Love Productions USA (The Great American Baking Show) is set to produce Rhino Reboot, a series following the rebuilding of perennial underdog soccer team, The Rochester Rhinos, after sealing a deal with newly announced co-owners Jamie Vardy and David and Wendy Dworkin.
The Rhinos, a club that has struggled to find itself and establish a winning streak, last played professionally in the 2017 Usl season, but are anticipating a turnaround as they gear up for action in 2022.
The series will document the growth of the franchise as global football phenom Vardy and the Dworkins fill senior roles, including identifying a head coach and chief business officer, sourcing talented young local players who haven’t yet played at the competitive level, and trying to build a team both on and off the pitch. Rhino Reboot will have unfettered access to management, the coaching team, the owners, players and backroom staff. Vardy was...

Great British soccer star Jamie Vardy has teamed up with Love Productions USA on a new documentary series, “Rhino Reboot,” that will see him attempt to rebuild underdog soccer team The Rochester Rhinos.
Vardy, a Premier League soccer player who has also played for England, co-owns the Rhinos along with Sacramento Kings co-owners David and Wendy Dworkin. The series will offer exclusive access to the team’s management, coaching team, owners, players and staff as Vardy and his colleagues re-boot the Rhinos’ image and, hopefully, their performance as they make a bid for glory in 2022.
Among Vardy and the Dworkins’ first tasks will be finding a head coach and chief business officer, scouting for young players and building a team.

John Cleese on the set of ‘The Naked Wanderer’
When Callan Durlik wrote the character of a media mogul in romantic comedy The Naked Wanderer, he thought of John Cleese but doubted the Fawlty Towers star would be gettable.
With the enthusiasm of a first-time feature writer-producer, Durlik sent a synopsis to Cleese, who then asked to see the script.
Two days later Cleese was in. The Perth-based writer subsequently spent two days with the Englishman in his London office, workshopping lines and bouncing ideas.
He filmed all his scenes in London, playing Brian King, the uncle of Cameron King (Durlik), whose best mate Jake (Angus McLaren) decides to walk 4,000 km up the coast of Western Australia, clad only in a loin cloth.
Jake’s purpose ostensibly is to raise money for charity but his ulterior motive is to win back his former girlfriend Jasmine (Megan Hajjar), who jilted him.

1990's Five Nations was not a happy one. Margaret Thatcher was still Prime Minister, and had cleverly decided to use Scotland as a testing ground for the Poll Tax. Welcome to The Grudge.Unsurprisingly, the people of Scotland were not happy. At all. But their rugby team were doing well, beating Ireland, Wales and France before squaring off with "the real enemy": England.Somehow, through sheer determination and force of will, they won, nabbing the Grand Slam and making ol' Engerland look, well, rather stupid. As any rugby fan will tell you, it was a pretty big deal. And it's to become a big deal once again, with Bedlam Productions, the team behind the Oscar-winning King's Speech, securing the rights to sports journalist Tom English's book on the subject, The Grudge: Scotland vs. England.King's Speech producer Simon Egan will direct the film as well as produce it...

It was an awards bash to remember as Simon Egan's 15-month-old child damages his Academy award
It is one of the cast-iron rules of the Academy Awards that disaster must follow triumph, that the shine must come off the statue and that the morning after is never quite so wonderful as the night before. For evidence look no further than the cautionary tale of Simon Egan, co-producer of The King's Speech, who rashly entrusted his Oscar to his infant daughter Lara. She promptly dropped it.
Catastrophe struck at an awards party in Hollywood, just hours after The King's Speech had scooped the crowning awards. Lara, 15 months, was clasping the statue when he slipped from her grasp and clattered on the concrete. "We rushed over to look at the damage and saw a bashed head and gold plating fallen off the chest, a damaged shoulder and a dented stand," Egan told the Telegraph newspaper.

The King's Speech co-producer Simon Egan's Oscars triumph was dented after his toddler daughter dropped his prized trophy during the post-ceremony celebrations.
The acclaimed movie won Best Picture at Hollywood's biggest prizegiving last month, as well as Oscars for star Colin Firth, director Tom Hooper and screenwriter David Seidler.
Egan and co-producer Gareth Unwin headed to their rented house in Tinseltown to celebrate a stellar night, and his 15-month-old daughter, Lara, was handed the golden statue to pose for a picture.
But the party came to an abrupt halt when the tot dropped the prized accolade on the cement pavement, knocking off a huge chunk of gold plating.
Egan tells Britain's Daily Mail, "Like everyone else I was celebrating off in one corner of the garden with some friends when I saw my daughter looking very cute with the Oscar having her picture taken.
"And then I saw that horrific moment where the statue just fell and it didn't fall on the grass - it fell on the concrete. The horror was evident on everyone's face as they all went, 'Oh s**t.' We rushed over to look at the damage and saw a bashed head and gold plating fallen off the chest, a damaged shoulder and a dented stand.
"My first thought was 'Oh god, what is that going to look like on the mantelpiece! It is a thing of beauty and my daughter had destroyed it, albeit unwittingly. We were all terrified."
However, the problem was quickly rectified by a visit to the Academy offices in Beverly Hills the following day.
Egan adds, "They gave us a brand spanking new Oscar within minutes after a lady wearing gloves took our damaged one away."...

King George VI is the latest British royal to get the big screen treatment: Colin Firth has signed on to play the monarch in "The King's Speech," and the Weinstein Co. has snapped up rights for North America and a host of other territories.
Tom Hooper, whose resume includes HBO's "Elizabeth I" and "John Adams" will direct the feature, which shoots later this year aiming for a 2010 release, from a script by David Seidler.
Firth will play George VI, known as Bertie, the father of the current Queen Elizabeth II, who assumed the throne when his brother Edward VIII abdicated in 1936 to marry Wallis Simpson. The film will focus on his efforts to overcome a nervous stammer with the help of speech therapist Lionel Logue, to be played by Geoffrey Rush. The two actors previously starred together in "Shakespeare in Love."

- If finances weren't on the rebound, the Weinsteins wouldn't be making announcements like this one - especially of the rights bought before the principal photography type. Twc have picked up multiple territory rights (including their own turf) to The King's Speech. Tom Hooper (John Adams) will take the director's chair and project will include a pair of actors who, at this point in their careers, must be fed up with playing dress up. At least Brit/Aussie actors have a corner of the market covered - anything having to do with 16th to 18th. Lensing begins this year for a 2010 release. The King's Speech tells the story of the man who would become King George VI, the father of the current Queen, Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George ‘Bertie’ VI (Colin Firth) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded nervous stammer and considered unfit to be King,
