Quite a lot happened in this episode. Oliver (Stephen Amell) was saved by Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) but he was not pleased that Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (David Ramsey) revealed his secret identity. We also saw a ton of super strength SFX on display thanks to Miracle/ Mirakuru. Cyrus Gold (Graham Shiels) once again put a serious hurting on Oliver but we also saw the drugs' effects on Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett). It will be interesting to see how the flashback stories on the island progress as Shado (Celina Jade) was killed by 'Professor' Ivo (Dylan Neal) but Slade says that whoever was responsible would feel his wrath. The obvious conclusion would be that he will find out that Oliver chose to save Sara (Caity Lotz) and so Slade will blame him but it's never a good idea to assume the obvious on Arrow.

Where does one even start? ‘Arrow’ delivered its best episode to date with ‘Three Ghosts,’ a midseason finale extravaganza that found Oliver Queen dealing with his, well, three ghosts. But that’s not all —by the end of the night two bodies hit the floor, one epic villain was revealed and Barry Allen began his transition into The Flash. Oh, and did I mention that Oliver isn’t wearing that terrible eye makeup anymore? Yeah, this one was a doozy.
The episode was called “Three Ghosts” for a damn good reason. The Arrow midseason finale found Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) confronting ghosts from his past Christmas Carol-style, after Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) saved his life with a bit of rat poison. Read all about Oliver’s shocking past — including that murderous reveal — below!

I’ll give the CW’s “Arrow” this — they sure know how to tease and surprise you. Yesterday’s episode, the first of a two-parter that introduces Barry Allen aka The Flash, was all about playing with comic book fanboy expectations. Lightning, chemicals in beakers everywhere, all that “I’m always late” dialogue. And the show can still surprise you, even if the surprises don’t always make a lick of sense. Arrow shooting ol Roy in the leg? I didn’t see that coming! Check out a promo for next week’s episode, “Three Ghosts”. Looks like it’s all Arrow, and very little Barry Allen. Of course, that’s also a pretty clever way to hide what’s about to happen to ol Barry. I’m guessing it’ll be less chemicals in beakers and more particle accelerator mayhem. After a fight with Cyrus Gold Aka the Acolyte...

What did you guys think of Arrow episode 2x08 "The Scientist"? It's the first of a two-part mid-season finale which means all the immediate questions raised this episode won't have their answers revealed until next Wednesday. Once again, the fight scenes are what really shines on the show, James Bamford can do no wrong in my book. A tv show has to keep their display of super powers very minimal so they don't burn through their budget, yet Arrow still captured super strength perfectly. Going up against a pseudo-Solomon Grundy (Graham Shiels), Arrow got punched, kicked and thrown all over the place. These scenes could have looked extremely fake, making it obvious the actors were on wires but the editing and stuntwork by the Arrow team was top-notch. Looking online, the consensus seems to be that Grant Gustin works fine as a tv Barry Allen, but most were...

A new plot synopsis for the upcoming ninth episode of the second season of The CW's "Arrow," the show's mid-season finale, suggests the inclusion of another major DC villain. Here's the synopsis:
"After a fight with Cyrus Gold (Graham Shiels), Oliver is drugged and left for dead. Determined to cure him, Felicity makes a risky decision. The cure causes Oliver to hallucinate, and what he sees forces him to confront his past.
Meanwhile, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) continues to help Felicity, and their connection grows stronger. The Arrow asks Lance to look into Gold, but when the stakeout on Gold goes bad, someone is killed."
In DC comics lore, Cyrus Gold was the human name of the man who would become the zombie-like Batman villain Solomon Grundy. It's unknown at this time if we'll see Gold turn into Grundy within the context of the series.

Why is it that, for the second time now, rain delay causes a sporting event to get in the way of our favorite Fox shows? In October it was the World Series pre-empting Fringe because of some pesky rain delay. Then to add insult to injury, the Daytona 500 got moved to last Monday night, again because of some pesky rain delay. I’m starting to think that Dr. Walter Bishop and Dr. Lucy Banerjee need to start working on a solution to this pesky rain delay issue.
While we wait, how about checking out the synopsis and very creepy trailer for tonight’s new episode of Alcatraz Starting At Eight O’Clock. That’s right, folks, we’re getting two Alcatrazes (Alcatrai?) tonight, but not because of the delay; they had always planned on showing two episodes tonight.
