As the star (and an executive producer) of the Hannah Swensen mystery movies, Alison Sweeney is used to baking sweet treats while also solving unsavory crime.
But for One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery (premiering Friday, April 5 at 9/8c on Hallmark Mystery fka Hallmark Movies & Mysteries), Sweeney decided to cook up the script as well — and fold in former co-star and fellow Days of Our Lives alum Victor Webster, as icing on the cake.

Amazing news for Hallmark fans! Last month, Alison Sweeney, Days of Our Lives (Dool) alum (Sami Brady) was back to work with the channel, filming a new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries flick, One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.
In addition, it was announced that her past co-star, Cameron Mathison (General Hospital’s Drew Cain), would not be returning to the franchise.
Still, it was said that Dool alum, actor Victor Webster (ex-Nickolas Alamain) would be taking his place. Now, an official premiere date has been revealed.

Faye Webster, the War on Drugs, and David Byrne and Devo have contributed tracks to the second Noise for Now benefit compilation, which will raise money for independent abortion providers across the country via the Keep Our Clinics campaign.
The album announcement pointedly coincides with the return of abortion rights to the Supreme Court today, March 26. The court will hear arguments for a case regarding the availability and accessibility of mifepristone, an Fda-approved drug that’s frequently used in abortions. If the Court rolls back Fda regulations on the drug,...

Released soon after the end of the Great Depression and on the precipice of America’s entry into World War II, William Dieterle’s All That Money Can Buy is a peculiar and fascinating blend of the populist agitprop of the 1930s and the patriotic hokum that defined much of the war years.
In transposing the legend of Faust and his pact with the devil to a rousing bit of American folklore, the screenplay by Dan Totheroh and Stephen Vincent Benét presents greed as anathema to the American way of life, and in one of the few brief eras where that notion was anything short of risible. As such, rugged individualism is spurned in favor of collectivism, specifically in the exalting of the values of an agricultural grange—a communal safety net for small farmers like All That Money Can Buy’s protagonist, Jabez Stone (James Craig).

Rolling Stone’s Future of Music showcase has brought an array of genres to the Moody Theater in Austin over four nights, from hip-hop to música mexicana, urbano to Afrobeats, and beyond. The final night was all about guitars, bringing together acts from indie rock, country, and more who love the instrument. And for Faye Webster, that instrument is pedal steel guitar in particular.

Faye Webster is kicking my ass at tennis. We’re at the Altadena Town & Country Club in L.A. on a late-January afternoon, playing a very loose set amid pouring rain. One of us is really good; the other (me) has never picked up a racket in her life. But even though I’m pathetically outmatched, Webster is being really sweet about it, cheering from her side of the court whenever I manage to make contact with the heavy, soaking-wet ball (which is almost never).

“I killed you,” says a man. “Yeah, you did,” says the Crow, played by Bill Skarsgård, as he cocks a gun at the man’s head in the trailer for the upcoming remake of the phantasmagoric revenge movie from 1994.
A trailer for The Crow, due out this summer, shows Skarsgård in the role of Eric Draven, a restless spirit hellbent (literally) on avenging his own death, as well as that of his lover, Shelley Webster, played by FKA Twigs.

Miami — In two signs of the growing dynamism of Catalonia’s TV scene, Barcelona-based film-tv indie studio Filmax has licensed “Dating in Barcelona” to Amazon’s Prime Video.
Produced by Filmax, Catalan public broadcaster 3Cat and Prime Video in Spain, “Dating in Barcelona” bowed last year in Spain to big ratings, both on its first-window debut on 3Cat and on Prime Video, where it bowed to become one of the streaming service’s most-watched debuts. A modern take on romance and sex in an online age, “Dating in Barcelona” also reflects a swing in TV towards a lighter, more episodic fare, whether in crime thrillers or other categories. Each episode features two dates which, as Variety has observed, play off each other.
Powered in creative terms by Pau Freixas, behind iconic series from “Red Band Society” to “I Know Who You Are” and “Todos Mienten,” all produced by Filmax, “Dating...

Welcome to this week’s review of Impact Wrestling, which this week opens with a Before the Impact match that saw Ace Austin defeat Jason Hotch. Let’s get into the review…
Match #1: Deonna Purrazzo def. Dani Luna The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
Before Deonna Purrazzo battles the returning Jordynne Grace tomorrow night at Victory Road, she must first get by Subculture’s Dani Luna! Purrazzo goes for the Fujiwara Armbar early but Luna scurries to the ropes. Luna hits a Fallaway Slam, followed by a running clothesline. Purrazzo gains control with an Arm Wringer into the hardest part of the ring. Back in the ring, Purrazzo hits a Backstabber for two. Luna connects with a dropkick, followed by a powerbomb. Luna rolls her up for another near fall. Purrazzo locks in the Fujiwara Armbar to win by submission.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Joya (Joe Hendry & Yuya Uemura) def.

Lt. Joe Leaphorn is no closer to discovering the answers he seeks.
That was despite finally being able to interrogate the man he believes killed his son J.J. on Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 5.
That really wasn't Joe's fault. He was just dealing with a man who is a nutjob.
At least we finally got a peak into what made Wolf into the murderer he's become.
It appears that when Wolf was a boy, his mother shot and killed his father and his sister. Wolf discovered this grisly fact upon returning home one day.
However, despite Leaphorn's best efforts, how Wolf went from there to blowing up the Drumco oil drilling site remained a mystery.
It didn't help that Joe was suddenly under the gun to gain whatever information he could from Wolf.
That was because Gordo rolled in with an outstanding warrant for Wolf covering previous murders in another county.

There’s a new trailer for World on Fire, the Masterpiece war drama from The A Word’s Peter Bowker that bows Sunday, October 15, on PBS.
The series looks at World War II through the eyes of ordinary people from all sides of the conflict. The new seven-episode season will follow the first year of the war, starting with the German invasion of Poland in September 1939 and ending with the Battle of Britain.
The cast includes Lesley Manville (The Crown), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Ahad Raza Mir (Resident Evil), Mark Bonnar (Guilt) and Gregg Sulkin (Runaways).
In 2019, PBS joined the BBC for a second season of the drama that starred Helen Hunt as a war correspondent. Season 2 has already dropped in the U.K, where viewers have noticed the absence of Hunt, as well as Sean Bean, Arthur Darvill and Brian J. Smith — due to a combination of scheduling...
