Mass Effect: Andromeda lead writer Chris Schlerf has ceased working for BioWare and jumped ship to work on Bungie’s Destiny instead, according to a post on his Twitter account.
Despite the surprise career change from one triple-a studio to another, Schlerf has nothing but praise for his former employers, stating that working for BioWare amounted to one of the “best experiences” of his professional career and even expressed his confidence over the the quality of the upcoming Andromeda, stating it will “blow people away.”
Despite having seemingly left mid-development of BioWare’s continuation of the sci-fi space opera series, Schlerf said he “couldn’t be prouder” of having the chance to work on the project. One can only wonder why Schlerf decided to depart the company if he was so happy with the project he was working on.
Could the exit be down to BioWare wanting to take Andromeda...

On the eve of the release of the much anticipated Halo: Initiation, Dark Horse Comics has announced that it will be publishing a new ongoing series, Halo: Escalation, starting in December. Here’s the full press release from Dark Horse.

I, like many of you, have been playing Halo during most of my free time over the last few days. And I have even seen the credits roll on the main campaign. 10 hours later and Master Chief had well and truly returned. Thanks to a tragic personal story and some great ideas, Spartan 117 has a fantastic base to launch into further sequels.
I have already interviewed one man who was responsible for giving a breath of fresh air to the story of Master Chief last week in the shape of Armando Troisi, and this week I had the chance to talk to the other responsible party.
Chris Schlerf is the Lead Writer in charge of the Reclaimer Trilogy. Writers in video games can get a lot of unfair flack for shoddy writing that can often be attributed to a development team that aren’t interested in implementing the story elements properly.
