Jared Leto’s Morbius underwhelmingly performed at the global box office on its theatrical release but gained momentum when released online. Whatever the outcome went, the lead actor has already expressed his opinion on reprising his role which aligns with Fast X star, Tyrese Gibson.
Jared Leto as Morbius
The latter is currently occupied with promoting his new project, Bloodline Killer but when it comes to joining the Spider-Man Universe, he’s more open to the idea, which doesn’t fit well among the fandom.
Fast X Actor Tyrese Gibson is Open to Return for Morbius 2
Jared Leto’s tenure as Dr. Michael Morbius was set to explore more of the Spider-Man Universe in detail but Morbius didn’t turn out to be a promising project. Although the movie was unable to captivate audiences or critics’ interest, the movie’s post-credit scenes hinted at an installment.

The tales and myths of blood-sucking vampires have existed since time immemorial. They have made their way into pop culture, including comics that have their own versions of these legendary monsters. Marvel’s Morbius, the Living Vampire, was its own iteration that combined science and mythic arts, and debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man #101 in October 1971. Since then, the character has made regular appearances in comics, shows, and even a standalone film.
Morbius in Spider-Man: The Animated Series
Similar to his on-page debut, Michael Morbius first appeared in the fan-favorite Fox Kids show Spider-Man: The Animated Series. The success of the animated show gave the showrunner John Semper the space to experiment and introduce obscure characters such as Morbius, and it worked out in favor of Marvel fans.

When you think about Batman, one wouldn’t be wrong to think about the animated series that aired in the 90s. The DC hero was already an icon. But Batman: The Animated Series took the caped crusader’s fame to the next level. And a lot of credit for that goes to Bruce Timm, the brain behind the series. In spite of the reputation and success of the DC series, there were some things that left him disappointed. But what tops this list is something that Marvel did with his idea.
Batman: The Animated Series was Bruce Timm’s brainchild

After winning a staring contest against Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger at the 96th Academy Awards ceremony, Michael Keaton is opening up about his bizarre cameo in Sony’s 2022 Spider-Man spin-off film Morbius. Among the film’s many cinematic crimes is Keaton’s post-credits guest spot as Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture. Despite the opinion that adding Michael Keaton to any film makes it better, fans scratched their heads in confusion when Toomes appeared. Some fans suggest this scene is another attempt to tease a Sinister Six film in Sony’s live-action Spider-Verse franchise, but we’ve heard that song before. Eventually, you must either clarify your intentions or scrap the project entirely.
On the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Keaton admitted he’s just as confused as everyone else about his Morbius cameo, saying, “No, no idea. None. Zero,” Keaton said. “I mean, they said ‘Okay’… and even they couldn’t quite explain it.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe films, an attempt to take villains and supporting characters they have pre-mcu rights to and make them A Thing, have had at best mixed success. But since the first “Madame Web” trailer dropped, fans have latched onto star Dakota Johnson’s delivery of a line describing the movie’s villain, Ezekiel Sims.
“He was in the Amazon with my mom, when she was researching spiders, right before she died,” Johnson’s Cassandra Webb intones as part of a number of voiceover lines that don’t seem to draw much emotion from the actress. And yes, “Webb” is her character’s last name even before developing precog powers allowing her to see events before they transpire — and change them.
The text has been joined with the bashful Kevin James meme:
What am I, some kind of researcher in the Amazon with your mom when she was researching spiders right before she died?...

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 represents Insomniac’s biggest attempt yet to create a Spider-Man title unlike any that have come before. Of course, the web-slinger has long enjoyed an incredible history of exceptional video games that many other superheroes can’t quite match. Every time a new Peter Parker title is released, we’re inspired to make comparisons to the character’s rich legacy in the medium and judge it based on those expectations. Every time, the bar is raised just a little bit higher.
There are certain elements in a Spider-Man game that developers always have to get right like the costume designs, web-slinger mechanics, and roster of rogues. Well, all of these games feature notable examples of those core qualities while bringing their own unique flavor to Marvel Entertainment’s neighborhood hero.

This post contains spoilers for Disney's "Haunted Mansion."
Disney's latest attempt at adapting the popular theme park attraction "Haunted Mansion" into a live-action film has taken a very family-friendly approach, but it's my responsibility to warn moviegoers of a serious jump-scare in the early going. Sure, the entire appeal of the movie is how it blends humor, heart, and horror together into one big witch's brew of spookiness, but there's a certain notable moment that practically demands a content warning -- one that hasn't been highlighted in much of the marketing to this point and has surprised more than a few unwary souls (or should I say foolish mortals?) who had absolutely no idea what they were in for.
I'm talking, of course, about that title card in the opening minutes displaying the downright ghoulish acting credit of: "And Jared Leto as the Hatbox Ghost."

Anthony Hopkins doesn’t feel the need to go Method in Marvel films.
The “Silence of the Lambs” Oscar winner told The New Yorker that appearing in Marvel films “Thor,” “Thor: The Dark World,” and “Thor: Ragnarok” had a “pointless” approach to acting due to the green screen CGI-heavy superhero films.
“They put me in armor; they shoved a beard on me,” Hopkins recalled. “Sit on the throne, shout a bit. If you’re sitting in front of a green screen, it’s pointless acting it.”
“Thor: Love and Thunder” actor (and fellow Academy Award winner) Christian Bale previously said it would be a “pitiful attempt” to apply classical acting techniques to play an MCU villain.
“That would’ve been a pitiful attempt to do that, as I’m trying to get help getting the fangs in and out and explaining I’ve broken a nail, or I’m tripping over the tunic,...

While there are no guarantees when it comes to predicting what audiences will show up for in theaters, horror and superheroes sit comfortably at the top of the reliable list. Transitionary phases in both MCU and Dceu resulted in more unpredictability than usual for superhero fare at the box office here in 2022. And though superhero movies have occasionally dabbled in horror over the years, 2022 undoubtedly saw them embrace the genre more than ever.
Before The Batman was released in March, director Matt Reeves described his take on the Caped Crusader as “almost a horror movie.” The suspenseful, unnerving opening sequence confirmed it. The Batman opens on Halloween, introducing this iteration of the Riddler (Paul Dano) as an eerie killer as he stalks and then murders the Gotham City mayor in his own home. It established a somber, gritty tone more akin to Se7en than your conventional superhero movie.

For years now, there's been consistent chatter about whether audiences are experiencing superhero fatigue. Never has that been more relevant than over the past couple of years, when Marvel Studios began inundating us with superhero TV shows on Disney+ that continue to expand the canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside the three or four big-screen endeavors hitting theaters each year. Meanwhile, on the DC Comics side of things, fans have grown tired of the rigamarole being played with the continuity of the DC Extended Universe, whether in the form of cries to restore the Snyderverse and release "Zack Snyder's Justice League," or demands to move away from an interconnected universe and embrace the darkness of Todd Phillips' "Joker" with movies that aren't trying to follow in the footsteps of Marvel.

Warning: This article contains frank discussion of (and occasional snark directed towards) all things Morbin'-related. Reader discretion is advised.
I can pinpoint the exact moment when everything changed forever: January 13, 2020. A little before noon, the unsuspecting world at large was introduced to the first teaser showcasing Jared Leto's Dr. Michael Morbius in all his angsty, brooding, and utterly unhygienic glory. Although it would take more than two years for the superhero antihero film to finally make the jump to theaters, it would be fair to say that the Year of "Morbius" -- if it helps, think of it as an even more cursed twist on the Summer of George -- first took shape in the Before Times, almost 36 long months ago.
After that fateful day, we ended up having to deal with seemingly nonstop absurdity surrounding the film's perpetually on-hold release. Thanks to an almost unfathomably long pandemic-related delay from...

Comic fans are quite familiar with the superhero character Morbius. So, when Sony announced its production, expectations were high. Besides being the third movie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, the character is based on Marvel’s comic. The movie’s storyline follows Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) and his childhood friend Lucien (Matt Smith), who he nicknamed Milo. At the start of the movie, both characters are plagued with a rare blood disease they have to deal with until adulthood. Morbius then finds a cure that also turns him into a vampiric creature. Refusing to let his brother and friend, Milo, experience the same

Even before Morbius’ streaming release (and subsequent premiere on Netflix), watching Smith’s evil Milo the Vampire boogieing to “Ekse” was transformed into an instant meme. The year 2022 has seen a box office of many highs and lows, dominated by the record-breaking success of "Top Gun: Maverick." Although the film was originally scheduled for release in the summer of 2020, it had to be pushed back several times due to concerns about the Covid-19 pandemic. The wait was worth it, and "Maverick" became the second film since the beginning of the pandemic to cross 1 billion at the worldwide box office. Hopefully, the film's success will be rewarded at the end of this year during awards season. Paramount Pictures, Tom Cruise, and director Joseph Kosinski deserve credit for inspiring movie fans to head back to theaters.
