Darow is a Korean American rock singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles whose intimate lyrics, catchy melodies and fluid vocal style have been compared to Morrissey, Neil Young and Simple Minds. His songs come from a deeply personal, heartfelt perspective, embracing storytelling and its power to heal and illuminate. Darow's performances demonstrate his range of expression from singing, to playing acoustic and electric guitar, as well as drums.
He has found inspiration from a wide range of artists, including Keane, Lana del Rey, The Cult, Fleetwood Mac, and Joni Mitchell, and is also a motor sports enthusiast and Corvette owner.
Career highlights include his first music video "Together" winning Best Music Video at Cannes Shorts 2022. "Together" and "Open Heart" EP were recorded at Joshua Tree Recording Studio, produced by Darow, mixed by Tommy Dietrick, and mastered by Howie Weinberg.
Darow was founder and lead singer of rock band DMZ//38, which received global press coverage for supporting peace and reunification of Korea. DMZ//38 was featured on YTN TV, which is South Korea's CNN, and named Outstanding Political Band of the Year. As an original member of rap duo Fists of Fury, Darow was one of the very first Korean American hip-hop artists. Fists of Fury gained acclaim for its work addressing inter-racial relations following the LA Riots.
His new single and music video "Father's Day" will premiere in December 2023.
