Steven Nativi, aka Sifu Ming Fan, is the founder and instructor at Ming House Ving Tsun, a 3rd generation Yip Man (Ip Man) lineage school under the Moy Yat family. He is a well respected martial artist in his community who strives to preserve kung fu by way of kung fu life. In 2009, he was diagnosed with a rare disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS); this disease never stopped him from going after his dreams. It was with the help of his wife, family, students, and friends that he was able to overcome his disability and achieve his goals.
Born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia into a military family, Steven has learned to adapt to a constantly moving lifestyle. Always on his feet, he has acquired a taste for traveling; he has traveled to many places around the world, including Japan and China. During a trip to Hong Kong with his wife and disciples, he had the opportunity to meet the Ip brothers and train at the Ving Tsun Athletic Association Headquarters. That trip in particular brought a wealth of knowledge to the Ming House family.
With a passion for all things martial arts, he sought out other creative ways to learn, spread, and share the arts to those around him. Those ways eventually spread to platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc. Forming partnerships with Ballistic Blade Entertainment LLC, and formerly working with Martial Club and others for a time, has helped garner interest and recognition in the martial arts community. Steven is always working on new ideas and innovative ways to help keep the arts alive; like working in the film industry. Long live the kung fu life!
