Earlier this week, we learned that iconic slasher Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise will be a playable character in Warner Bros. and Player First Games’ upcoming video game MultiVersus, a free-to-play platform fighter game that will be making its way out into the world on May 28th as “a free download for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), with full cross-play and cross-progression support.” Now Jason has gotten his own gameplay trailer, which can be seen in the embed above.
As a press release notes, this trailer show us that “Jason towers over the competition as a Tank class character with a scary moveset that incorporates his axe and machete weapons, teleporting ability to show up right behind opponents and stuff them into a sleeping bag, fatally folding a bed in half to launch enemies off the map,...

Back in November, Mark Hamill told fans at Fan Expo San Francisco that he would no longer be portraying the Clown Prince of Gotham.
Despite being considered by many to be the best Joker of all time, Hamill believed he just couldn't play the role unless it was opposite Kevin Conroy's Batman. Conroy, who voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman across several projects, passed away in November 2022.
But it seems there was a little caveat that allowed for Hamill to reprise the iconic villain role one final time in an upcoming game called MultiVersus. As it turns out, prior to his passing, Kevin Conroy also voiced Batman in the fighting game. It's perhaps for this reason that Hamill made an exception to his previous statement and returned to the role of Joker in the game.
For those unfamiliar, MultiVersus is a free-to-play platform fighter, in the same vein as Nintendo's Super Smash Bros.

New images from the latest Adventure Time spin-off revealed a first look at an adult take on the series' primary protagonist - Finn the Human.
Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake is currently on its ten-episode run on Max, following Fionna the Human and Cake the Cat, the gender-swapped versions of series mainstays Finn and Jake the Dog who appeared in several episodes of the mainline series.
While Adventure Time was previously skewed younger, Fionna & Cake is being sold as a young adult series. This comes with a hope of picking up fans who grew up watching the original series, as Fionna and Cake go on a "multi-verse hopping journey of self-discovery" (via Warner Bros.)

This Adventure Time: Distant Lands review contains no spoilers.
Finn the Human (Jeremy Shada) and Jake the Dog (John Dimaggio) are back together! That is, if Finn can find his trusty stretchy shape-shifting dog pal in territory both familiar and uncharted. Set after the 2018 Adventure Time finale “Come Along with Me,” this is the first Distant Lands post-series special to shine the spotlight on our beloved adventurous boy-and-dog duo. It’s an answer to what happened after their happily-ever-after survival of the Gum War and defeat of Golb.
As the third and penultimate part of the Distant Lands miniseries on HBO Max, “Together Again” opens like the good old days in the oddball land of Ooo: the extreme zoom showing off the oddball-populated breath of the world, the serene ukulele-strumming theme song opening, and an immediate dive into the formula of adventurous weirdity that would make newbie viewers go “Wtf.

Photo: ‘Disenchantment: Season 3’/Netflix All Style, Little Substance The Netflix original series ‘Disenchantment’ returned for a third season over the weekend, offering another batch of ten, 30-minute episodes. From the creators of Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein, the Netflix animated, action-adventure comedy first premiered in 2018 to a (somewhat) positive reception—Season 1 holds a “62% Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes; the series returned for Season 2 in 2019 to a warmer reception. The show’s so-so success is pretty surprising, considering the series is helmed by Groening and features a genuinely funny and talented cast, including series’ regulars like Abbi Jacobson, Eric Andre, Nat Faxon (Elfo), and John Dimaggio. Dimaggio is an especially talented comedic voice actor, having voiced popular animated characters such as Bender from the ‘Futurama’ series, Jake the Dog on ‘Adventure Time,’ as well as iconic video game characters like Marcus Fenix from Xbox’s ‘Gears of War.’ Related article:...

John Dimaggio is the famed voice actor behind Bender in Futurama, Jake the Dog in Adventure Time and dozens of other iconic animated roles. Most recently, he starred in the Audible fiction podcast Vroom Vroom, in which he plays a ruthless car salesman looking to put his rivals in upstate New York out of business.
In Rolling Stone‘s Voice Acting 101, Dimaggio explains that his technique all comes down to knowing the character inside and out.

HBO Max subscribers won’t have to wait much longer to venture to distant lands. The streaming service has unveiled the first four minutes of “Bmo,” the first of four “Adventure Time: Distant Lands” hour-long specials that will premiere on HBO Max. The “Bmo” episode hits the streaming service on June 25.
It’s been nearly three years since the beloved Cartoon Network show aired its season finale, but “Bmo” is shaping up to offer plenty of laughs for longtime “Adventure Time” fans despite its far-out location. The upcoming episode centers on Bmo, the Gameboy-shaped robot from the original series. The episode kicks off on a whimsical note as Bmo pilots a spaceship towards Mars with the intent to start a tater tot farm — because why bother with spacefaring if you’re not going to start a tater tot farm on Mars? — while Bmo serenades their hat with a song.

“The Simpsons” added to their long-standing record for most wins in the Best Animated Program category when they picked up their 11th trophy at Saturday night’s Creative Arts ceremony for the episode “Mad About the Toy.” The victory was a shocker since the show was ranked last in our predictions center with 9/2 odds of winning.
In the episode, Grandpa is babysitting the kids when he gets freaked out by the sight of some plastic green Army men. This leads to the family finding out that he had modeled for the infamous toy and also got the photographer, who was gay, fired from the shoot. Directors’ trademarks is a series of articles that examines the “signatures” that filmmakers leave behind in their work. This month, we’re looking at the trademark style and calling signs of James Cameron as director.
In college, James Cameron decided that he wanted to be a screenwriter. He switched from majoring in Physics to majoring in English, before eventually deciding to drop out and raise money to start his career. During that time, he worked many odd jobs, until he was finally inspired by Star Wars in 1977 to start his career in the film industry. In the early 1980’s he first worked as a miniature model builder at Roger Corman studios, demonstrating a talent for creating innovative special effects. Over time, he became a production designer, and special effects director. In 1981, he was a special effects director for the film Piranha II: The Spawning. Numerous production delays cost the original director his job,...
