Hans-Christian Ströbele(1939-2022)
Abitur in Marl/Westphalia. Studied law and political science in Heidelberg and at the Free University of Berlin, legal clerkship in Berlin. Military service in the Air Force in Aurich, reserve gunner.
Since 1969 lawyer in Berlin, 10 years "Socialist Lawyers' Collective", 30 years defense counsel in political criminal proceedings.
Involvement in the student movement at the end of the 1960s. 1970 to 1974 member of the SPD; involved in the founding of the "Alternative List for Democracy and Environmental Protection," later state association of the Greens in Berlin, member of the Alternative List since 1985, for a time spokesman on the federal executive committee and in the state association Die Grünen.
Member of the Bundestag from 1985 to 1987 and since 1998; October 2002 to October 2005 deputy parliamentary group chairman and coordinator of the working group III Democracy, Law and Social Policy of the parliamentary group BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN.
