“60 Minutes” has drawn criticism from journalists and other public figures for its sit-down interview with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, which aired on Sunday evening.
In the interview, Greene asserted that Democrats are the “party of pedophiles,” saying, “They support grooming children… Even Joe Biden himself supports children being sexualized and having transgender surgeries.”
The Republican representative doubled down on her comments in a Tweet, writing, “I will always fight to protect kids!”
Greene, who was elected to a House seat representing Georgia in 2020, has been a primary subject of fervent criticism from Democratic figures for several years. During her campaign, she voiced support for a range of conspiracy theories promoted by the QAnon movement, which the FBI has deemed a domestic terror group. She has also promoted misinformation regarding Covid-19 vaccines.

President Donald Trump’s campaign manager Brad Parscale on Thursday compared the president’s re-election effort to the Death Star “firing on all cylinders” at its rivals — which drew immediate confusion and mockery from “Star Wars” fans and political critics.
“No Star Wars expert, but doesn’t the Death Star…get blown up?” conservative political commentator Bill Kristol wondered.
And sci-fi author Myke Cole noted, “You do know the Death Star is the superweapon of the Bad Guys, right?”
In the “Star Wars” movie franchise, when the villainous Empire’s Death Star fires on all cylinders, it destroys the planets inhabited by innocents. And the films’ good guys, led by Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, destroy not one, but two iterations of the murderous planet-killer.
That cinematic backstory seems to have been lost on Parscale, who tweeted: “For nearly three years we have been building a juggernaut campaign (Death Star...

Exclusive: Tom Arnold hasn’t given up his quest to uncover incriminating evidence against Donald Trump, but his Viceland series The Hunt for the Trump Tapes With Tom Arnold is over. A source said it was only ever intended as an eight-episode series.
But Arnold isn’t done. “I am not quitting until I get all the tapes or Trump resigns, which ever happens first,” he told Deadline. “Every day both things get closer to happening.”
Over the course of the show that premiered September 18, Arnold searched high and low for elusive videotapes allegedly showing Trump in all manner of compromising positions – from the infamous “pee tape” in a Moscow hotel room to an outtake on The Apprentice in which Trump allegedly used the N-word. Arnold hasn’t found the tapes yet, if they exist, but he hasn’t stopped looking.

Tom Arnold swears he’s gonna get to the bottom of this whole “Trump tapes” thing, even if he has to take unusual routes. That includes hitting up Peter Cottontail to find out what he’s got on Potus, in the first look at the actor’s new Viceland series, “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes.”
“I’m going to dig as deep as I have to, to expose the ugly truth about the ugly man,” Arnold says in the minute-long trailer.
Viceland’s new series “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold,” will see Arnold doing some “citizen journalism” to find out the truth behind the rumored recordings of Donald Trump. Tom Arnold is searching for the Donald Trump tapes — but he means more than just the infamous, alleged Trump “pee pee tapes.” For his new Viceland series “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes,” Arnold is issuing a challenge to “The Apprentice” executive producer Mark Burnett: Release the hours of tapes of Trump on set acting inappropriate.
“Mark Burnett does have a disc with every outtake of ‘The Apprentice,'” he said. “I’d like [Burnett] to stand up and say, ‘actually we had to cut out all the lies and sexual harassment, he’s not really that guy [you saw on the screen],'” Arnold said. “The real guy is this other guy.”

Aubrey Peeple, who plays Layla on Nashville talked with TV Guide about her character’s relationship with closeted singer Will, ” I think that him being good for her career was a huge factor in why they got together. But at this point … she’s totally head over heels for him, because she’s 19. There will always be that aspect of her career that drives her, and that’s what comes first. But she’s a hormonal teenager. She’s in love with him now.” Peeple also hints that Will and Layla’s storyline should get some major developments soon.

Last year, MSNBC aired a successful documentary special about the Iraq War called Hubris: Selling the Iraq War, hosted by Rachel Maddow and based on the book by Michael Isikoff and David Corn. That program documented the false public case for the war. The cast of Pretty Little Liars is managing to get even hunkier, according to TV Guide with the addition of Sean Faris as an investigator from outside of Rosewood.
Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson tells EW that he would like to direct an episode of Doctor Who, providing the iconic series is willing to meet his fee — a Dalek.
My Name is Earl alum Nadine Velaquez is joining the cast of Major Crime in its second season, according to Deadline. Velaquez will play a D.A. working on the Phillip Stroh case who clashes with Captain Raydor.
I guess Fox News was having a slow news day. Have there been any national stories they've been trying to ignore this week? Any anniversaries?...

There was a delay in Super Bowl Xlvii that lasted over 30 minutes and it was all due to a power surge that blacked out half the stadium. Oops.
But here are some of our favorite theories and quips from Twitter, which is always the place to be during something like a Super Bowl black out.
"I've kicked the Playstation cord out of the wall before, too. Well played Jim Harbaugh" -- Kyle Clark"The Stadium just went into a #blackout. Clearly the dementors showed up a little late to watch Beyonce". -- Lord Voldemort"Switching to Downton Abbey where they still have electricity" -- Ben Garvey"Finally, America cares about the infrastructure in Nola."-- David Corn "NBC and Jj Abrams just 'Revolution' photobombed the Superbowl.#blackout" -- Julie Plec"This game ended like The Sopranos" -- Will Stegemann"Over 100 NFL players without power in New Orleans right now.

Since posting footage of Mitt Romney rejecting "47 percent" of the American electorate as tax-dodging freeloaders, Mother Jones magazine has been basking in the limelight of pulling off the biggest scoop in this year's presidential race, besting Internet-era giant the Huffington Post. How did that happen? The non-profit magazine more commonly associated with graying 1960s radicals doggedly tracked down over Twitter and email the anonymous videographer at a Romney fundraiser. Armed with the credibility of its Washington bureau chief David Corn, Mother Jones nailed the story. "It validates that we are a force...

One of the revelations from David Corn's new book Showdown that's making waves is the fact that President Obama blamed Fox News for diminishing his support among white males. On Monday, Fox News' Bret Baier attempted a brief "fact check" of the book's premise that “fed by Fox News, they hear Obama is a Muslim 24/7, and it begins to seep in.”, concluding "For the record, we found no examples of a host saying President Obama is a Muslim.” Today, Corn points out the obvious sleight of hand in that statement, and shares his thoughts on Baier with Mediaite.

Fox News has responded on its airwaves to a new book about President Obama in which he reportedly blames the network for some of his political troubles. Politico published a story on Monday reporting that the book, written by Mother Jones’s D.C. bureau chief David Corn, purports that Obama told labor leaders Fox was costing him white male voters. One big reason? Obama said the network incessantly accuses him of being Muslim. Fox’s chief news anchor Bret Baier briefly addressed the book on “Special Report” Monday night while the hosts of “Fox...

"For the record, we found no examples of a host saying President Obama is a Muslim," Baier corrected.

Chris Matthews analyzed the Republican presidential candidates with David Corn and Republican strategist Todd Harris, admitting he still didn't understand some of them and wondering whether Mitt Romney is truly the front-runner? Although he spent some time dismissing Texas Governor Rick Perry as a "hee-haw, far right-winger," Matthews was more interested in defending President Obama against some of the exaggerated attacks coming from Romney.

Chris Matthews was curious about what exactly Sarah Palin is up to traveling around Iowa, yet unlike some of his MSNBC colleagues who weren't thrilled about having to give Palin attention, Matthews seemed fascinated by what Palin's role could be, or even should be in the future. Matthews' guests David Corn and Susan Mulligan however seemed less enthused about Palin's possibilities.

Although it seems to have originated at right-wing media watchdog Newsbusters, an accusation of anti-Semitism against Mother Jones' David Corn and Hardball host Chris Matthews is rocketing around the conservative blogosphere like a coked-up Ricochet Rabbit.
