Survivor is losing one of its fan-favorite unofficial prize funds. Jeff Probst released a statement explaining the prize and said that it has officially ended. It has lasted eight years, 14 seasons, and 19 players have won over $1 million. However, Jeff said it is time to close it down.
Here is what Jeff Probst said is ending on Survivor after players won an extra million dollars in prize money.
Sia Is Ending Her Survivor Prize Fund
Sia is an Australian singer/songwriter who is a huge Survivor fan. When she began offering her own money as a special prize fund for her favorite contestants, it took everyone by surprise. This included host Jeff Probst, who didn’t know it was going to happen until after it started.

The Sia Prize has become a familiar post-season award to fun players from each Survivor cast.
Singer Sia had given out cash prizes to the players she most enjoyed watching each season.
Sia enjoyed rewarding several players each season, with recent winners including Kaleb Gebrewold, Jake O’Kane, Carolyn Wiger, Carson Garrett, and Elaine Stott.
Players had been getting up to $100,000 for being her favorite player in a season or $15,000 for being entertaining. And she did this for eight years.
Sia is one of the biggest Survivor fans out there, and the players getting her prize would usually get invited to meet and party with her.
But it is the end of an era, as it has been announced that Sia is done with the prizes and that nobody from the Survivor 46 cast will get one.

The new episode began with only 14 people competing for the $1 million prize.
Three members of the Yanu Tribe had been voted out, and Randen was medically evacuated.
Well… Bhanu wasn’t technically voted out, but Jeff Probst felt the elimination was so obvious that he didn’t make the tribe vote.
Down to only three members, as the new episode began, the Yanu Tribe was in trouble. Could Tiffany, Q, and Kenzie finally win an Immunity Challenge?
As if anyone even needs a reminder… Yanu lost the first four Immunity Challenges. They still didn’t have a flint and had to trade fish they won as a reward for camp supplies since they couldn’t cook it.
Bhanu claimed his tribe lacked empathy in an exit interview. He shared an interesting view of what happened in Fiji.

Sia is a huge fan of Survivor and loves celebrating her favorite players.
The singer of The Greatest, Cheap Thrills, and Elastic Heart also awards cash prizes to players she enjoys on the show.
Following the Survivor 45 season, Sia gave out three cash prizes to cast members. Rewarding players is something she loves doing. It also leads to more than just the winner being recognized.
Some players who have received the Survivor Sia Award include Aurora McCreary from Edge of Extinction, Elaine Stott from Island of the Idols, and Owen Knight from Survivor 43 (in Fiji).
Fans routinely debate which players will or should receive Sia’s admiration in a given season.
Katurah Topps received $100,000 from Sia after appearing on Survivor 45.
Kaleb Gebrewold and Jake O’Kane each received $15,000 from Sia after Survivor 45.

Season 45 of CBS’s reality TV show “Survivor” will premiere on September 27, and (for the first time ever) each episode will be 90 minutes long. As usual, this Fall 2023 competition will strand 18 diverse castaways on a deserted island in Mamanuca Islands, Fiji, where they will initially be divided into three tribes. The players will compete in challenges for immunity and rewards, and they’ll vote each other out until only one remains as the $1 million winner. Scroll through our gallery above (or click here for direct access) to see the “Survivor 45” cast photos — who’s your early favorite?

Sia is about to hit a major milestone in her Survivor fandom. In 2016, after appearing on a reunion special for the reality show, the singer started giving money to its contestants. She told contestant Tai Trang she would donate $50,000 to him personally and another $50,000 to a charity of his choice — and she has continued the habit since.
In a recent Howard Stern interview, Survivor host Jeff Probst, who is friends with Sia, confirmed that she has been so generous that she has given away nearly $1 million.

“Big Brother” fans are calling for the ouster of houseguest Luke Valentine, but not for his gameplay. The calls to get him out of the house in fact come after he casually dropped the N-word in conversation.
The moment was caught not during one of the episodes that air on CBS but on the Paramount+ live feed, which allows fans to monitor the Big Brother house basically 24/7. It came on Wednesday morning, as Valentine was talking to fellow contestants.
During the conversation, he explains, “We were in the f–ing room, n—-,” but catches himself immediately. He tried to laugh it off and correct himself with “dude,” but the word still rang pretty clear. You can watch it here.
Within hours, fans online began calling for Luke’s expulsion from the house for his conduct.

When “Survivor” found itself nominated at this year’s Emmys in the Best Competition Program category (for the first time in 17 years), no one was more excited than the Tika Three. This fan-favorite alliance from “Survivor 44” is made up of winner Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho, finalist Carolyn Wiger and fourth-place finisher Carson Garrett, aka the “Three Stooges.” Amazingly, Yam Yam “manifested” this Emmy Award nomination last summer while speaking with host/producer Jeff Probst on the island during filming. “Jeff laughed it off, and it happened!” Carson explains. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
“Survivor” has won seven total Emmys through the years: four for Probst as Best Reality Host (2008-11), plus one each for Best Cinematography (2010), Best Sound Mixing (2001) and Best Non-Fiction Program (2001) — the latter being a “Special Class” award that was handed out before the current competition category was established.

The last time “Survivor” was nominated for Best Competition Program at the Emmys, George W. Bush was president, the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn’t even a thing yet, and nobody had ever heard of Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth or Parvati Shallow. The year was 2006 and “Survivor” was up for its fourth consecutive Emmy bid (for Seasons 11-12). It lost once again to “The Amazing Race,” and was never nominated again. Until now … 17 years later.
Awards pundits everywhere were shocked on the morning of July 12 when “Survivor” was named as one of the five nominees at the 2023 Emmys. This marks the reality TV show’s fifth total nomination in Best Competition Program after contending in 2003, ’04, ’05 and ’06. (It won the award for Best Non-Fiction Special Class Program in 2001 before the current Emmy category was created.)

The season finale “Survivor 44” aired on Wednesday night and concluded with host Jeff Probst crowning a new millionaire in Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho. The 36-year old from Puerto Rico defeated Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt and Carolyn Wiger after swaying the jury to believe he was the most deserving of the title of sole survivor. So for the final time this season, we look back at the dumbest, most shocking and most exciting moments of this memorable finale.

There are no cheap thrills for Sia — at least when it comes to being a “Survivor” superfan. After Wednesday’s “Survivor” season 44 finale, the celebrated songstress showed just how generous she really is by dolling out some cash to a few of her favourite contestants that came up just short of the show’s grand prize.
On Thursday, Sia surprised Carolyn Wiger, Carson Garrett and Lauren Harpe with some nifty consolation prizes after they all made it to the season 44 finale, but wound up going home empty handed.
Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho was crowned the “Sole Survivor” — and earned $1 million for his efforts – and Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt came in second place, and thus took home the $100,000 runner-up prize.
However, Wiger, Garrett and Harpe came in third, fourth and fifth respectively, meaning they essentially walked away empty handed. To take that sting away a bit, Sia swopped in with some whopping cash prizes of her own.

Pop singer Sia has once again taken her “Survivor” fandom to the next level by gifting $130,000 to her three favorite Season 44 contestants.
After Wednesday’s finale brought the latest season of the CBS reality competition series to a close, Sia presented second runner-up Carolyn Wiger with $100,000 and third and fourth runner-ups Carson Garrett and Lauren Harpe with $15,000 each.
The “Chandelier” performer crashed Pop Crave’s video interview with Harpe to notify her of the prize, leaving her shocked and confused before revealing her identity.

*Caution: Spoilers for Survivor season 44 ahead!*
Survivor crowned its newest winner on Wednesday, marking the conclusion of the show’s wild and exciting 44th season.
Of the 18 castaways who began competition in March, only five remained ahead of this week’s finale episode: Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, Carson Garrett, Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho, Lauren Harpe and Carolyn Wiger.
The three-hour conclusion covered the group’s final three days of competition, as the field was whittled down until the jury voted for the “sole survivor.” After all the votes were cast, Yam Yam wound up walking away with the well-earned win.
After an impressive season of strategic gameplay, some of the best social gameplay in recent memory, and an impressive display to the jury, the 36-year-old salon owner from San Juan, Puerto Rico, took home the show’s $1 million grand prize.

It’s the final stretch of “Survivor 44.” With only five contestants remaining, there is a lot of room left for maneuvering alliances, immunity wins and blindsides to getting to the final tribal council and pleading your case for winning the million dollar prize. As it stands, the three Tika members are looking pretty strong for the end and with all of them still intact, it is a certainty that at least one of them will make the Final 3, possibly all three. But there is also a good chance that one or both of the two women from the other tribes will join them. So who will win the season on Wednesday, May 24? Read on as we break down the winner odds of the last five contestants of the game.

The finale of Survivor Season 44 looms.
There's no denying this season has been chaotic, with one of the best all-around casts we've seen in years.
There may have been a few too many advantages and idols that interfered with the natural flow of the game, and some that didn't have any effect at all, some that were teases that left the game unceremoniously without a payoff.
But that's the "reality" part of a reality show -- even with heavy involvement on the production side (some might say interference), you can't deny that it's been entertaining.
Let's take a look at the Final Five and compare their chances of winning.
Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt
Heidi is the final remaining Soka. Originally from Puerto Rico, by way of Pittsburgh, Heidi is the oldest woman on the season, and the fact that she has made it to the finale with such a distinction is more...

This is a huge accomplishment,” she stated after leaving the game. Read on for Jaime’s “Survivor 44” exit interview from the end of the episode.
But Jaime’s confessional soon turned uncomfortably awkward, as she once again brought up her fake immunity idol that she believed to be real. “Finding an idol, that was one of my number-one goals and I’m so grateful,” she declared. “I am proud of myself for overcoming so many fears. One contestant who hasn’t gotten her fair share of screen time so far during “Survivor 44” is Lauren Harpe. But in a newly released sneak peek video, the 31-year-old educator from Texas delivers a confessional that’s all about her innermost feelings on quirky castaway Carolyn Wiger. Above, watch the clip before the 12th episode, “I’m the Bandit,” airs Wednesday, May 17 on CBS.
In the promo video, Lauren and Carolyn are searching for a hidden immunity idol in the jungle after Carolyn played hers for Carson Garrett at the prior tribal council. “We saw something at the top of this tree over here,” Lauren informs Carolyn. However, a suspicious Carolyn then wonders aloud, “Are you luring me? Is there a trap?”

CBS has released another “Survivor 44” deleted scene that takes place shortly after fan favorite Carolyn Wiger was blindsided at tribal council over her Bff Frannie Marin‘s elimination. During the four-minute clip, audiences get some more insight into what makes the 35-year-old drug counselor from Minnesota tick. Watch the unseen moment above.
It’s Day 20 at the Va Va camp and Carolyn is reflecting on how she yelled at allies Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho and Carson Garrett for not filling her in on the Frannie vote. She tells the camera, “My strategy waking up this morning after tribal was like, I need to get out of this funk.” Carolyn tries to center herself by sitting by the beach and looking out at the water.

Carolyn admits, “I was a little rude” when she yelled at Yam Yam and Carson, her fellow “three amigos” from the Tika camp.

On Wednesday’s 11th episode of “Survivor 44,” Danny Massa cut the mission to find out who cast a vote against him short, believing it to have been a member of Tika. That belief led him down a path to targeting Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho for the vote, but Yam Yam brought together the former Ratu members to oust Danny instead. Read on for his “Survivor 44” exit interview from the end of the episode.
For Danny, the vote should have been simple. With two Soka, two Ratu and three Tika in the game, the four non-Tika were supposed to align together to take out Yam Yam or Carson Garrett. Everyone was on board to take out Yam Yam, until he won his first immunity challenge and had safety. When the vote turned to Carson, the plan was still on, but Jaime Lynn Ruiz and Lauren Harpe were swayed by Tika to take out Danny instead.

Following this week’s elimination of Danny Massa, the final six contestants of “Survivor 44” have been named, and four of them are women: Carolyn Wiger, Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, Jaime Lynn Ruiz and Lauren Harpe. The other two remaining players are Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho and Carson Garrett, aka Carolyn’s fellow “three amigos” from the original Tika tribe. So will a woman win “Survivor 44”?
Since the new era of CBS’s reality TV show began with the Covid-delayed 41st season, two of the three winners have been female (Erika Casupanan in “Survivor 41” and Maryanne Oketch in “Survivor 42”), bucking the usual trend of men receiving the $1 million check. To date, 17 seasons of “Survivor” were won by women, compared to a whopping 26 cycles dominated by men. Last year, Mike Gabler was the champion of “Survivor 43,” the only...

Of the players eliminated so far on “Survivor 44,” Gold Derby asked viewers in our recent poll to name who should return for a future All-Stars season. The poll results are in and there is one name that tops the list of over two-thirds of voters: Frannie Marin! The only other castaway to earn more than 10% of the vote is Matthew Grinstead-Mayle, the adventurous superfan that left the game by choice due to a shoulder injury. (Note that we did not include Bruce Perreault as an option because Jeff Probst has already invited him back.)

CBS has released a “Survivor 44” deleted scene that takes place on Day 18 at the Va Va camp, and it’s a doozy. After Frannie Marin wins reward and takes Lauren Harpe, Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt and Carolyn Wiger with her to the Survivor Sanctuary, the other four players back at camp talk advantages. When Carson Garrett admits he’s “not good at” finding things, Danny Massa brags, “You guys have seen me. I’ve been looking.”
We then get quick-cuts of Danny searching for advantages in the jungle as he tearfully narrates, “The lack of food? It sucks. Really not fair. I feel like I could have been over there instead of … looking for this idol, dawg!” The 32-year-old New York firefighter bursts out laughing as he holds up the red triangular amulet, confirming his tears weren’t real.

On Wednesday’s 10th episode of “Survivor 44,” Frannie Marin felt the “renegade excitement” of not having protection at Tribal Council for the first time. Her two previous immunity challenge wins and another win at the reward put a target on her back that even her previous Soka allies were too intimidated by to let her remain in the game. Read on for her “Survivor 44” exit interview from the end of the episode.
The vote against Frannie began with Danny Massa putting her name on the table to the other three players that were not picked by her to partake in the reward. The challenge win was Frannie’s third out of five in the individual stage of the game and that made Danny nervous that she could be unbeatable in the end. CBS has released a “Survivor 44” sneak peek video for the Wednesday, May 3 episode, titled “Full Tilt Boogie,” and fans of Carson Garrett should get a kick out of it (watch above). The self-prescribed “space nerd” returns to camp after voting out Kane Fritzler, and he immediately starts spinning a web of lies to Kane’s former ally Jaime Lynn Ruiz about her fake idol (which she thought was real). Remember, Jaime gave it to Kane for safe keeping in case someone had a Knowledge Is Power advantage, and he ended up leaving with it in his sock.
“I focus my game upon relationships,” Carson tells the camera in a private confessional. “And so it’s really important for me to focus on damage control.” Carson then whispers to Jaime in the jungle that he always “wanted to work” with Kane, but that he couldn’t after Kane spilled the beans...

So far during this 44th season of “Survivor,” the players have gotten lucky with the weather in Fiji. But that all changes on Day 16 at Va Va, as the remaining nine castaways prepare for their first storm of the season. In CBS’s latest “Survivor 44” deleted scene, we see Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt and Frannie Marin walking through the jungle when they’re caught off guard by thunder and wind.
“What the hell?” shouts a confused Frannie. And Heidi responds, “That’s rain. Let’s go back, we’re gonna have to get ready.”

At camp, Carson Garrett tells Carolyn Wiger that he can tell rain is coming because he can see the “inflections in the light” in the distance. (Spoken like a true NASA nerd!) “I’m gonna try to start a fire,” Carson later remarks.

In the latest episode of Jeff Probst‘s “On Fire with Jeff Probst” podcast, the long-time “Survivor” host confesses that the CBS reality TV show is purposefully designed to be “seen through the eyes of kids.” The conversation came at the end of the podcast when a fan accused him of making the show only for himself.
“I don’t think he’s wrong in that yes, on some level, I am making ‘Survivor’ for me,” Probst readily admitted, as reported by Dalton Ross (EW). He then added, “But I will say that my version of the show, for me, is seen through the eyes of kids. So that is my point of view.”

Probst later added, “Everybody knows that works with me, I say, ‘Imagine a 7-year-old at home imagining they’re the one making fire, they’re the one who found an idol.

Probst later added, “Everybody knows that works with me, I say, ‘Imagine a 7-year-old at home imagining they’re the one making fire, they’re the one who found an idol.

On Wednesday’s eighth episode of “Survivor 44,” Brandon Cottom was blindsided by the successful use of the Soka birdcage idol. Going into the vote, Brandon felt like the Ratu four were running the game and that he could assemble a unanimous vote against Frannie Marin, but his buddy Danny Massa had other plans. Read on for Brandon’s “Survivor 44” exit interview from the end of the episode.
After Brandon, Jaime Lynn Ruiz and Lauren Harpe secured the elimination of Matt Blankinship, the non-Ratu players realized there was a clear divide in the game between Ratu and Soka fighting for power. That left Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho, Carolyn Wiger and Carson Garrett in the middle as “the three stooges” of Tika who could play the middle between the two sides. Having saved Yam Yam in the previous vote, Brandon believed that he’d work with Ratu against Soka and that Carolyn would follow suit.

According to Gold Derby’s predictions, Carolyn is the person viewers think will ultimately win the game. She started out as a bit of wildcard, having trouble connecting to her fellow Tika tribe members. The only person she felt close with was Bruce Perreault, but then he was medically evacuated due to a head injury. After Tika lost an early immunity challenge, Carson found himself in the middle between two pairs:...

If you thought last week’s episode of “Survivor 44” was a tearjerker, we hope you stock up on tissues for the April 19 hour, titled “Don’t Get Cocky, Kid.” To recap, the Fratt showmance of Frannie Marin and Matt Blankinship was abruptly ended last Wednesday after the remaining 11 players were divided into two groups and Matt was ousted. When Episode 8 begins, Frannie is openly weeping as she deals with her personal loss. Watch the sneak peek video above.
“Worst possible outcome happened at tribal council,” the 23-year-old research coordinator from Boston tells the camera as she breaks down. “Matt, my best friend out here, my closest ally in this game, got voted out. Now that he’s gone, I feel like I’ve been marooned with nothing all over again.”
As for why she’s so emotional, Frannie explains in a confessional, “Matt felt like home to me here. And...

As the game heads in to what should be the first straight-forward merge vote of “Survivor 44,” where we hope all Top 10 players left have a say in who goes home next, the game seems to have split unevenly down original tribal lines. Brandon Cottom, Jaime Lynn Ruiz and Lauren Harpe took the upper hand in episode 7 to cut down the Soka numbers by one, but have curiously left Kane Fritzler on the outside looking in. Soka members Danny Massa, Heidi Lagares-Greenblat and Frannie Marin are now in defense mode, while Tika contestants Carson Garrett, Carolyn Wiger and Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho are still trying to find out how they fit in to the plans.
In our third power rankings list of the season, we break the Top 10 down into two groups: the five in the Best position and the five in the Worst. Below are our picks for the players...
