How many of you live your lives based on the constant anxiety of the question “what will people say”? Because that’s basically what Steve Chambers did and look where it got him. We are talking about the season finale of Cruel Summer, and assuming you are only here after watching it, you know what I am talking about. I knew it would be futile to predict what was going to happen in the end because Cruel Summer was always going to surprise us. But we went ahead because it was way too much fun, and in the end, I am glad that the show threw most of our wild theories in the trash and gave us something entirely unimaginable. Let us take a closer look one last time.

There is going to be a lot of overreaching. That’s the only way we can actually do this. Yes, we are talking about Cruel Summer season 2 here. The show dangled its central mystery before us in the opening episode of the season, but even after six episodes, we can’t exactly say that we have any clear idea about what happened. However, that is not going to stop us from forming theories about how Luke, aka the male lead character of this season, died. For this article, I scratched my own head a lot as well as scoured the fan pages of the show on Reddit. What you are going to read is the outcome of that. To make things simpler, I am going to separate the characters and discuss their individual motives behind killing Luke or speculate about their possible involvement in his death somehow. There is a possibility that in four weeks,...

Sadie Stanley and Griffin Gluck in ‘Cruel Summer’ season 2 episode 1 (Freeform/Justine Yeung)
Although season one of Freeform’s Cruel Summer ended with a cliffhanger, season two focuses on new characters and a brand-new storyline. Season two episode one starts off much like the first season’s opening, with typing appearing on an older computer screen that reads, “The events that are about to unfold take place on or around July 16th, 1999, December 15th, 1999, and July 16th, 2000.”
The action begins in the summer of 1999 with Megan (Sadie Stanley) and her mom, Debbie Landry (KaDee Strickland), talking about someone named Isabella coming to stay with them. Megan doesn’t seem pleased, but her mom thinks it would be good for her to have a female friendship.
Fast forward to the winter of 1999 – and just 15 days until Y2K – and Isabella Larue (Lexi Underwood) returns home to give Megan good news. Megan...

It's been 10 years since "Private Practice" came to an end, but we have some good news for fans of the Oceanside Wellness crew: there's a mini reunion, of sorts, headed to Freeform. "Cruel Summer" is officially returning for season two on June 5, featuring a brand new storyline and fresh cast that will reunite KaDee Strickland ("Private Practice"'s Charlotte King), Paul Adelstein (Cooper Freedman), and Griffin Gluck (Mason Warner). As a refresher, Gluck played Adelstein's son on the show, and Strickland was Adelstein's wife and Gluck's stepmom. In "Cruel Summer," however, Strickland portrays Sadie Stanley's mom, Debbie Landry, while Gluck once again plays Adelstein's son, Luke Chambers.
Of reuniting with Adelstein and Gluck, Strickland tells Popsugar, "The three of us were so obnoxious in the beginning because we were reliving everything around everyone." Strickland reveals the crew put up a "really sweet image" of Adelstein and Gluck from their...

"Cruel Summer" Season 2 Is Full of Twists and Turns: "[Fans Will] Be Really Surprised by the Ending"
Nothing is quite as it seems in season two of "Cruel Summer." Freeform's breakout anthology series officially returns this summer with a new mystery and a fresh cast led by "Little Fires Everywhere" star Lexi Underwood, Disney's Sadie Stanley, and "Locke & Key"'s Griffin Gluck. Set in a small Pacific Northwest town, the second installment centers on a complicated love triangle between friends Megan Landry (Stanley), Isabella Larue (Underwood), and Luke Chambers (Gluck) and a mysterious incident that changes their lives forever.
"I don't want to spoil anything, but the mystery is going to be very hard to move on from," Stanley tells Popsugar. "The events that happen are life-changing. The stakes are really high this season." Though it follows a completely new storyline, similar to the first season, the second chapter is told through three different timelines surrounding Y2K, which is part of what drew Stanley...
