Squealer is one of two films, the other being Chad Ferrin’s Pig Killer, inspired by Canadian serial killer, rapist, and possible cannibal Robert Pickton. Pickton killed as many as 49 women and fed many of the bodies to the pigs on his farm, others he allegedly ground up and added to pork that he sold to the public.
Squealer begins on an equally sensational note as a silhouetted figure armed with a machete chases a naked woman through some scrubland. She’s struck by an Rv whose occupants take her to the hospital.
Lisa, a social worker who tries to help the local sex workers wants to find out who is responsible, especially after the woman panics and runs from the hospital and gets hit by a truck.

Andy Armstrong’s Squealer started with a harrowing scene. In the middle of the night, we witness an unclothed woman running continuously. The woman was disoriented and probably running from someone wanting to harm her. An old couple driving down the road found her and took her to the hospital. The woman’s entire body was punctured with needles, and she had blood stains all over her body. Her condition was dire, and the doctor had to perform a carotid to help her breathe. The woman kept saying that someone had taken her captive and was looking for her. Cops and the doctor, on the other hand, said she was a drug addict and was talking gibberish. So, who was the woman running from? The nightmare she was having suggested that her kidnapper had been keeping her on a farm. Maybe he was a hunter, as his house was full...

"Feeding time!" Lionsgate has unveiled an official trailer for a horror thriller called Squealer, marking the feature directorial debut of a filmmaker named Andy Armstrong - who has been doing stunts and working as a second unit director for years previously. When a local cop and an overzealous social-worker follow clues on missing persons cases around town, stomach-turning discoveries are unearthed on a pig farm, where the town butcher has been slaughtering more than livestock. Surprise! Yeah that synopsis pretty much explains everything in this, though there might be a few more twists in it... Or not. Squealer stars Wes Chatham, Ronnie Gene Blevins, Kate Moennig, Danielle Burgio, Graham Greene, Theo Rossi, and Tyrese Gibson. Lionsgate is opening this directly on VOD right away in early November, skipping all of the horror month of October, which is a bad sign. It doesn't look interesting or innovative or anything, just disgusting.

With just two episodes left of “Ahsoka” on Disney+, there are many plot threads that hopefully will be addressed.
With most of the major characters, including Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), either at or headed to (or trying to leave) the planet Peridea as of Episode 6, there will surely be some epic fights to come.
In Episode 6, viewers learned that Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) was thriving despite being exiled to the distant galaxy, to which his follower Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) was able to map a route.
Peridea also happens to be where purrgil, or star whales, migrate to using an organic form of hyperdrive. It is also the homeworld of the Nightsisters or Dathomiri, a faction of witches who use powerful magic and have aligned themselves with Thrawn.
Here’s where all the major characters stand leading into Episode 7. New episodes of “Star Wars: Ahsoka” stream Tuesdays at 6 pm E.

This article contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Ahsoka."
You just never know who's going to show up in a galaxy far, far away these days. Whether it's "Cousin" Richie from "The Bear" (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) popping in to assist Cassian Andor on the Aldhani heist on "Andor" or Dr. John "J.D." Dorian from "Scrubs" (Zach Braff) playing the "Star Wars" equivalent of a Maga supporter on "Obi-Wan Kenobi," the supporting cast of the "Star Wars" franchise is an eclectic collection of top-of-the-line character actors and fan-favorites. Sometimes, however, you might not even recognize them, as they're buried under layers of makeup or wearing a helmet the entire time. That was exactly the case on the latest episode of "Ahsoka."
Titled "Far, Far Away," the episode follows those aboard the Eye of Scion to Peridea, the extra-galactic homeworld of the Dathomiri and a planet so ancient it had fallen into myth.

"Ahsoka" has finally reached the point that "Star Wars Rebels" fans have been waiting for with bated breath: the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who appears in live-action for the first time, announcing his twisted plan for the galaxy. The moment Thrawn arrives in the episode, the remnant Empire's plans automatically gain gravitas. There are a lot of interesting things to dissect here, including his Kintsugi-style deathtroopers, his gold-masked right-hand man, Enoch (Wes Chatham), and most importantly, his flagship, the Isd Chimaera.
The Chimaera is the first visual introduction to Thrawn's return after Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), along with Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) and Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), arrive on Peridea. This is not just a ship; the vessel is intimately linked to Thrawn's rise through the ranks when the Empire thrived, and it is likely that the Chimaera...

Disney+ has released a new trailer for the upcoming “Star Wars” series, “Ahsoka,” providing fans a look at the series’ villain, Grand Admiral Thrawn.
It was announced in April at the Star Wars Celebration fan convention, that Lars Mikkelsen would be set to reprise his role as the “Star Wars” villain and embody the character in the live-action series. Thrawn was originally created by author Timothy Zahn as part of a series of 1990s Star Wars novels chronicling the events following 1983’s “Return of the Jedi,” and he quickly became a fan-favorite character.
However, after Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, Thrawn’s character was removed from the official “Star Wars” canon. Then in 2016, Dave Filoni revived the character and brought him back into a galaxy far, far away after adding him to the “Star Wars Rebels” animated series. The cast of Ahsoka is full of fan-favorite characters from the Rebels animated series, including Grand Admiral Thrawn. We learned that Rebels voice actor Lars Mikkelsen is reprising his villainous role in live-action for Ahsoka during Star Wars Celebration 2023, and it’s starting to look like the series may be about to pull in some other characters from the recent Thrawn novels to expand upon his story. With The Expanse actor Wes Chatham joining the cast in an undisclosed role, there’s a bit of speculation that he could be playing an important character from Thrawn’s past.
According to Deadline, Chatham will portray Thrawn’s “right hand man” in the upcoming Star Wars series. As far as who that character is, io9 was the first to theorize that Chatham may have been cast as Eli Vanto, a character first introduced in Timothy Zahn’s 2017 novel Thrawn who has become...

Throughout its six seasons as one of the best sci-fi TV shows in recent memory, “The Expanse” has always seemed to thrive in certain extremes. From its basic cable origins to its three-year Prime Video run, the show has been at its best when it’s either at rest or its characters are in utter turmoil.
From a pure logistical standpoint, no other series has as full a sense of its world’s mechanics quite like “The Expanse.” Much of that comes from its source material, the books written by James S.A. Corey, the pseudonym of writing team Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (who also write a good portion of the scripts for the new Season 6). The long-established geopolitical relationships between citizens of Earth, Mars, and the Belt complement the tactile nature of resources and equipment it takes to travel between those locations (and beyond them). Throughout the past five seasons of Amazon Studios’ The Expanse, there have been plenty of moments worth talking about—from speeches, to jumps out of airlocks without suits, to deaths that made us cry. Ahead of the show’s final batch of six episodes, premiering Friday, December 10, we decided to relive our 10 favorite scenes—in no particular order—from the sci-fi epic so far. “I am that guy.” Indeed, he is. Topping many fans’ lists is likely this badass Season 3 scene with Amos (Wes Chatham), in which he prevents the kindhearted Prax (Terry Chen) from killing the villainous Dr. Strickland, telling his pal that he isn’t “that guy.” Prax leaves, and Strickland, thinking Amos has spared him, thanks the mechanic…only for Amos to say he is “that guy” and shoot Strickland without a second thought. Drummer’s Speech On the precipice of their journey through the Ring, Drummer...

The Rocinante may be down, but it is by no means out, Avasarala makes clear in the full trailer for The Expanse‘s sixth and final season.
Set in a colonized solar system, Prime Video‘s sci-fi series began with the governments of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt locked in long-standing conflict. The crew of the Rocinante – an illegally salvaged warship – then stumbled on a vast conspiracy and a mysterious alien technology that threatens to upend the balance of power and the fate of humanity.

Amazon Studios’ sci-fi drama The Expanse has always been a fighter, and it is gearing up to go out with a bang based on the key Season 5 episode titled “Gaugamela,” the script of which serves as the latest entry in Deadline’s It Starts On the Page, our series that highlights the scripts that serve as the creative backbones of the now-underway TV awards season.
The scripts are all being submitted for Emmy consideration this year and have been selected using criteria that includes critical acclaim, a range of networks and platforms, and a mix of established and lesser-known shows.
In November, Amazon gave an early and final renewal for a Season 6 of The Expanse just ahead of its 10-episode Season 5 premiere. It set in motion an endgame to the Alcon-produced series, which is based on the bestselling book series by James S.A. Corey (the nom de plume...

[Editor’s Note: The following interview contains spoilers for “The Expanse” Season 5, Episode 9, “Winnipesaukee.”]
The end of “The Expanse” Season 5 is turning out to breathtaking in more ways than one. After building to an oxygen-gasping hard vacuum jump just a few weeks ago, the show embraces that kind of tension on an even bigger scale in its penultimate episode, “Winnipesaukee.” Switching its attention from the void of space to the aftermath of Marco Inaros’ devastating attack on Earth, “The Expanse” follows the group led by Amos (Wes Chatham) as they try to board and rig a private shuttle to escape the planet.
The episode culminates in a dazzlingly executed sequence where this ragtag crew fights to fend off the private security forces bent on taking the shuttle for themselves. From the surprise ambush, all the way through the fiery launch, it’s a real-time battle that’s as impressive in its conception as it is in its execution.

Spoilers ahead for “Exodus,” the first episode of “The Expanse” Season 5.
After a relatively calm fourth season, “The Expanse” returned with a bang Wednesday via the first three episodes of Season 5 — and with it a major storyline, plus a lot of personal growth, for Amos Burton (Wes Chatham).
As things kick off, the crew of the Rocinante have (temporarily) split up, with Holden on Tycho station while Alex, Naomi and Amos travel through the system to deal with various personal business. In Amos’ case, he’s headed back to Earth for the first time in decades after learning that Lydia, the woman who raised him in Baltimore, has died.
While in transit, Amos intervenes to stop an extortion racket taking advantage of the poorer passengers headed to the inner planets. And as this will obviously lead to the extortionists taking revenge at some point, Amos decides to cut to the...

You can put plenty of pieces in place to help the process, but a story that takes place centuries in the future needs people to sell it. Luckily, “The Expanse,” one of TV’s longest-running sci-fi series, enters its Season 5 with a cast and crew that’s spent over a half-decade doing it in style.
By the time the show arrives at the outset of its second full season on Amazon Prime Video, it’s seen the existence of colonial outposts on distant planets, fervent religious separatist movements, and people getting help from ancient species to commune with approximations of dead friends. It’s a strange existence for the people of Earth, Mars, and the Belters who live in the outer reaches of the solar system and beyond. By the laws of escalation that govern longform episodic storytelling, it’s an oddness that needs some way to escalate.

The Expanse season 5 returns the series to the weekly format it enjoyed while it aired on Syfy, but it’s still probably best that Amazon is dropping the first three episodes on December 16 given the amount of exposition in the opening installments. Fortunately, the triple installment ends with a bang, and the series doesn’t let up from then on. Not only are fans in for a ton of action and intrigue; there’s also plenty of rich backstory to please those anxious to revisit with their favorite characters.
The buildup in the initial episodes is not without suspense, but it’s difficult to depict the danger presented by asteroids that are weeks away from colliding with Earth. The Expanse has officially set course toward a bittersweet threshold crossed by many-a-beloved shows: an advance renewal for its final season.
Indeed, as the beloved and beleaguered sci-fi series prepares to premiere its fifth season in December, Amazon Studios has announced the renewal for a sixth and final season for The Expanse, as Deadline reports. Interestingly, while showrunner Naren Shankar and most of the main cast are expected to return for Season 6—notwithstanding plot developments in the upcoming Season 5—the sixth frame will bear a notable absence with the reported ousting of cast member Cas Anvar, who, having played Alex Kamal since the beginning of the series, became embroiled in sexual misconduct allegations this past summer.
“From the moment we committed to bringing this show to life up until this final season, we have worked tirelessly to honor the vision of the writers,” expresses executive producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson,...

The Expanse is coming to an end.
Amazon has ordered a sixth and final season of the sci-fi drama, three weeks ahead of its fifth season premiere.
Deadline has also revealed that Cas Anvar, who faced a string of sexual misconduct allegations earlier this year, will not be back for the final season.
The rest of the cast, including Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, and Wes Chatham are expected to return.
The Expanse Season 5 is set to debut December 16 on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
Instead of airing all episodes in one batch, the streamer is rolling them out weekly, in a similar vein to The Boys Season 2.
Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, Co-CEOs and Co-Founders of Alcon Television Group, and Executive Producers of The Expanse, said:

“The Expanse” has been renewed for Season 6 at Amazon, which will also be the show’s last.
The news comes ahead of the show’s fifth season on the streamer, which will debut on Dec. 16. This will mark the second time the show has come to an end.
“The Expanse” aired its first three seasons on Syfy, with the cable networking having cancelled the series back in 2019. Shortly after it was cancelled, it was reported that Amazon was in talks to continue the series, which is produced and fully financed by Alcon Television Group.
The series is set in the future where humanity has colonized the solar system and the people of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt have long been in opposition with one another. When the crew of the Rocinante uncovers an ancient alien technology, a vast conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will bring the solar system to the brink of war.
