Donald Sterling, the owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, may have been caught making racist remarks in a private conversation that was recorded.
Did Donald Sterling Make Racist Comments?
Sterling, reportedly talking to a woman named V. Stiviano, took issue with her Instagram posts in which she was posing beside NBA veteran Magic Johnson, according to TMZ. The recording was apparently from a conversation that occurred earlier this month.
“It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people,” the voice, which allegedly belongs to Sterling, can be heard saying in the recording. “I’m just saying, in your … Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.”
“Don’t put him on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me,” Sterling allegedly added. “And don’t bring him to my games.

In the wake of Scott Sterling's death, the media is clamoring for news to report about the man's controversial father, Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
And so it is that Deadspin reports on a decades-old disciplinary incident that apparently took place in the Sterling home. The site republished a letter from a reporter who covered the team back in the late 1980s. In the letter, the reporter recounts being told by former Clipper Danny Manning about a situation wherein Sterling allegedly forced his then 7-year-old son to get naked in front of dinner guests before spanking the child's bare behind.
Scott's death was reported as an apparent drug overdose, and the press was quick to point out the younger Sterling's past run-in with the law. Scott was accused of shooting his childhood friend at the age of 19, and it was alleged Scott's father used intimidation tactics and well-placed connections to get...

A week ago, this question would have been much easier to answer. Without a championship ring under his belt, LeBron James is merely an explosive all-round forward, a physical specimen and a great player. That is not to say that such a description isn’t impressive, but in the history of NBA many have been considered “great.”
With a ring under his belt however, LeBron James has vaulted himself onto a list of some of the greatest NBA players of all time. Many will argue that he isn’t quite there yet, and that is debatable, but no one can argue that his dominating performances throughout the 2011-2012 playoffs didn’t give him an extraordinary boox.
To begin, it would be advantageous to list players that are definitely above LeBron James. Also, I apologize in advance if certain legends are omitted, but due to the sheer number of greats, it...

The Hurt Locker and Up in the Air were the night's big winners on the film side while Mad Men, 30 Rock and Modern Family took home the winged trophy for achievements on the small screen at the annual Writers Guild Awards, held Saturday in Los Angeles. While accepting one of two awards for Modern Family, creator/executive producer Steve Levitan told the crowd that because TV was "so screwed up and mismanaged," many of his writing peers have been rooting for the single-camera comedy's success on ABC. "Thanks for that, Jeff Zucker," Levitan said -- a reference to the NBC Universal...

Basketball great Michael Jordan fought back tears on Friday night when he was inducted into the sport's Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The sporting legend was honoured at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for his success on the court during his 15-year career, in which he won 10 championship titles with the Chicago Bulls.
During an emotional acceptance speech, Jordan insisted that despite his icon status among fans of the sport, he does not consider himself to be the greatest.
He said, "When people say I was the greatest ever, I cringe a little. I never played against Jerry West, Elgin Baylor or Wilt Chamberlain. To say I'm better than those people is not for me to decide."
Jordan officially retired from the NBA in 2003.

American basketball legend Elgin Baylor has filed suit against an insurance company over a dispute regarding roof repairs on his Los Angeles mansion.
The retired sports icon's Beverly Hills home was battered by a "violent rainstorm" in February 2008, which caused a bad leak in his roof that damaged several rooms in the house.
He claimed insurance for the leak and was granted a payout from the firm, which has not been named.
Baylor alleges investigators at the company contacted him months later wanting to run tests on the roof - but the builder they hired reportedly caused more damage to the home, according to TMZ.com.
In legal papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, Baylor claims insurers "failed to repair damages from the testing, leaving holes and openings in the structure".
The row remained unresolved in February 2009, when a new storm led to further damage to Baylor's home.
He's suing executives at the insurance company and the builder involved for unspecified damages.
