With plenty of macho fights, practical stunts and shoot-outs, Strike Back was an uncomplicated action TV show par excellence...
Action series Strike Back is destined to never be included in the pantheon of great TV shows. While The Sopranos or Breaking Bad are held in such high regard for their superlative writing, acting and drama, Strike Back will instead be remembered for the kick-ass action, gratuitous nudity and excellent chemistry between the lead actors.
For fans of the show, that’s a good enough legacy.
So what is it about Strike Back – which can best be described as the lovechild of 24 and a Cannon Group action movie – that works so well? In this case it might just the very thing that keeps it off the 'Greatest TV Shows Ever' lists; its simplicity. For the most part the show is a meat-and-potatoes action thriller, containing all the elements...

This new animated series is adapted from the original book, Halo: The Fall of Reach, and follows the youth and shaping of Spartan 117, The Master Chief…
Halo - say that word to any gamer (and even a few non-gamers) and they will know what you’re talking about. It’s huge. As a flagship title, it dominated my teenage Xbox years and I am sure many of my friends remember how appalling I was (and still am) at the first person sci-fi shooter which defined a generation. Of course there have been books, comics, spin-offs of the series, and The Fall of Reach is the latest animated film to come out.

Thanks to some delays in production, it's taken a long time for the new season of Strike Back to make it to our TV screens. We already know that it's the final season of the action series on Cinemax so there's no worry about the action series being cancelled. Was it worth the wait? Will it bring great ratings? Stay tuned.
On the final season of Strike Back, Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) of the elite British intelligence undercover unit Section 20 set out to crack a missing-persons case in Bangkok. They quickly realize that what seems to be a simple kidnapping is actually the first step in a massive terrorist plot with global implications. The rest of the cast includes Robson Green, Michelle Lukes, and Milauna Jackson.

Holding court at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Thursday, Cinemax threw Strike Back fans a bone by narrowing the premiere date for the delayed fourth and final season down to “summer 2015.”

The final season of "Strike Back" has the potential for even more bad-assery than usual, based on the just-announced guest cast. The action drama, co-produced by Cinemax and the UK's Sky 1, resumed production on its fourth and final season, following a brief hiatus caused by star Sullivan Stapleton getting injured away from the set. For the final year, Stapleton, Philip Winchester and the rest of the returning crew (including Robson Green, Michelle Lukes and Milauna Jackson as members of British special forces unit Section 20) will be joined by a set of actors with impressive action bonafides: * Michelle Yeoh, one of the greatest action stars ever produced by international cinema, and star of one of the best action movies ever made ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"); * Dustin Clare from Starz's very violent "Spartacus" franchise (plus fellow "Spartacus" alum Christian Antidormi); * Adrian Paul, who brandished a sword many times as star of the...

Calling all Section 20 fans. Cinemax has just revealed that Strike Back will be renewed for a fourth season on the premium cable network. Season 4 will also be the final season of Strike Back.
Although Cinemax hasn’t announced which cast members will return yet, based on the season 3 finale we can presume that Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton, Michelle Lukes and Robson Green will all be returning for Strike Back‘s final hurrah.
Of course, since characters tend to die often on the Cinemax show, the real question is… Who will survive the Strike Back series finale? I’m guessing either Scott or Stonebridge will make the “big” sacrifice to close out the show. After last season’s close-out regarding Scott’s son, perhaps Stonebridge will lay down his life so that Scott can retire and be the dad he was meant to be. It would be an interesting reversal since...

The season 3 finale of Strike Back is here. And once again, betrayal is the order of the day. Here’s an Exclusive look at episode 3.10.
Without giving anything away, I’ll just say that Locke and Scott are pretty pissed off. Matter of fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Scott so strapped for words.
You can catch Strike Back on Friday night at 10Pm on Cinemax.
Photos below feature Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Robson Green and Michelle Lukes.

We’re in the penultimate episode of this season of Strike Back. And this just happens to be the episode that we’ve been waiting for since Comic Con. No great action movie (or TV series as the case may be) is complete without a fight on-top of a moving train. This episode has just that. You can check out the gallery bellow to see Stonebridge and Scott getting their Strike Back on, atop a train.
The cool thing about this sequence is that Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton did their own stunts. So when you see one hanging off a train and the other riding a bike in front of it, that’s not green screen or stunt doubles.
Here’s a clip from Episode 29. When we first met Locke, he “appeared” to just another pencil pusher up the ladder of Section 20. Now, he’s showing just how dark he can be,...

“Sergeant Damian Scott, do you have a death wish?”
If there are two styles of comedic scenes I like on Strike Back, it’s: (1) when Stonebridge and Scott are trapped behind but find time to riff about topics and (2) when Scott is flirting with a new girl.
This new clip from Strike Back Season 3 Episode 8 is something of a combination of those two styles. We have Scott and Piragova trapped in a jail cell. The two begin to argue, but Scott can’t help but add in his patented come-on lines – even when he’s the butt of the joke.
Also, if any of the Section 20 fans out there haven’t heard the news, Philip Winchester was just cast in a Joe Mazzello (The Pacific, The Social Network) indie flick, entitled Undrafted. It will be the directorial debut for Mazzello. The film will also feature Matt Barr (Hatfields and McCoys...

Strike Back Season 3 Episode 6
We’ve crossed the halfway point in Strike Back season three… and you know what I’m still waiting for, right?
With the Emmy Awards right around the corner, I’m anxious to hear a green light on Strike Back Season 4 – especially with Strike Back Origins on deck for October.
For now, we’ve got a new clip from episode 26. This takes place back at Section 20, where Stonebridge and Scott are discussing their plans following Locke’s capture. Stonebridge’s health is still an issue as the team decides what to do about preempting Al-Zuhari’s next steps.
Photos below feature: Catherine Walker, Michelle Lukes, Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester.

Strike Back Season 3 Episode 4
We’ve got an exclusive clip from this week’s episode of Strike Back. If you thought Leatherby was vile before, you’re going to want to check out what he has in store for Kamali’s family this week.
Although Kamali tried to walk away from Section 20, Dalton’s orders have completely compromised his position. Now, he’s going to learn the true cost of betrayal – and it may cost him more than a bullet through the hand.

Strike Back is a Cinemax scripted thriller series which takes story lines directly from today's headlines. Viewers join two members of Section 20, a top-secret intelligence agency, as they take on exciting and mysterious cases around the globe. Researched by the creators of the series and aided by consultants, the action-packed drama is rooted in the field of counter-terrorism and set against the backdrop of timely global issues. We’ve got a pretty awesome new clip from Strike Back Season 3 Episode 2. This clip features a high-speed car chase, where Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) and Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) are racing away from the cartel. There are a few cool cinematic shots of the cartel targeting Scott and Stonebridge with a shotgun. Bodies and coconuts hit the floor with style. You’ll just have to watch and see.
I’m still anxious to see what happens to Dalton (Rhona Mitra). Hopefully, she finishes her vengeance mission in Beirut unscathed. I’d hate to see another member of the Section 20 team bite it. Plus, it’s always good to see the Dalton, Scott, Stonebridge dynamic. Perhaps it’s just me, but I think there’s some lingering sexual tension from last season – between Dalton and our team – that needs to be shown off and worked out in true Strike Back fashion.

Hey, check it out, fans of awesome things. One of the most awesome things on TV right now, Cinemax’s “Strike Back” is returning to the airwaves tonight for its third season (fourth season if you’re counting the British version). That’s right, there’s finally a reason to stay home on Fridays and watch TV! (Or, er, just DVR it and come back and watch it later. I mean, what is this, 2008?) Check out a preview of “Strike Back’s” Season 3 premiere episode below: Enjoying a long-deserved vacation, Scott and Stonebridge are recalled after a fellow Section 20 member dies while pursuing the elusive terrorist al-Zuhari in Beirut. Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton return as Stonebridge and Scott, respectively, along with Rhona Mitra as their boss and the always criminally underused Michelle Lukes. Robson Green and Milauna Jackson join the current season.

The boys would be Sullivan Stapleton (who is about to blow up when he stars in “300: Rise of an Empire” next year) and Philip Winchester, who, well, you probably have no idea who he is unless you’re a “Strike Back” fan. The girls would be Rhona Mitra, who joined the action-packed Cinemax show last year, and the always shamefully underused Michelle Lukes, who, hopefully, will have a lot more to do this year. Season 3 finds the gang in South America dealing with baddies, as per usual. Which is a nice change of pace. The last two years have been Middle Eastern terrorists and that was getting a little old, though there were some cool African jaunts in Season 2. (Note: I’m calling this Season 3 because that’s the official designation Stateside; this is actually the show’s fourth season, with Season 1 starring another pair of leading man, including...

This may be one of my favorite Summer TV seasons ever – thanks to cable TV. Series finales for Dexter and Breaking Bad are on deck, as well as two new cable dramas: The Bridge on FX and Ray Donovan on Showtime.
This August we’ve also got Strike Back, one of our favorite series, returning to Cinemax. Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) are heading back into action – this time in Columbia. Sadly, they’ll be without Maj. Oliver Sinclair (Rhashan Stone) after last season’s shocker. Damn, just writing that makes my eyes misty. Time to take one more shot for an old favorite.
The new trailer for Strike Back season 3 was just released from Cinemax. In addition to the usual Stonebridge and Scott gunplay, we’ve got more field action with Sgt. Julia Richmond (Michelle Lukes) and Maj. Rachel Dalton (Rhona Mitra) to balance out the testosterone.

“All revolutions have their martyrs.” – Knox (Charles Dance, Game of Thrones)
In the past six episodes of Strike Back’s second season on Cinemax, the series has shifted beyond a mere action tale. This isn’t the Expendables 2, filled with glitzy action and enough one-liners to make your head explode.
Strike Back is a soldier’s story. Terrorist threats are no longer Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Scott’s (Sullivan Stapleton) sole motivation. Now, they’re going up against their internal demons. Season 2 is a deeper, more personal saga.
In Episode 2.5, Scott made a connection with Rebecca (Lyne Renee), which was as physical as it was psychological. As aggressive as Rebecca was in bed, Scott recognized that she was someone who had “given up” – much like he had done before coming to Section 20. These were two soldiers, working in the field and dealing with Ptsd in their own way.

He’s back!
After a Strike Back’s tragic two-part season 2 premiere, Stonebridge is back at Section 20. But, is Section 20 ready to have Stonebridge back on the team? In this new preview clip, we get a cursory look inside the soldier’s tormented psyche. Also, we get a look at the growing rivalry between Maj. Oliver Sinclair (Rhashan Stone) and Section 20′s new leader Rachel Dalton (Rhona Mitra).
Editor’S Pick: Strike Back Season 2: Deadlier, Personal Threats & Grab-Your-Gut Thrills Abound
Check out these action-packed stills from the Niger mission. It looks like we’ll be seeing more of Michelle Lukes in the field as Sgt. Julia Richmond.
So far, I’m enjoying Dalton’s addition to the team. Similar to Amanda Mealing as Col. Grant, Dalton’s hiding secrets. However, Dalton appears to be acting more out of her own agenda, using Section 20 as a means to an end.

The boys are back in town.
Strike Back ended its first season on Cinemax by throwing caution out the window and blowing it up. It was a finale that made this show one of the best new series of 2011. However, after the tumultuous closing events, it left fans with several questions.
After deciding to leave Section 20 to raise a family, how would Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) be brought back into the fold? What would happen to the secret MI6 group following last year’s exposed conspiracy? Who would be the new head of Section 20? Now that the conspiracy and Latif, terrorist threat is over and done with, what would be the new story arc to lead us through the 2012 season? Which woman would be next to catch Scott’s (Sullivan Stapleton) wandering eye?
The series returned for its second go-round in the Us with a familiar opening. Shit hits the fan.

Strike Back is the Cinemax scripted thriller series which takes storylines from today's headlines. We’re nearing the conclusion of the freshman season of Strike Back on Cinemax. With Season 2 on the way, it’s time to start wondering whether or not the suspected security leak inside Section 20 will be revealed by the season finale. I’m hoping it’s not Maj. Oliver Sinclair (Rhashan Stone). He showed off his worth in the Tahir (Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje) mission so I would hate to find out that he was working for the other side. However, he’s been questioning Scott’s judgment a little too much of late, often bringing up criticism to Col. Eleanor Grant’s (Amanda Mealing). You have to wonder if he’s not trying to set the team up for failure. Grant’s (Amanda Mealing) vendetta with Latif (Jimi Mistry) seems genuine. Also, she’s got a pass after she took out Daniel Connolly (Liam Cunningham) in episode 4. So, if there is a leak,...

Cinemax’s first primetime drama series Strike Back is a keeper. HBO’s sibling cable network has picked up a 10-episode second season of the action series to air next year. Filming will begin in South Africa in early 2012. Returning as producing partners to Cinemax/HBO are Left Bank and Sky, which will air the series in the U.K. Also coming back are Left Bank’s Andy Harries and Sky’s Huw Kennair-Jones as executive producers, series producer Michael Casey, head of production Marigo Kehoe, series directors Bill Eagles, who will direct four new episodes, Paul Wilmshurst, who will direct two episodes, and writer Tony Saint, who will write a number of episodes and co-executive produce. There must be major deaths coming in the final episodes of Season 1 of Strike Back, which ends Oct. 21, as Cinemax declined to announce the cast for Season 2 “due to plot spoilers in upcoming...
