The Marvel Cinematic Universe is making its return to the big screen once again as "The Marvels" is hitting theaters. This not only serves as a sequel to 2019's "Captain Marvel," but it's also building on Disney+ shows like "WandaVision" and "Ms. Marvel" with a pair of new heroes joining Carol Danvers to form a new super team. Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani are uniting with Brie Larson as Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, respectively. As the catchphrase goes: Higher, further, faster.
It should not be lost on MCU fans that this is the first new team we've been introduced to in some time. If we don't count the trio of Spider-Men at the end of "No Way Home," we would have to go back to "Eternals." That makes this an important film in Phase 5. But is it important enough to have a credits scene? That's what we're here to discuss!

Marvel Studios has released the final trailer for The Marvels just prior to its release in a few days. While the trailers prior to this one have emphasized the comedy and the dysfunctional dynamic between Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, this final one emphasizes the drama of the looming threat on the universe. The trailer connects to the events of Avengers: Endgame as the clips imply that Thanos’ work will not go unfinished. It also calls back to the nostalgic days of Avengers with clips of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.
The official synopsis reads,
In Marvel Studios’ The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary,...

The final trailer for The Marvels sees a band of heroes unite for “one last fight.”
Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel joins forces with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Kahn/Ms. Marvel, Teyonah Parris’ Captain Monica Rambeau, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and potentially more Marvel characters to defeat Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn in the upcoming superhero film.
The two-minute look at the sequel debuted during Monday Night Football and kicks off with a look back at the Avengers’ war against Thanos, which set up the stakes for The Marvels team as they prepare to go up against a powerful enemy.
“This is just the beginning,” Ashton’s villain says early in the trailer, as she opens a hole in space, leading to a different reality leading into Earth. “She can’t be matched. Can’t be controlled,” Jackson’s Fury tells Carol, before adding, “I...

The final trailer before the premiere of The Marvels this Friday just dropped during Monday Night Football’s game between the New York Jets and the Los Angeles Chargers.
In the preview, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’s Captain America make an appearance in flashbacks as the voiceover by Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury says, “Heroes, it’s an old fashioned notion, but the world can still use them.”
Towards the end of the trailer, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie makes an appearance talking to Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and telling her, “You can stand tall without standing alone.”
Valkyrie first appeared in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. Thompson would later reprise her role and make appearances in Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).
The Marvels opens in theaters on Friday, Nov. 10.

“The Marvels” final trailer has confirmed a super-cameo from Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.
The new footage debuted during ABC and ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast, and certified fan speculation that Thompson’s “Thor”-franchise hero would appear in the film, partially because she starred in “The Marvels” director Nia DaCosta’s critically acclaimed 2018 debut feature “Little Woods.”
The MCU’s latest movie, which hits U.S. theaters on Friday, stars three heroes — Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Oscar winner Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). The trailer looks back at The Avengers’ war against Thanos — including the short team-up sequence where all the MCU’s super-women rally behind Captain Marvel — and sets up the stakes for the trio as they face a formidable new enemy, the Kree revolutionary Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton).

Marvel Studios’ two-minute The Marvels featurette does a great job of briefly recapping where we left off with Carol, Monica, and Kamala and shows how they’ll come together to form an incredible, unstoppable team. And while there are a lot of character-driven moments, the “Journey to The Marvels” featurette doesn’t skimp on the action, confirming fans can expect impressive CG and stunt work.

Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, gets her powers entangled with those of fellow heroes Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan in the second trailer for The Marvels, which has dropped just in time to generate Comic-Con buzz.
The sequel’s first trailer had Larson joined by Iman Vellani, the breakout of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel in the role of Kamala Khan, as well as Teyonah Parris as the grown-up version of Captain Marvel character Monica Rambeau, as they join forces to save the universe.
But the official trailer gives more clues as to why the unlikely trio must join hands as The Marvels, as we learn more about the film’s archvillain, Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn. Having secured a powerful bracelet, she appears bent on revenge as Dar-Benn scrambles the light-based powers of Danvers, Rambeau and Khan.

While Marvel Studios may not have a Comic-Con panel this year, the studio is taking advantage of the timing of the event to drop a brand new trailer for the “Captain Marvel” sequel “The Marvels.”
Directed by Nia DaCosta (“Candyman”), the story finds Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers beset by challenges as a figure from her past (played by Zawe Ashton) threatens to destroy everything she loves. Complicating matters is the fact that Carol, her estranged niece Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and the young Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) get their powers intertwined — every time one of them uses their powers, they switch places with one of the others.
The cast for the MCU film also includes Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur and Saagar Shaikh, with Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury following the Disney+ limited series “Secret Invasion.”

Nick Fury is currently fighting a war with shape-shifting enemies on Marvel’s Secret Invasion, over on on Disney+. However, The Marvels will bring our favorite eye-patched former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. back in contact with his old friend, Carol Danvers, as he patrols threats that travel through our solar system from his space station, S.A.B.E.R. Danvers will also come face-to-face with her biggest fan, whom audiences met in her own show on the streamer, Ms. Marvel. Both will also now come in contact with Monica Rambeau, who had a prominent introduction in the series, Wandavision.
Marvel has just released the new trailer, which brings us a bit more of a peek into the predicament the unlikely team will find themselves in. Here, we get more of an explanation of how each Marvel teleports to the locations of the others when using their powers.

The first teaser for “The Marvels” has arrived, and once again, we are going higher, further, faster baby. But this time, Captain Marvel has some new help.
Last we saw Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) — in the post-credits scene of Disney+’s “Ms. Marvel” finale — she was suddenly in the bedroom of teenager Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani). How did she end up there? Well, as revealed in the footage shown at last year’s D23 Expo, it turns out that Carol, Kamala and Monica Rambeau (Teyonnah Parris) are now switching places each time they use their powers.
Now, in the first trailer for the “Captain Marvel” sequel, we see a whole lot more of that — and at the most inopportune moments too. It happens while Monica’s on a mission in space, resulting in Kamala going to space. It happens mid-battle. It happens even while Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and...

With movie theaters closed to hopefully no later than early June, the major studios have a permission slip to test out big pic releases in the home. Now, they’re not so insane that they’ll burn down the house to keep warm. Major movies like Disney’s Mulan and Black Widow which have the potential to do $1 billion at the global box office, thus triggering off a downstream of ancillary riches, aren’t the types of movies you’d debut in the home.

Kenneth Branagh’s first foray into the rich world of Agatha Christie murder mysteries, the 2017 surprise hit “Murder on the Orient Express,” boasted a starry cast of big names, including Michelle Pfeiffer, Penélope Cruz, Johnny Depp, Willem Dafoe, Lucy Boynton, and Daisy Ridley, so it’s no surprise that his imminent sequel is just as star-studded.
