Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing a £1.5 million bid for Qpr goalkeeper Julio Cesar this summer, according to the Mirror.
The French manager is hoping to take advantage of the Hoop’s relegation in May by landing the Brazilian for a bargain fee, while Qpr are keen to get the former Inter Milan shot-stopper off their spiraling wage bill.
Harry Redknapp’s side have already sold defender Christopher Samba back to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala just six months after buying him, and strikers Jay Bothroyd and Djibril Cisse have already left Loftus Road this summer.
Now, Cesar could be the next star to leave as the Londoners prepare for life in the Championship next season.
Cesar is keen on a switch to the Gunners, who want the 33-year-old to replace Wojciech Szczesny as their No.1 goalkeeper next season.

Spencer Matthews ''doesn't get'' Chloe Green's relationship with Marc Anthony. The 'Made In Chelsea' star had a fling with the Topshop heiress in the past and can't believe how eclectic her taste in men is since he heard the news she was romancing the Latino singer, who is 23 years her senior and has five-year-old twins Max and Emme with his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez. Asked what he thought of his former co-star's new love, he joked to Star magazine: ''Her boyfriends could not be more different. When I saw that she goes from me, to Ollie Locke, to Djibril Cisse, I just...

I recently read an insightful article into Manchester City’s 5 best foreign players and begun to think what Liverpool’s might be. Since 1992, Liverpool have had 7 different managers, and although they haven’t proved to be as successful as the legendary Bob Paisley and Bill Shankly, they have all had highlights and many of them have been down to their excellent foreign players.
In this article we’ll look at Liverpool Football Club’s 15 greatest ever foreign players signed during the 21 years of Barclays Premier League football. From Hyypiä to Salif Diao and Djibril Cissé to Luis Suárez, there have been many hits and even more misses. But we’re here to celebrate the best so without further chatter, let’s begin…

A lot of interesting news came yesterday – but all it served to do was scupper the completion of any transfers. Various sources report that Ashley Cole has signed a new contract, while Michael Laudrup confirmed in a press conference that they have received a number of bids for Danny Graham. Will Super Sunday (plus the Sunday papers) provide big news today?
Transfer News
After the arrival of Loic Remy left him on the fringes of the Qpr first team, Djibril Cisse has gone on loan to Qatar side Al Gharafa until the end of the season.

Wilfried Zaha‘s move to Manchester United has collapsed, after Crystal Palace rejected a £10m bid. The Eagles wanted £15m for the winger, according to the Sunday Mirror. However, the Mail on Sunday says that the deal is well and truly on, with Zaha moving to United for £12m.

With deals for Loic Remy and Yannes M’Vila all but done, Qpr have been the busiest so far this window. What will they get up to today?
Transfers
Finally, it’s done: Qpr have announced the signing of Loic Remy for a club record fee.
Norwich City have let Jacob Butterfield join Crystal Palace on an emergency loan. The midfielder is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season.
The Rumour Mill
The Independent believes that Chelsea and Tottenham are on red alert after it was revealed that Willian could move to the Premier League for around £20m. The Brazillian playmaker shot to prominence in Shakhtar Donetsk’s Champions League campaign.
The Newcastle exodus looks set to continue, according to the Daily Mirror, as AC Milan are interested in highly-rated ‘keeper Tim Krul and 22-year-old full-back Davide Santon. It’s thought unlikely that Massimiliano Allegri will be able...

In the first of a two-part Christmas special of Premier League table predictions here on WhatCulture!, we’ll be using the powers of conjecture and guesswork, along with a few blind stabs in the dark, to explain why Wigan will once again pull off a great escape, probably on the last day of the season, why Aston Villa could have their work cut out, and why even Harry Redknapp might not be able to save Qpr from the dreaded trapdoor.
Yes, it’s only Christmas, and though hindsight will probably make this article seem more ridiculous than Djibril Cisse’s latest haircut, but in descending order (dramatic effect and all that), here is how the Premier League table is going to look come the end of the season. Possible.
11th: Norwich

Footballers the world over are paid exorbitant amounts of money to do something they love and something we love to watch. Fans worship them, kids idolize them. They are the pinnacle of the sporting world. But sometimes, these very same leaders in their field have what can only be described as a ‘brain-explosion’, a blunder, an aberration. Not just from the English Premier League, these somewhat hirsute athletes decorate football leagues globally.

Manchester City vs Queen Park Rangers team line-ups are in.
City boss Roberto Mancini has named the same side that started the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United last Sunday. That is actually a slight surprise that Mancini didn’t start with Nigel De Jong as the deep-lying defensive midfielder, a position that allowed Yaya Toure to push forward and get the two winning goals against The Magpies when Mancini changed his formation on the 70th minute.
Controversial striker Mario Balotelli, who at one stage Mancini claimed would never play for City again after a string of unprofessional behaviour, including the red card he picked up against Arsenal, has made the bench.
For Queens Park Rangers, striker Djibril Cisse starts, as does Shaun Derry who was a doubt before today’s game.

Champions League final bound Chelsea will welcome Queens Park Rangers to Stamford Bridge this afternoon knowing they need a victory to get themselves back in the hunt to qualify for next season. Qpr meanwhile will want to build on last week’s surprise win against Tottenham Hotspur to keep them above the relegation zone going into the last two games of the season.
Kick-off time is at 1.30pm and the match is screened live on Sky Sports in the UK. Here’s the team news ahead of that game.
It has been confirmed that there will be no pre-match handshake between the clubs due to the on-going court case regarding John Terry’s alleged racial abuse towards Qpr defender Anton Ferdinand.
Chelsea are facing a mini crisis at the back. Although John Terry is not suspended for domestic action, he is the only fit recognised senior center-back with David Luiz...

Team news ahead of Queens Park Rangers vs Tottenham Hotspur, which has a 5.30pm kick-off time. The game at Loftus Road will be screened live in the UK on Espn.
Queens Park Rangers welcome back Djibril Cisse into the squad after been missing for the past four games through suspension. His ban was lengthy as it was his second since he signed for the club in January.
Harry Redknapp’s Spurs will be without Younes Kaboul and Niko Kranjcar who are both ruled out with knee injuries. He also revealed in the pre-match press conference yesterday that he had “four or five” injury concerns but was keeping his cards close to his chest on who they were.
Ledley King’s knee problem will once again mean he has a late fitness test before today’s game.
Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone are definitely ruled out with ankle injuries.

Today’s Sky Sports kick-off is the bottom of the table relegation clash between Bolton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers at the Reebok Stadium. Kick-off time is at 12.45pm.
Bolton’s Marcos Alonso is a doubt having returned to his homeland of Spain to be with his family following the death of his grandfather. Manager Owen Coyle revealed that the player would inform the club as to whether he was in the right frame of mind to be involved yesterday.
There are no other new concerns for Bolton with veteran striker Kevin Davies expected to be fit having missed the last three games with a knee injury. Though he may have to settle for the bench.
For Mark Hughes he welcomes back Djibril Cisse and Samba Diakite back to the Queens Park Rangers side having previously been missing through suspension. Former England international right-back Luke Young is back in the...

Electronic Arts have finally released the FIFA 12 squad updates from the January transfer window. It is available to download from today.
Finally Newcastle United have a new number nine in Papiss Demba Cisse (plus Demba Ba’s impressive form has moved him up from 79 to 82) and no longer do you have to rely on the hopeless Shola Ameobi to provide the goals when Ba inevitably is injured. Finally Queens Park Rangers have a threatening strike force themselves with Djibril Cisse and Bobby Zamora joining the London club last month, and Chelsea fans can now play Gary Cahill alongside John Terry.
Also Manchester United have the returning Paul Scholes in their ranks, though don’t think he can play 90 minutes for you as he only has a stamina rating of 47.
And Sunderland’s James McClean will no longer be an unknown but a genuine attacking force down the wing for Sunderland!

Team News for Queens Park Rangers vs Wolves, a 3pm Premier League kick-off this Saturday afternoon.
Transfer deadline day signing Bobby Zamora should make his Queens Park Rangers debut, striking up an instant partnership with Djibril Cisse who scored just 12 minutes into his first game for the club in Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw at Aston Villa.
With Adel Taarabt and Armand Traore now back from the African Cup of Nations duty they could play, with Jay Bothroyd also close to a return from a groin injury. He could be on the bench today.
Definitely missing out for Qpr are DJ Campbell (hamstring), Heidar Helguson (groin), Alejandro Faurlin (knee) with Akos Buzsaky (achilles) a major doubt.
For Wolves, manager Mick McCarthy has no fresh injury concerns and on-loan Spurs defender Sebastian Bassong may make his debut for the club. Midfielder Jamie O’Hare should feature after being classed fit again after his hernia operation success.
