- Catherine was born in McColl, South Carolina and now resides in North Carolina with her family where she received her advanced graduate degrees. She has worked as a school psychologist, teacher, counselor, and school administrator. Her interests in the entertainment business began while in elementary school when she entered several talent contests as a singer. She continued this interest while in college when she became involved in a college drama production. She has been in the entertainment business since 1998.
Catherine's experience has been varied throughout the years. She began by doing background (extra)work in many feature films. Since then she has moved to principal roles in independent films, television, commercials, and voice-over work. She co-hosts a local TV show called "Live at Nine" two to three times a month and hosts other North Carolina broadcast shows and events. Sewell played the lead role as Patricia McCormick on Psychic Detectives (Lost in Transit), the head nurse on the BBC series "Days That Shook The World-Pearl Harbor" and was in the national commercial for Travelocity, which premiered the roaming gnome that aired during the Rose Bowl. She was also in the TV series NC Wanted where she played Nancy, the mother of Linda Meeker, to just name a few of the features, commercials, and independent films she has been in.
Some of Catherine's work that will be coming out on DVD or airing on television in the near future are the following: the feature film "Will to Power" with Jerry Mathers, who played the Beaver, on "Leave it to Beaver", "Praise Band" by Elevating Entertainment which will air on SkyAngel and Dish Network and the feature film "Goodbye Solo" by Ramin Bahrani.

- Catherine earned her SAG card by appearing as Naomi Newman in the "Lost Gnome" Travelocity Commercial which aired during the Rose Bowl on January 1, 2004. This was the first of the series of the roaming Gnome.
