- Red Storey was born in Barrie, Ontario. He was the Chief Referee of the NHL from 1950 to 1959. In addition to working 480 regular-season games, he worked in seven consecutive Stanley Cup Final series from 1952 through 1958. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1967. In 1991, he was made a Member of the Order of Canada.
