Providence, R.I. — Quahog, R.I., the fictional hometown of Peter Griffin and his dysfunctional "Family Guy" relatives, is coming to life.
The show will meld with reality this weekend when a local tourism council sponsors an all-day bus tour highlighting the Rhode Island institutions featured – for better or worse – on the Fox network's hit series.
Fans will get to visit the bar in Johnston known as The Drunken Clam, a "Family Guy" neighborhood haunt, and drive past a downtown Providence skyscraper off which the often clueless, almost always politically incorrect character jumps in one episode because he's "immortal."
The show, created by Seth MacFarlane, who attended the Rhode Island School of Design, pretty accurately depicts a slew of real-life Rhode Island places, including the iconic Van Wickle Gates at Brown University and the Breakers mansion in Newport. It takes generous liberties with others.
And that's part of the entertainment.

The Coldplay frontman explained that the Jack Black-starring animated movie provides great life lessons for children and adults alike. The Sun quotes him as saying: "In Kung Fu Panda 2 the baddie sends an evil force right into Po's head, but the lesson he learns is how to turn that force around and send it back twice as strong. "It is a great way to deal with negativity. We are interested in turning negatives into positives. "I feel like every kid is trying to get that at school. They take crap from people. We want them to take that as, 'When people are mean to you, don't let (more)...

A few weeks back, Ke$ha and Wayne Coyne started tweeting semi-scandalous photos from a joint studio session (lines of Tums were involved?), and Vulture did not alert you because, well, Ke$ha tweets crazy stuff all the time. But the fruits of that session, or some session like it, will soon be available to the world at large, so here is your update: Ke$ha, the Flaming Lips, and Biz Markie made a song together. It’s called “2012,” and it will be on the Flaming Lips’ Record Store Day collaboration double-album. Also on Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends, as it is titled: Justin Vernon, Neon Indian, Erykah Badu, Chris Martin, Nick Cave, and Yoko Ono. The best title award goes to "Supermoon Made Me Want to Pee" (featuring Prefuse 73), though the whole track list is worth a gander. And that concludes your Flaming Lips Wackiness Update for the day.

Okay, okay, we get it already: Rihanna has forgiven Chris Brown for something we aren't ready to forgive him for, and the duo are doing everything possible to demonstrate their newfound reconciliation to the world post Brown's controversial appearance at the Grammys on February 12.
Exhibit A was Brown's curious appearance at RiRi's pre-birthday bash at Hearst Mansion just one day after the Grammys, which also had Katy Perry, Chris Martin and Bruno Mars in attendance. Exhibit B would be their joint collaboration of remixes, released shortly thereafter, a his-and-her pair of tracks that featured each other ("Birthday Cake," "Turn up the Music").
Now TMZ has caught footage of the 22-year-old Brown giddily mouthing along to his ex-girlfriend's "We Found Love," like some sort of rabid teenage fan, at an Orlando nightclub over the weekend. Ostensibly, this is to show the world that he supports her and is a big fan; to us,...

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has claimed that he doesn't expect the band to win any Brit Awards next week. The group are up for the 'British Group' and 'Mastercard British Album Of The Year' awards at the ceremony, but are certain Adele will take home the prize in the latter category. Speaking to Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, Martin said: "Unless Adele somehow deletes her albums, I think we can come to the conclusion that [we won't win anything]. I'm pretty sure of it." The star also revealed that they intend to avoid the red carpet at the event, adding: "We haven't done a red carpet for a long time. "We love these things (award shows) but red carpets are more for nice ladies. We (more)...

New York -- The Grammy Awards' warm embrace of Chris Brown three years after his assault of Rihanna has drawn the ire of viewers who claim the controversial R&B star shouldn't have been rewarded with such attention.
Brown was front-and-center three times during Sunday's Grammys. He won best R&B album for "F.A.M.E.," he performed a single from his upcoming album, "Turn Up the Music," and he opened a dance tribute to "Soul Train" creator Don Cornelius.
The imagery of Brown's Grammy glory was striking because it was, literally, a return to the scene of the crime. On the eve of the 2009 Grammys, Brown beat his then-girlfriend Rihanna, for which he later pled guilty to a charge of assault and was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community labor.
Since then, Brown has worked to repair his image,...

It began with Rihanna performing the hit single ‘We Found Love’ along with several dancers, shouting ‘Make some noise for Whitney!’ during her rendition in a tribute to the late Whitney Houston who died the night before.
The performance then segued into the ‘Princess of China’ duet when Chris Martin of Coldplay came on stage, and which then turned into ‘Paradise’ performed by the full band.

Rihanna and Coldplay totally knocked their Grammy performance out of the park when it came on about one third of the way through the big show this evening in La. Rihanna kicked things off with a solo rendition of "We Found Love," which she accompanied with her signature super sexy dance moves. She then teamed up with Coldplay for a medley of their songs, starting with "Princess of China" which went right into their hit "Paradise." It's already been a performance-packed Grammys, but Rihanna and Chris Martin's collaboration was certainly a highlight. Rih showed off some skin with her onstage outfit, but she also turned heads with her red carpet look earlier in the evening. Rihanna wore a custom-made Armani gown, which left little to the imagination. Check out lots of pics of the Rihanna and Coldplay duet, and don't forget to vote in all of Fab and Bella's Grammys fashion and beauty polls!

Sprawled out on the floor under a red light and accompanied at first by just a piano, Rihanna hit the stage at the 54th Grammy Awards for a dance-heavy take on her massive #1 hit "We Found Love."
The performance kicked off like a scene straight out of the thematically dark video for the track, with the Barbadian pop star leaning against a wall looking troubled under dark lighting with only a piano playing alongside her as she sang the track like a torch ballad. Looking gorgeous — and giving off a Tina Turner vibe — Rihanna rocked the blond locks she introduced recently, wearing a tight, belly-baring ensemble.
The laser lights, Led screens and synths kicked up soon enough, though, and Rihanna welcomed dancers to...

Sure, everyone gets nervous before going on stage. But when you're about to perform some of the most beloved music in history and on a grand stage in front of the man who made it all famous ... well, that calls for grander measures.
Backstage in the talent tent for the MusiCares Person of the Year gala, music legends requested everything from Advil to space heaters. Elvis Costello stood outside wife Diana Krall's dressing room, chatting with Rock & Roll Hall-of-Famer Duane Eddy, while Neil Young prepared separately in his tour bus. 85-year-old Tony Bennett made a call from his dressing room asking for vodka.
It was hard to know where to look on Friday night inside the packed La Convention Center ballroom -- but all eyes were decidedly on the man of the night, Sir Paul McCartney. As guests sat down to his personally chosen vegetarian dinner, McCartney ceremoniously chewed...

The Coldplay frontman looks set to join the High Flying Birds rocker on stage during his performance at the ceremony, which takes place on February 21 at London's O2 Arena. BRITs host James Corden said during an interview on BBC Radio 2: 'I think - and I don't know if this is true and I'm almost certain that I'm not supposed to tell you - that Chris Martin is going to accompany Noel on the piano.' -- Adele is the rare star that doesn't need multiple magazine covers, a cosmetics contract or a clothing line to sell albums. She does it all based on the strength of that sumptuous voice and those stirring songs.
That's a rarity in today's pop world, where artists are overexposed and their music often comes second to what they're promoting in tandem with it.
Adele scored an unlikely critical and commercial triumph with "21," last year's best-selling album, all based off the artistry of songs like "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You." And she'll be richly rewarded come Sunday, when the Grammys hand out their trophies at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. While Kanye West is the lead nominee with seven, Adele, who's up for six, will be the act who dominates – well, at least that's what We think.

For all their yearning ballads and poetic imagery, it turns out that Coldplay just wants to dance. Chris Martin and co. travel to a colorful U.K. rave in their latest video, for the new single "Charlie Brown," although the music itself is very un-rave like. "Charlie" is as Coldplay as it gets: Soaring melodies powered by a catchy circular riff meshing jangly guitars and high-pitched keyboards give way to Martin's sexy croon, as he sings about going out at night to get his freak on. It also includes a lyric that wouldn't sound out-of-place in a Craig Finn song: "Took a...

It's not every day you get to attend a rave headlined by Coldplay. Raves are for young folk, and young folk aren't going to Coldplay concerts anymore. They're at, like Kreayshawn house parties or something? But in this shiny new video for "Charlie Brown," off last year's Mylo Xyloto, Chris Martin is officially the coolest cat at what Prefix rightly calls "the most sanitized rave you'll ever see in your life." It kind of looks like a Lite-Brite exploded in everyone's face at this rave, and you know what? It's kind of nice! The kids look happy and healthy, and they're wearing nice practical sneakers, and sure, there's some young love, but it looks responsible. And meanwhile, Chris Martin is in his own world of one, spinning in a circle while no one tries to violate him in any way, having a grand ol' time. So sure, if this is...

Pixie Lott has revealed that she would like to collaborate with Coldplay. The singer admitted that there are a range of artists that she would like to work with, but the Chris Martin-fronted band is her current favourite. Asked which single act would she like to work with at this moment in time, Lott told Capital FM: "I'm gonna say Coldplay." She added: "I feel really lucky with the collaborations I've done on this album and now I've done a couple more and I've got a taste for it I definitely want to do more because I think it's a really fun thing to do. "So I'm up for doing loads more. The list goes on. (more)...

Paul Feig, creator of Freaks and Geeks and director of Bridesmaids, is a Howard Stern Show superfan. And I, Kate Spencer, creator of a really good bowl of cereal that I just had for lunch, am a Paul Feig and Howard Stern Show superfan. So naturally, when I interviewed Paul at the People’s Choice Awards this month, the first thing I blurted out was: “I want you to be a guest on Howard Stern!”
I’m guessing this is the first time Feig’s ever encountered a reporter trying to match-make him with a radio show, and his response was priceless. “I wanna be on there!” he exclaimed, as Wendi Mclendon-Covey looked on with a smile. “Please Howard, have me as a guest. I won’t be a bad guest.” Paul’s been a fan of the show for over thirty years, starting...
