Exclusive: Flying Scotsman stars Fiennes in the unofficial sequel to Chariots Of Fire.
Us-based Archstone Distribution is in town talking up the drama On Wings Of Eagles starring Joseph Fiennes as ‘Flying Scotsman’ Eric Liddell.
The drama charts the adult life of the athlete and devout Christian and is styled as an unofficial sequel to 1981 Oscar-winner Chariots Of Fire.
Liddell was born in 1902 in China to Scottish missionaries and became a gifted sportsman who represented his country at rugby and competed in the 1924 Olympics in Paris.
He won the 400m gold medal at the Games after he refused to compete in the 100m heats because they took place on a Sunday.
A year later Liddell returned to work as a missionary teacher in China and died in a Japanese civilian internment camp in 1945.

I’ve been looking forward to Axe Giant: The Wrath of Paul Bunyan ever since I first heard about it, and it won’t be too much longer until we all get a chance to see what happens when a great American tall tale gets a monstrous slasher makeover.
Is it correct to call it a slasher? If the killer’s preferred instrument of death is an axe and the killer in question is a giant lumberjack, then wouldn’t it be more appropriate to call it a hacker? Eh, I’m over-thinking this.
Gary Jones, the director Boogeyman 3, Spiders (the 2000 version not the new one) and Mosquito, brings us this dark, contemporary take on the tall tale of lumberjack Paul Bunyan. It's true, I don't know if you've heard the story, but it's true…every time an indie film gets distro an angel gets its wings…or maybe it's a Hellspawn gets its chains…one or the other. Regardless, the important news here is that the award-winning brutal biker film, Dear God No!, has grabbed a distribution deal with Archstone Distribution.
Written and directed by James Bickert, Dear God No! had a great run at film festivals last year and looks to continue that success with this distribution deal with Archstone (the fine people who also distroed Machete and both Human Centipede films). The movie stars Jett Bryant, Madeline Brumby, Olivia Lacroix, Paul McComiskey, John Collins, Shane Morton, Nick Morgan, Rusty Stache, Jim Sligh, Billy Ratliff, Johnny McGowen, John Collins, Heath Street, Rachelle Lynn, Nick Hood and Jim Stacy. Check out the website at the DearGodNoMovie.com and check them out on Facebook.
