London, June 27 (Ians) Singer Boy George’s showbiz firm Culture Club has gone bust with debts of almost $1.2 million.
The company has been ordered to shut down by the UK High Court, due to debtsowed to his former Culture Club band mate and ex-boyfriend Jon Moss, 65, according to TheSun.
The company’s assets of $4,13,911 are being taken by the liquidators to Moss back. The move from the high court has reportedly led to the singer “facing bankruptcy”.
George, 62, was also ordered to pay Moss’ legal fees. The breakdown of the relationship with his former drummer Moss reportedly turned into a bitter feud that split the band and sparked a legal battle over profits.
George had previously denied claims that he “defrauded” his former band member.
He said in a statement earlier this year: “My former band member Jon Moss has made the most unfounded and hurtful allegations against me in legal proceedings in the UK.

The classic rock biopic craze continues with MGM, which is producing a film based on Culture Club frontman Boy George.
Boy George, one of the most recognizable faces from the 1980s, is the next music icon to get swept up in the film industry’s classic rock biopic wave. Indeed, in the spirit of the Oscars-dominating Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, and the buzz-generating Elton John biopic, Rocketman (which hits theaters this weekend), the ostentatiously gender-bending frontman of Culture Club is getting a big screen portrayal of his own from a major studio.
The Boy George biopic, currently untitled, is in the works at MGM, which will produce the film, reports Deadline. The studio has already found its creative fulcrum in Sacha Gervasi, who will serve as director and writer, joined by producers Kevin King Templeton (Creed) and Paul Kemsley, as well as executive producers George and Jessica de Rothschild.

Ahead of the game, there’s a question mark hanging over Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, who was forced to pull out of England’s midweek friendly with Brazil at Wembley thanks to a thigh problem, and will be assessed. Brendan Rodgers will no doubt hope for the kind of miraculous recovery that allows Manchester United and Arsenal’s injured international players to suddenly perk up after a friendly they were supposed to play is over.
Raheem Sterling, who also pulled out of the squad, is also fit, while Rodgers might welcome new Brazilian signing Philippe Coutinho into his first team, after his first week of training. He may need some time after a delayed start to his Liverpool career.
West Brom will be without left-back Goran Popov who begins a three-match suspension for spitting at Tottenham defender Kyle Walker, but...

Gylfi Sigurdsson was the catalyst for Swansea’s two goal comeback to secure their second away win of the season in the expense of West Brom.
The Icelandic international near instantly cancelled out Marc Antoine Fortuné‘s opener for West Brom after finished a sublime Swansea move to score. Sigurdsson then turned architect as Danny Graham latched on the end of his cross to complete the comeback for the Swans.
With the Wintry conditions setting in throughout the country, the first half of this game also took a while to thaw through the first half.
In the opening half an hour West Brom gave Swansea far too much room for them to stretch the play with their established passing style but never found the openings to really take advantage.
West Brom however capitalised on the physical advantage that players such as Marc Antoine Fortune, and more predominantly Jonas Olsson, posed to Swansea.

Michel Vorm was once again the hero for Swansea City after his master class display between the posts to ensure Swansea City another three points at home. The Dutchman was on fine form for the Swans, preventing numerous goalscoring opportunities for Fulham including a late penalty taken by Clint Dempsey.
There were multiple changes for both teams’ starting eleven. Brendan Rodgers had obviously taken notice of the impressive substitute performances from Luke Moore and Wayne Routledge at their defeat to Blackburn last week with both players making the starting XI. Steven Caulker also returned for his first game since picking up an injury at Arsenal in September.
For Fulham the changes were forced due to injury. Danny Murphy was expected to make a recovery for the game but failed to make the bench. Bobby Zamora was another notable absence as Martin Jol decided to rest his England international with Andy Johnson...

Boy George first garnered international fame in the early 80’s as the “androgenius” front man of New Romantic outfit Culture Club. With his soulful voice and dragamuffin appearance, he won over a generation of fans with singles “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?,” “Time (Clock Of The Heart),” and “I'll Tumble 4 Ya,” which famously made the group the first since the Beatles to achieve three top 10 hits from a debut album. “Karma Chameleon” off their next LP, spent three weeks at number one and became their signature track. The group would sell over 100 million singles and 50 million albums.
Although Boy George eventually went solo and achieved a Top 20 hit with 1992’s “The Crying Game,” a Grammy nomination for 1999’s “When Will You Learn,” and a Tony nod for his Taboo musical, he’d become more famous for being infamous. Boy George has confirmed Culture Club will reunite in 2012 to mark the band's 30th anniversary. Superproducer Mark Ronson recently revealed he had made it his mission to bring former bandmates Boy George, Roy Hay, Mikey Craig, Jon Moss and Sam Baker back together, eight years after they split.
And flamboyant frontman George O'Dowd - aka gay icon Boy George - has revealed a plan is in place to celebrate the anniversary of the release of Culture Club's first ever single on April 30, 2012. He says, "We're definitely doing it, yeah, yeah, in 2012. Our D-Day is April 30, which is the same day as our first ever single release, 'White Boy', and yeah, we're doing it, it's going to be great fun."

It’s finally sunny here in London! The mercury is on its way to 28 (centigrade of course) and I’m sitting in my garden, listening to soon-to-be-defunct BBC Radio 6 music (which makes me sad). But fear not – there were enough cold hours for me to sit in front of the telly and bring you news of what the devil’s been going on in Britain.

First up is a documentary made for ITV’s Tonight Show about homophobia in modern Britain. Afraid to be Gay was presented by newly out king of rugby Gareth Thomas, who does a better job of expressing a personality than most sports “personalities.”
The documentary featured Gareth’s coming out party attended by Dr. Christian Jessen of Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies, and singer Will Young, presenting partners Colin and Justin. Please note, I feel very resentful of that as I didn’t have a comin gout party.

Mathew Horne has hit back at claims that his sketch show with James Corden was homophobic. The actor, who recently played Jon Moss in Boy George biopic Worried About The Boy, insisted that gay characters in Horne & Corden were "stereotypes for a reason". He told Gay Times magazine: "I don't care what they said, because largely it was nothing to do with the show, it was just to do with me and James being around too much and people starting to hate us, which I get, it's a bit of over-exposure and what have you." Tim Teeman, the gay arts editor of The Times, had accused Horne of prejudice over his (more)...

I’m actually the wrong type of gay to know how bad of an idea this is, but even from my nerdy perch, I have a feeling remaking A Star is Born with Russell Crowe and Beyonce is likely to start riots in WeHo, Dupont Circle, and the West Village. Thoughts?
Hasbro has been intent on making more toys into movies. Bad ideas currently underway have included Monopoly and Battleship, but one of the ideas I was into is Candyland. Now they’ve announced that Taylor Lautner is going to play Stretch Armstrong. I don’t know why I think I like this idea, but it could be that Stretch Armstrong was made to squeeze and grope, and I know Taylor is legal in three days.
When I was in first grade, my school got all new desks with brightly colored tops. Mine was red that year. But...

Boy George's story is coming to the small screen - the BBC is turning the Culture Club frontman's colorful life into a TV drama. The one-off special will revisit the singer's career from club cloakroom attendant to 1980s gender-bending icon.
Two supporting cast members have already signed up for the project, "Worried About the Boy" - British actor Mat Horne will play Culture Club drummer Jon Moss, an alleged former lover of the singer - real name George O'Dowd, while Green Street Hooligans star Marc Warren will take on the role of scene trend setter Steve Strange.
The drama will chronicle the early days of Culture Club, who went on to sell 22 million albums worldwide, O'Dowd's addiction to heroin and his prison spell in 2009 when he was put behind bars for assault and false imprisonment of a male prostitute.
