes were added, “Rhobh” star Mauricio Umansky and “Veep” star Matt Walsh were in the bottom two. Matt’s “non-traditional” Cha-Cha-Cha with partner Koko Iwasaki received a “4,” from each judge, a decision the audience booed.

“Dancing with the Stars” is back on ABC and some things just stay the same: if a celebrity has a song or is associated with a song, they will likely perform to it for their first dance.
ABC has unveiled the 14 dance styles and songs for Tuesday’s Season 32 premiere, and would you be shocked to learn that Jason Mraz is dancing the cha-cha to one of his own songs? And that the song is “I Feel Like Dancing”? Similarly, Barry Williams will perform a foxtrot to “It’s a Sunshine Day” by The Brady Bunch. Gotta get these outta the way. Mraz is one of six stars who will make their “Dancing” debut with the cha-cha. Williams, however, is the only one doing the foxtrot. Four couples have the tango, Two have the salsa and one has the jive.

“Dancing with the Stars” Season 32 will premiere as scheduled on Tuesday after a tentative deal was reached between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on Sunday, ABC confirmed Monday. In addition, “Veep” star Matt Walsh is returning to the cast.
The show’s premiere, which is set for Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+, was put in doubt after the series was picketed last week due to its status as a WGA signatory with one union writer. Because of that, Walsh, a WGA member, dropped out on Thursday.
“With the hopeful resolution and vote with the WGA, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ would no longer be a struck show therefore all cast would be able to return. This includes WGA member Matt Walsh,” the actor’s rep said in a statement to our sister site Deadline.

Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev are expectedly bummed about their elimination on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars,” especially because they were hoping for a more positive response from the judges.
“I poured my heart out there tonight and didn’t really get the reaction from the judges that I was expecting,” D’Amelio told Page Six after the show. “So I’m going to try not to let that shut me down again.”
D’Amelio and Chigvintsev were the first couple axed during the double elimination on ’90s Night. Then, faced with saving either Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater or Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki, the judges opted to end the journey for the Jersey Shore star. TV Insider was on the post-show red carpet to chat with the two sets of dancers who have completed their quest for mirror ball gold. “I had a blast,” D’Amelio said and did her best to sound upbeat even though she was clearly sad to be leaving the dance competition series. “It was great, a once in a lifetime experience. “This past weekend, we lost Aaron Carter,” cohost Tyra Banks said at the top of Monday’s night show, remembering the pop star and Season 9 contestant who was found dead on Saturday at age 34. “The team here at ‘Dancing With the Stars’ recalls the energy and the fun that he brought to his show, to this ballroom and we offer our sincere condolences to his family.”
The eight remaining couples danced to hits from the ’90s on Monday, with live performances from Salt-n-Pepa, En Vogue, Vanilla Ice, and Kid ‘N Play.
After their individual dances, there was a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard between Charli D’Amelio, Gabby Windey and Wayne Brady, while a bonus Relay Dance round left only Charli and Wayne tied for first.

It’s getting down to the end on “Dancing With the Stars,” as two pairs were sent home on Monday night.
For ’90s night, all of the duos performed to hit songs from the decade, with Wayne Brady, Charli D’Amelio and Gabby Windy all earning perfect scores.
One of the most powerful routines of the night was a jazz performance by Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart to Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence.” Everyone was emotional, including Derek Hough who choked back tears as he told the pair, “That was so insanely powerful. It made me realize how much I depend on the music. So to share that experience, that was impactful.”
Afterward, Stewart noted that it was a “profound moment” for her to be part of the partnership with Durant and dancing without music allowed them to connect even further. The routine earned the duo their first 10s, and...

“Dancing with the Stars” is reminding us all that we’re very old by turning back the clock for ’90s Night on Monday, but the more important number is two because there will be a double elimination.
The final eight will perform twice — an individual routine and a relay dance — to classic ’90s jams. During the latter, they’ll be backed by live performances by Salt-n-Pepa, En Vogue, Vanilla Ice and Kid ‘N Play. Salt-n-Pepa and En Vogue will also perform “Whatta Man” during the show. And by the end of the night, two pairs will bid adieu, advancing the final six to the semifinals on Nov. 14.

Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas: tango (“Song 2” by Blur)

“Dancing with the Stars'” Halloween Night scared up some fun routines, but one moment was more awkward than anything else. As Carrie Ann Inaba delivered her critique of Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki‘s paso doble, she stopped herself and said, “I hear a little boo. Is that Emma [Slater]? Why do I feel like that’s Emma? Emma, I know it’s you! It’s Ok, I love you.” She then jokingly threatened, “Have you danced yet? No, just kidding,” eliciting “ooohs” from the audience and leading Guadagnino to ask, “What is happening here?”
Good question. It was, in fact, Slater who was booing, and this is something she apparently does all the time. “I’m a massive cheerer, but I’m a massive boo-er as well because it’s TV and that’s the name of the game,” Slater told Parade after Monday’s show. “I like to support...

The remaining nine couples channeled classic horror characters for Halloween, which saw Shangela “snapping” partner Gleb Savchenko’s neck in the final move of their creepy doll Jazz routine. The number earned them their first perfect score of the season.
Len Goodman, who was dressed as a vampire, said the routine “scared the pants off of me” after Bruno Tonioli dubbed Shangela “the psycho killer queen of the night,” raving, “you make the Bride of Chucky look like a saint.”
The dancers later formed two teams as “Team Wicked” and “Team Scream” for a group number that changed the standings on the evening’s leaderboard: Trevor Donovan, who feared he’d be in the bottom two for the second time, tied for first place with frontrunner Charli D’Amelio after Team Scream’s murder-mystery routine earned 39 points...

Everyone was in the Halloween spirit this week on Dancing With the Stars.
Not only did the contestants give some of their spookiest performances, but even the judges got into the holiday, dressing in their best costumes as they doled out healthy doses of praise and critique for each of the remaining nine couples.
And it wouldn’t be Halloween without resident trickster Sasha Farber trying to frighten the couples during rehearsal. He snuck up behind some during their interviews and dropped fake spiders into the rehearsal rooms, but the pranks fell mostly flat.
In addition to their individual routines, the couples also participated in two group performances to compete for extra points to keep them out of the bottom two.

“Dancing With the Stars” pro Val Chmerkovskiy will miss Monday night’s Halloween episode, he shared on Friday after revealing he has Covid.
“I’ve got some bad news, I unfortunately tested positive for Covid and will not be able to perform this Monday,” said Chmerkovskiy in a video posted to Instagram. “But the good thing is that Gabby [Windey] tested negative so we’re still in [the competition].” He also noted in the comments that his pregnant wife, Jenna Johnson, has also tested negative.
Alan Bersten, who was eliminated with partner Jessie James Decker last week, will step in for Val for a Halloween-themed Argentinian tango.

It’s going to be that kind of season, isn’t it? “Dancing with the Stars” has one celeb who judge Derek Hough called the people’s champion since he has been safe every week on the strength of viewer votes despite consistently low judges’ scores: “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino. He was safe from the bottom two again on “Michael Buble Night” despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard, so country singer Jessie James Decker ended up eliminated instead. But while he has lots of fans among the viewing public, most of our readers think he’s starting to wear out his welcome. Scroll down to see our complete poll results.
Guadagnino performed a cha cha and was visibly disappointed with his performance, which went so awry that Len Goodman called it “a mess.” It seemed to pain the judges to give him 7s across the board; it...

Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki had far from their best dance on “Dancing with the Stars'” Michel Bublé Night on Monday as the “Jersey Shore” star flubbed a few steps in their cha-cha, leading to head judge Len Goodman calling the routine “a mess.”
“I did [think] that it was a little harsh. I thought that was harsh,” Iwasaki told Us Weekly of the critique by Goodman, who’s been tough on the pair from the beginning.
Guadagnino knows he messed up, to which he owned up during the episode as well. “I know that, I’m not denying that at all,” he said. “So, however he wants to judge that, he can. I’m happy that we recovered and kept going [because] it was still a fire dance, you know? And we’ve done it so many times, start to finish, obviously.”
The pair received fairer remarks from the other judges,...

Every once in a while, the stars calendar aligns and Halloween falls on a Monday, so “Dancing with the Stars” can have a proper Halloween Night celebration.
That is the case on Week 7 as the remaining nine couples get to don their spookiest costumes to treat us to some tricks on the dance floor. This week will also see the return of team dances for the first time in three years. But with nine couples, it’ll be an uneven 5-4 split into Team Wicked and Team Scream. And no, Charli and Heidi D’Amelio are not on the same team.
See the full lineup below:
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson: contemporary (“Halloween Theme” by District 78)
Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas: Argentine tango (“Tanguera” by Fabio Hager Sexteto)
Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev: tango (“I Wanna Be Your Slave” by Måneskin)
Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater:...

(Spoiler Alert: This article reveals the team that was sent home on Monday, Oct. 24)
All 10 remaining couples danced exclusively to songs by Michael Bublé on Monday night, who also subbed in as a very generous guest judge. The pop vocalist also performed “Sway” and “Higher,” to which Derek Hough choreographed a sexy film-noir performance.
But the highlight of the night was Shangela, who channeled Lady Gaga at the Oscars as she and partner Gleb Savchenko tangoed to “Hollywood.” With so many comments throughout the competition about keeping her legs “crispy,” she surprised judge Len Goodman with a fried chicken breast she’d kept in her cleavage, then presented a surprised Tyra Banks with another. Goodman pronounced the dance “finger-licking good” and her best of the season so far.

It’s another Let’s Promote Michael Bublé night on Dancing with the Stars. Look at the sultry songster open the show with a bunch of sequin-clad ladies shaking their booties around the boffo Bublé! It’s a repeat visit for the Canadian crooner: he performed in seasons 9 and 16 while couples have danced to his songbook oodles of times over the years. Why not do it one more time, but on Disney+?
And since you’re here, Mr. Bublé, can you help out the judges, too? The show would be happy to talk up your latest album Higher!
Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki. The Jersey Shore star knows he’s been trending on the bottom of the leaderboard (did Joseph Baena really need to go home before him?) He tried to get a confidence boost by calling his mom, who regaled him with stories about visiting Home Depot and having...

“Dancing with the Stars” hasn’t met Michael Bublé Night yet, but that will change on Monday when the show will dedicate an entire episode to the crooner.
The top 10 will perform to tunes from Bublé’s catalogue while the singer will also serve as a guest judge and open the show with a performance of “Sway,” backed by a number choreographed by Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy. You can thank Derek Hough for the theme week as the judge, a longtime friend of the Grammy winner, pitched the idea to producers. Hough will also perform his now seasonal routine during the episode to Bublé’s “Higher” — the video for which Hough directed — featuring his fiancée Hayley Erbert.
See the full lineup below:
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson: quickstep (“I Get a Kick Out of You”)
Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas: foxtrot (“Fever”)
Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev:...
