Devlyn Camp is a writer/performer known for producing & hosting 'Queer Serial: LGBTQ+ American History,' a 5-season critically acclaimed podcast chronicling queer liberation in the U.S. throughout the 20th century. An alum of Columbia College Chicago, they have worked and performed in Chicago theatre productions and on the radio while earning a bachelor's degree in writing & production for television.
Camp has been listed on the Windy City Times' '30 Under 30' list, and featured in the Chicago Tribune for their podcast. They have worked as a journalist and historian for the Chicago Reader, Tribune, & Sun-Times, and for their work reporting for them.us Camp received a 2021 Excellence in Journalism Award from NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists and a 2021 GLAAD Award nomination for Outstanding Journalism. Devlyn has spoken at the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco, at the first-ever Queer History Conference at SF State University, and presented on several other panels, including ONE Archives Educators' Webinar series, Seattle's Museum of Pop Culture, and Columbia College's Flipping the Script interview series in which Devlyn interviewed 'Transparent' creator Joey Soloway.
Devlyn also co-hosted and produced 'They & Them' a queer news radio show & podcast in Chicago, and also produced the podcast 'On the Mic: OutSpoken LGBTQ+ Storytelling' for one of Chicago's oldest gay bars, Sidetrack. As activists in Chicago, Devlyn Camp & Jen Freitag were instrumental in removing the exclusionary 'Boystown' marketing nickname from the Legacy Walk & queer bar strip in Lakeview, Chicago in favor of a more inclusive name for all LGBTQ+ people.
Camp's documentary about archiving the life of legendary gay activist Randy Wicker is in production.
