One of Disney’s greatest treasures has been with us for 22 years. It was on June 24, 1994 that The Lion King opened in theaters across the country. The tale of a Simba stepping into the light and into his father’s footsteps was an instant hit with both audiences and critics, and it earned four Oscar nominations for its breathtaking music, winning two of those — one for Hans Zimmer’s score and one for Elton John and Tim Rice-penned song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” The Lion King has remained one of Disney’s most celebrated and beloved films, and that was clear when its 3D re-release hit theaters in 2011, becoming a box office juggernaut as parents who were young upon the original release of the film towed their young ones to the theater for the treat of seeing the beauty of the animated savannah on the big screen again.

Home video clip show You've Been Framed! is an ITV Saturday teatime stalwart. It first arrived in 1990 and is now in the enviable position of airing its 29th series. Its current incarnation, presented by Harry Hill since 2004, hit preciselythe sweet spot between comic absurdity and human suffering.

Los Angeles, July 28: Actress Naomi Watts, who will be seen in the title role in Lady Diana biopic, says she enjoys spending time with her family rather than worrying about her career.
The 44-year-old, who has two sons - Alexander, six, and Samuel, five - with her long-term partner, actor Liev Schreiber, has taken a backseat and is enjoying it, reports contactmusic.com.
"I still feel very ambitious and you always want to find the next great project. But it's a very different feeling now than when I was struggling to get parts," Ok! magazine quoted her as saying.
"Now I have a wonderful man and children to come home.

Invoking "Babylon" in the title of Julien Temple's documentary on London seems bleak, but it's really a dare. This is a montage spanning 100 years, from the turn of the 20th century to the 2012 Olympics. Temple splices in anachronistic images and music throughout, so that the future cuts into the past and the past is ever-present. He has a penchant for punk, a subject he's covered before, and when Edwardian-era suffragettes smash windows to X-Ray Spex's "Oh Bondage! Up Yours!" it's not the first or last time the movie feels like one long music video, something else Temple's spent time on. T.S. Eliot and William Blake have their say, and a pigeon-capturing lady on the streets gets more screen time than Lady Diana. But this is no crazy quilt. Temple and editor Caroline Richards demonstra...

Jurnee Smollett-Bell would like to clarify one thing: She'd be nervous to set you up on a date with one of her friends. It's too much pressure, she says. Thankfully, real life doesn't intrude on art: Smollett-Bell plays Judith, a matchmaker/wannabe marriage counselor lured into some infidelity of her own in "Tyler Perry's Temptation."
The 26-year-old actress isn't a stranger to the small screen, either: She was a series regular on "Friday Night Lights," was just cast in "True Blood," and even took a turn as Denise Frazer on "Full House" from 1992 to 1994.
NextMovie caught up with Smollett-Bell in New York City ahead of the March 29 release of "Temptation" to discuss Netflix binge-watching, marriage counselors and, of course, her favorite Journey song.

We all remember when pictures of a nude sunbathing Kate Middleton made their rounds on the internet last year, and now the Duchess has been violated once again.
Chi magazine has released images of a pregnant Middleton sunning herself in Mustique while wearing a two-piece bikini on her babymoon with Prince William, and the Palace is furious.
Editor-in-Chief Alfonso Signorini declared, "We cannot talk about a violation of privacy when we publish pictures of public people in a public place. The photographs of Kate and William were bought from an international photo agency.”
"You can't compare this with the media persecution of Lady Diana. I cannot stress enough that the photos were taken in a public place, not private property."
In reply, a rep from St. James Palace stated, "We are disappointed that photographs of the Duke and Duchess on a private holiday look likely to be published overseas. This...

To see Chris Brown and Rihanna smiling and looking happy in their coupledom at the Grammys, one wouldn’t think that the bad boy singer was in a nasty car crash just hours prior to the event. Breezy was driving around in his Porsche this Saturday in L.A when he got mobbed by paparazzi. A spokesperson for the singer explained their side of the story in a detailed statement that read, “The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his [Brown's] vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley, at which point he was cut off by two additional vehicles. Chris’ vehicle was totaled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay.” We may not be the biggest Brown fans, but if this is what actually went down, then it crosses this line in so many different ways.

Los Angeles, Oct 17: Naomi Watts has transformed herself to play Lady Diana in the upcoming biopic "Diana" and seems to have done a commendable job. The actress is a splitting image of the late Princess of Wales.
The movie focuses on Diana's last two years before she died in a car accident in 1997.
The 44-year-old was seen shooting a scene with an Angolan child who lost her leg to a landmine and wore similar clothes as seen in a photograph of the princess, reports thesun.co.uk.

When we first saw Naomi Watts channeling the late Princess Diana on the set of the new film Diana, we were completely flabbergasted. The resemblance is startling, and Naomi could not have been more perfectly cast. The film’s only out next year and is about the final two years of Diana’s life. Her romantic relationships with Dr. Hasnat Khan and Dodi Fayed are also a large part of the script. The wardrobe and styling department is obviously going all out. The photograph on the left was taken just a couple of days ago, with Naomi rocking a brunette wig. The reason why she’s changed up her hair was because of the fact that scenes of Diana’s secret trysts with Dr. Khan, played by Naveen Andrews, were being filmed. Diana used to change up her hair color to throw off the paparazzi. And just like that, as...

Naomi Watts was photographed on the set of Caught In Flight, the first big screen biopic of the late Lady Diana. The Australian actress sparkles in her portrayal of the English Rose, who tragically passed away 15 years ago this August. Crowds gathered around London’s Royal Opera House as Watts strutted past the red velvet roads in a form fitting sequined gown, clutching Diana’s signature hand bag. Due out in 2013, the film will explore the final two years of Diana’s life, including her romantic relationship with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan as well as her more famous tryst with Dodi Fayed.
Even though she totally looks the part, Naomi admitted to be “absolutely terrified” of playing the legendary princess. “She is a part of our history, an incredible woman and fascinating but a tragic ending,” she says in the Daily Mail. “The film-makers came to me and it...

(Reuters) -- Michael Jackson's "Bad" returns this September with new music and never-before-seen concert video in the first re-release of a full album from the King of Pop's catalog since he died in 2009, Jackson's record company and estate said on Monday.
The "Bad 25" deluxe package, released on September 18, commemorates the 25th anniversary of the original, Grammy-winning album with hits like "The Way You Make Me Feel," and it will include demos and songs that didn't make the final cut of the original version.
The new songs were recorded in Jackson's studio while he was making the album, and the package also offers a DVD of Jackson's performance for Britain's Prince Charles, Lady Diana and 72,000 fans at London's Wembley Stadium in 1988.
The video was discovered in the singer's personal collection, and thought to be the only copy of the performance, taped for Jackson's own use, the estate said.

Hugh Grant's appearance at the Leveson inquiry into tabloid intrusion was a bravura performance. Perhaps that is because it came straight from the heart
Hugh Grant's testimony to the Leveson inquiry, his ferocious denunciation of what he sees as the myths of celebrity hypocrisy and publicity addiction, took me back to the first film I ever reviewed for this paper. It was his romantic comedy Notting Hill, from 1999, starring Julia Roberts as Anna Scott, the impossibly beautiful movie star who comes to London and improbably falls in love with what Joan Collins would call a "civilian", a non-celebrity. This is Will Thacker, the divorced and lovably rumpled bookshop owner, played by Grant himself. One day, perhaps, Notting Hill will be a set text in media studies classes and historians of the hacking scandal will scrutinise Richard Curtis's screenplay line by line. Because it turns out to concern...

Killer Elite is the new action packed thriller by first time filmmaker Gary McKendry that was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is out today in the U.K. (my review Here). One of the main attractive features of the film is the stellar cast attached. Myself and a few other plucky journos’ were lucky enough to sit at a round table and interview four people related to the film. Here’s 2 of 4.

Didn't Lady Diana have to prove she was a virgin before marrying Prince Charles? Will Kate Middleton have to do the same thing? —Royal Watcher, via the inbox Here's what I could find: According to several reports written closer to the time of Charles' marriage to Di, the 20-year-old lady did have to undergo an exam by a gynecologist—a Mr. Pinker, to be exact—to ascertain the virginity of the future princess ... Related: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But what about Kate's dress? Why? Well, it used to matter. In old-timey times, kings didn't want to marry women who might be pregnant with a another man's baby. Could mess up the whole royal bloodline and whatnot. Best to...

American Idol paid tribute to Elton John last night, and may have found a couple new contenders in the process.
First, Haley Reinhart surprised us by closing the show, an honor typically given to a contestant that has generated more buzz than the young woman many believed would be eliminated last week.
But Haley proved worthy of the concluding spot, bringing the sexy with a cover of "Bennie and the Jets" that started with her lounging on a piano. Randy called it the best of the night.

Lauren Alaina, meanwhile, was up to the challenge of John's classic Lady Diana ballad, "Candle in the Wind." She made the single her own by infusing it with some country twang.

Leave it to the Daily Express to report a story about Princess Diana.
Last month we reported that a movie based on the Chilean mining disaster was going into production before the miners had even been saved. I, in a search for comparisons, enrolled the aid of 9/11 and Oliver Stone but was stopped short by the tragic death of Lady Diana. While each new film about a contemporary disaster seemed to be pushing the boundaries of taste in their immediacy, Princess Diana had been awarded considerable grace. I puzzled, does The Queen really constitute her definitive film adaptation. It appears not.
Lady Diana’s big screen homage is apparently like buses, you wait years for one to come along and then two arrive at once.
With Diana’s posthumous 50th Birthday and 30th Wedding Anniversary expected to draw innumerable tributes next July, the movies will likely be in production by...

October 21, 2010: Hollywood actresses Charlize Theron and Keira Knightley will compete against each other on the big screen this year as both actresses get ready to portray Lady Diana in a film based on the life of the Princess of Wales. However producers of both films are not prepared to look at their respective films as a threat to the other. They are of the opinion that even though both films are based on the life story of Princess Diana, the storyline of both films are completely different.
Media reports claim that the Charlize Theron starrer is based on the relationship shared by Lady Diana with her bodyguard Ken Wharfe, and while the Keira Knightley starrer also deals with the relationship shared by Diana with her aid Ken Wharfe,.

- Commercials/video filmmaker Ron Scalpello is breaking into feature filmmaking by reverting back to early 1980's London. To be more specific, it will be the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana 1981 with the backdrop of The Clash, The Undertones and The Jam, with the Brixton Riots fueling up the storyline. Screen Daily reports that Optimum Releasing is setting up shop for Here Comes The Summer in London for a September shoot with Jason Newmark (Severance) and Alan Mckenna producing. By the sounds of this, we are going to be speaking about this picture next year - producers told the trades that it contains the kick to the shins intensity of a La Haine and City of God. The story centers around Paul, an obsessive rude boy, who is celebrating his 18th birthday with a weekend away. When one of Paul’s friends is beaten up by local right-wing skinheads,

As you’ve no doubt heard by the time you read this, the undisputed King of Pop, and arguably the most famous person in the world - Michael Jackson, he was 50 years old.
Jackson suffered a suspected cardiac arrest this past Thursday 25th June, and was taken by ambulance to the UCLA medical centre in Los Angeles, where he was pronounced dead Thursday night.
Jackson lived a troubled and controversial life, having been thrusted into the spotlight at the young age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5, before going on to launch one of the most successful solo careers in music history. Jackson’s life was sadly marred by rumours of child abuse, something which Jackson has always denied, and has always been found innocent of.
Arguably though, despite the negative press, Jackson is best known and most celebrated for his outstanding musical talent. With hits such as...
