This year’s recipients are Jessie Adler for The Boxers of Brule, Matt Kay for Little Miss Sumo and Taylor Hess and Erin Sanger for Mack Wrestles. All three of the 2018 grantees showcase athletes as fighters overcoming battles of various kinds both in and out of the ring.
Each filmmaking team chosen will receive a grant ranging from $15,000 to $20,000 to use towards the development, production, or post-production of their film, as well as receive year-round consultation and mentorship.

Independent Film Sales has boarded Gabe and Ben Turner’s currently untitled documentary about six-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt.
The filmmakers have been following Bolt since the end of 2014, and will also use archive footage collected from throughout his life and career.
They filmed in Jamaica in May of this year, and will return to the Caribbean country in January 2016 for further photography, before following the sprinter to the Rio Olympics in August next year, where Bolt is aiming to win a hat-trick of Olympic gold medals.
The team have also secured rights to use official coverage from the event in Rio and plan to follow Bolt through to his planned retirement from the sport in 2017.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is to be the subject of a feature documentary, following his journey to the 2016 Olympics in Rio and planned retirement in 2017.
The film will be made by Fulwell 73, the London-based production company behind Manchester United documentary Class of ‘92 and boyband film One Direction: This is Us. Executive producers on the project are Doyen Group, who previously collaborated with Fulwell 73 on ‘Class of 92’.
It will be directed by Gabe and Ben Turner and produced by Leo Pearlman, the team behind Class of ‘92 and One Direction: This is Us.
