True Brit Entertainment has revealed a first look image of Pierce Brosnan in the boxing biopic ‘Giant.’
The movie is based on the compelling true-life story of British-Yemeni pugilist Prince Naseem ‘Naz’ Hamed and his rags-to-riches ascent to a World Championship under the tutelage of his Irish-born boxing trainer Brendan Ingle.
The story of Hamed’s humble beginnings on the tough working-class streets of Sheffield and his discovery by Ingle, himself a steel industry worker turned boxing trainer. Their unlikely partnership along with Naz’ unorthodox style, cocky persona, and sheer dominance in the ring, propelled them to the top of boxing’s elite and unprecedented levels of global superstardom, all in the face of the rampant Islamophobia and racism of 80’s and 90’s Britain.

Giant will star Amir El-Masry and Pierce Brosnan. What’s more, filming is about to begin in Leeds, as part of an all-uk shoot.
Shortly to start filming in the UK is a new movie by the name of Giant. Unrelated to the James Dean-headlined classic, this is actually the biopic of boxer Prince Naseem Hamed (also known as Naz). It’s going to follow his story from his early days through to his ascent to becoming a world champion boxer.
Interesting personnel have been attracted to the feature, too.
Amir El-Masry is going to be playing Hamed in the movie, and alongside him will be Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan is going to take on the role of Brendan Ingle, the trailer who helped coach Hamed to his title.
Rowan Athale, who’s been working on the likes of The Rise and Gangs Of London, has written the script and will be directing as well.

Boxing champ Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed is getting the sports biopic treatment. Paddy Considine and Mena Massoud are aboard to star in Giant.

Their unlikely partnership along with Naz’ unorthodox style, cocky persona and dominance in the ring propelled them to the top of boxing’s elite, all in the face of Islamophobia and racism.
And Athale is excited that a certain Sylvester Stallone, who has some experience with boxing movies, is among the producers. "The story of fabled boxing trainer Brendan Ingle and his tempestuous relationship with protege ‘Prince’ Naseem is both legendary, and truly cinematic,” he says. "It’s exciting, necessary, hilarious, and heartbreaking, and...

Gangs of London is an explosive crime drama that blew up the streets of the capital when season one landed in 2020. Now the whole of season two is with us, available to stream in full on Sky Atlantic, Now and AMC+, and no expense is spared on the violence and the visuals as well as the emotional impact.
Not only that but a season three has been greenlit too. The worst thing about it? You’re going to have to wait until next year at the earliest to get your teeth into more Gangs.
Great news, then, that season two lead director Corin Hardy along with writer Rowan Athale and illustrator Ferenc Nothof have created a graphic novel which fill in some of the gaps between seasons one and two.

Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that he is “moving on” from The Expendables after 12 years with the Lionsgate action film franchise.
He made the announcement last week in a video published to Instagram, which saw him walking around the set of Expendables 4 on his final day of shooting.
Stallone called the decision to exit the series he helped launch “bittersweet,” though he said that he is “ready to pass the baton on” to co-star Jason Statham “and his capable hands.”
The three-time Oscar nominee later reflected on the “heart, energy and humor” he’s looked to bring all of his projects including those in the Expendables franchise. “The greatest thing is being able to provide films [and] entertainment [where] maybe there’s a little message in there, because what I try to convey in my successful films is the human touch,” Stallone said. “Not so much the action; the action is self-evident.

This article contains spoilers for Outside the Wire. Our spoiler-free review is here.
In the new Netflix sci-fi action thriller Outside the Wire, young hotshot drone pilot Thomas Harp (Damson Idris) is busted down to combat duty in the militarized zone after disobeying a direct order. The year is 2036, and the U.S. military is on a peacekeeping mission in Eastern Europe where a warlord named Viktor Koval (Pilou Asbaek) is trying to get his hands on a stockpile of Russian nuclear weapons so that he can destabilize the world by aiming them at major international cities.
Since this is the future, human soldiers work alongside bulky android warriors known as “gumps.” But Harp is in for a surprise when he is assigned to duty with Captain Leo (Anthony Mackie), who is something new: a fully human-looking android, with flesh covering a mechanized exoskeleton and matrix, and possessed not just of super strength,...

In Netflix’s newest sci-fi romp, “Outside The Wire,” something of a mismatched buddy film meets generic genre actioner, a rookie infantryman is paired up with a pearls-of-wisdom-dropping, veteran cyborg-y android super soldier and early on, is told to, “think outside the box,” encouraged to improvise and break protocol when necessary. Unfortunately, neither director Mikael Håfström, nor writers Rob Yescombe and Rowan Athale, ever heed this advice, instead, delivering a rote, paint-by-numbers affair that says nothing meaningful about fighting wars or the future.

Android Schadenfreude: Hafstrom Soldiers to the Future with Familiar Agenda
Anthony Mackie is the computer who wore combat gear in Outside the Wire, the latest offering from Swedish helmer Mikael Hafstrom, making his first return to Hollywood filmmaking since kicking off an accidental franchise with 2013’s Escape Plan.
In the future envisioned by Rowan Athale and Rob Yescombe’s screenplay, little has changed in the realm of American arrogance as regards peacekeeping missions which dissolve quickly into chaotic standoffs with global terrorists. But in a nod to Asimov, the biotechnological soldiers we’ve created know us so much better than we do ourselves, and so they’ve developed a complex sabotage strategy meant to highlight the necessity of not trusting artificial intelligence.…...

The IFC Films documentary MLK/FBI from filmmaker Sam Pollard makes its debut in select theaters today as well as on demand. The release aligns with Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 18 and it is super relevant to America’s wild inequity and racist treatment of the Black community — specifically Black activists.
MLK/FBI made its world premiere last year at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to play at the New York Film Festival. The riveting docu exposes J. Edgar Hoover and the U.S. government’s surveillance and harassment of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who was labeled by the FBI as the “most dangerous” Black person in America.

Take some ingredients from the Terminator movies, add seasoning from action war pictures like Black Hawk Down or 13 Hours, throw in a pinch of cinematic nuclear terrorism a la True Lies (minus the Middle Eastern stereotypes), and mix it all in that strange blender known as the Netflix algorithm machine. That’s likely how you come up with a movie like Outside the Wire, a military sci-fi action thriller which premieres this week on the streamer.
Directed by Mikael Håfström (whose most recent work includes episodes of the Netflix series Bloodline as well as the 2013 action film Escape Plan), Outside the Wire is set in 2036 as a violent civil war is raging in Eastern Europe, specifically in and around Ukraine. A series of title cards indicates that U.S. forces, acting as peacekeepers in the region, employ robotic soldiers known as “gumps” while the lawless zone is coming increasingly...

“Outside the Wire” opens with a full-on action scene. Robot soldiers fight alongside human ones — or maybe against them. It’s hard to tell. Bullets fly. Tough guys in helmets crouch behind concrete barriers. Two men are hit, and their commanding officer makes plans to pull them to safety, while half a world away, in the middle of the Nevada desert, a hot shot named Harp (“Snowfall” star Damson Idris) eats gummy bears and takes control of the situation. Disobeying a direct order, he launches a drone strike, killing two and saving the other 38. In the next scene, he is court-martialed and sent to the demilitarized zone for a taste of combat.
So begins the latest Netflix action movie, which I wager will be seen by more eyeballs than took in “Tenet” on the big screen last year. They will watch because it stars Anthony Mackie as a android super-trooper,...

'Outside the Wire' teaser trailer has been released.
Netflix dropped the official teaser trailer for the upcoming sci-fi action flick 'Outside the Wire' starring Marvel Cinematic Universe alum Anthony Mackie as an android super-soldier.
Set in the near future, the film centers around a disgraced drone pilot, played by co-star Damson Idris, who’s been sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for an android officer (Mackie), who is tasked to locate a deadly doomsday device before the insurgents do, per Deadline.
In addition to Idris and Mackie, 'Outside the Wire' also features Enzo Cilenti as 'Miller', Emily Beecham as 'Sofiya', Michael Kelly as 'Eckhart', and Pilou Asbæk as 'Trask'.
The trailer seems visually engaging and is full of action-packed battle sequences even though the story sounds familiar.
