Remember the tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin from our childhood? The one where a piper came to rid the town of rats by playing his magical tunes, luring the pests away into the lake? But when he wasn’t paid as promised, he took away the children as revenge. Classic folklore, right? But what if I told you that legend has it that the Pied Piper isn’t just a story of the past? He still lurks among us. Not in bright, colorful clothes, but as a dark and ominous creature, playing his haunting musical hymns in a sinister manner. In the movie The Piper, directed by Erlingur Thoroddsen, the story goes like this: Catherine, inspired by the legend of the Pied Piper, creates a concerto for children. But when the tunes from her concerto lead to tragic consequences, causing the deaths of children, she tries to destroy them.

Three years after winning an Emmy for portraying Margaret Thatcher, Gillian Anderson returns to British politics as a member of the fourth estate in “Scoop.” The Netflix film stars the actress as the “Newsnight” journalist Emily Maitlis, who sat down for a squirm-inducing interview with Prince Andrew, Duke of York, portrayed by a physically transformed Rufus Sewell. The actor has of late been playing an American politician on the streamer’s “The Diplomat.” Watch the full “Scoop” trailer below.
The trailer begins with a voiceover promising that “an hour of television can change everything.” The film follows Billie Piper’s producer Sam McAlister, who is determined to land this major sit-down despite being told she is “chasing a story we’re never gonna get.” Her zeal only intensifies when details about Andrew’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein become public knowledge. When she does score a clandestine meeting with Prince Andrew to win him over,...

Charmed is one of the biggest shows of the ’90s and ’00s.
The series, which premiered on The WB for eight seasons from October 1998 through May of 2006, centers around three sisters with unique magical powers, also known as the Charmed Ones, who are the most powerful good witches in the world. Using their powers (the Power of Three!), they protect the world from evil.
The first three seasons featured Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano) as the trio, until Shannen left in 2001, being replaced by Rose McGowan as the long-lost younger half-sister Paige Matthews in Season 4.
By 2018, the series got a reboot at The CW, which ran for four seasons until May of 2022.

Reece's search for her missing sister was a weak storyline until the reveal.
On Neighbours during the week of 11-13-23, we learned that Krista and Eden were the key to understanding everything that had happened before the time jump.
It was a risky move for the Australian soap; some viewers were lost, confused, or annoyed by the non-linear storytelling. But it paid off beautifully for those who stuck with it til the end.
Neighbours masterfully put together a mystery, letting Melanie and others tell just enough of the story each day to leave viewers eager to know what happened next and how it all fit together.
In newly created flashbacks, we first learned that Melanie had been the Sincalirs' housekeeper and had ended up on the hook for drug crimes in the UK after trying to protect a teenage Krista from a drug dealer.
That left me guessing that Eden was Krista's dealer,...

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly… Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!
Match #1: Seth “Freakin” Rollins & Sami Zayn vs. “Dirty” Dom & Jd McDonagh (No-Contest) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In the final moments of tag team action, surprise interference from The Judgment Day brought a sudden halt to the match. The bedlam intensified in the aftermath when Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso rushed to the ring to even the odds of The Judgment Day and McDonagh’s post-match attack on Rollins and Zayn. The post-match brawl resulted in an irate Raw General Manager Adam Pearce banning all involved noncompeting WarGames participants from the arena prior to the main event WWE Undisputed Tag Team Title Match.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Otis The following is courtesy of wwe.

Uh oh! What's Nell up to now?
After she agreed to a fresh start with Terese, it was only a matter of time before something went wrong.
Neighbours spoilers for the week of 10-02-23 suggest that Terese will get manipulated because of her desire to have close, harmonious relationships with Toadie and his family.
Terese shouldn't be so naive. She's not only been Nell's neighbour for her entire life but raised several teenagers, and Piper wasn't exactly well-behaved when she was Nell's age.
From the get-go, agreeing to keep Nell's bad behaviour secret was a terrible idea. All it would ever accomplish was driving a wedge between Terese and Toadie.
The only question here is what Nell is up to. It would cause a ton of drama if she managed to lure Melanie back to Ramsay Street to break up Toadie and Terese unwittingly!
But would Melanie come? That...

Cat Power’s 1998 album Moon Pix often feels like it exists in a world entirely separate to our own, though the emotions it evokes are unmistakably human. Largely written in a single sitting after a terrifying hallucinatory episode, the album moves at an almost glacial pace, grounded by little more than reverb-heavy guitar licks, slowcore-style drum brushes, repeating piano lines, and Chan Marshall’s hazy, whispered croon.
Across 11 tracks, Marshall sings of being haunted by spirits, hell, and other people, but mostly by her past and the uncertainty of her future. It’s a disconcerting but deeply powerful album, and listening to it feels a lot like being transported to the world of Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory, where time collapses in on itself and the familiar is rendered strange and unsettling.
“He Turns Down” represents Moon Pix at its darkest and most unnerving. Written about Marshall’s...

Orange Is the New Black helped put Netflix on the map. Now, several of the supporting stars on the trailblazing prison dramedy are looking back on the show’s breakout and continued success to ask why they weren’t fairly compensated.
Their questions, coming as the Jenji Kohan-created series celebrates the 10-year anniversary of its July 11, 2013, premiere, surfaced in a New Yorker story published ahead of SAG-AFTRA announcing an actors strike after the union failed to reach a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) group of studios and streamers. Horror movies have a reputation for not maintaining their fidelity to human psychology. Often, too much emphasis is placed on the cliche moments of the genre, and the performances usually suffer as a result. Surprisingly, Kinderfanger, the new movie by Bridger Nielson, boasts a bravura performance by Angel Theory, considering the rigid confines of the genre. Actually, the movie is a stitched-up version of a 10-episode series released in 2020, and with its decent plot and rich performances, Kinderfanger delivers a more than satisfying horror experience. .

London, June 2 (Ians) Worcestershire seamer Josh Tongue on Thursday made his England Test debut against Ireland at the Lord’s and helped earn a whopping 50,000 pounds to a family friend — Tim Piper — who placed an unlikely bet 14 years ago.
Tongue was drafted into England’s squad as injury cover for James Anderson and Ollie Robinson, having impressed for the England Lions when they toured Sri Lanka last weekend.
The 25-year-old was a surprise pick for the Ireland Test, having been selected ahead of veteran Chris Woakes.
Piper, who played cricket with Tongue’s father Phil at their local club Redditch, is set for a huge payout after placing 100 pounds on him to play Test cricket for England when he was just 11 at odds of 500-1.
“I’ve kept the bet slip in a cupboard all these years. I just thought to myself ‘it must be worth £100’. If he doesn’t make it,...

Sally Struthers has a screen acting career that goes back more than fifty years, with one of her earliest appearances being in the 1970 Bob Rafelson / Jack Nicholson classic Five Easy Pieces. As the decades have gone by, she has racked up more than seventy more credits, including a memorable role in Gilmore Girls, a role in the 1972 version of The Getaway, and of course the gig she’s best known for, playing Gloria Bunker-Stivic in 184 episodes of the sitcom All in the Family. A character she also played in 5 episodes of the follow-up Archie Bunker’s Place and 22 episodes of her own spin-off, Gloria. But while Struthers has done a lot of work, one genre she never ventured into was horror… Until now. She has worked on a few thrillers, but her first all-out horror movie is called Evil Sublet – and Deadline reports that Lion Heart Distribution has acquired North American rights to the film.
