Aldo Moro was born on September 23, 1916 in Maglie, Puglia, Italy. He was married to Eleonora Chiavarelli. He died on May 9, 1978 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
In 1978 he was kidnapped by the Red Brigades terrorist group, which held him captive for 54 days and then murdered him.
Prime Minister of Italy (from the Christian Democrat party) from 1963-68 and 1974-76, making him one of Italy's longest-serving Prime Ministers after World War II.
