Last week’s season premiere of “Yellowstone” was very dramatic: John Dutton (Kevin Costner) became the governor and already hates it, Beth (Kelly Reilly) has Jamie (Wes Bentley) under her thumb, and Monica (Kelsey Asbille) loses her child in a freak car accident.
Things are still high-impact in Episode 3, and Variety gathered loose thoughts, burning questions and key moments from the episode. Read below and chime in with the scenes that had you yelling “Yee-Haw!”
“Yellowstone” is letting their favorite targets have it early in this episode: The wolves are from Canada, the scientist is telling everyone not worry, the media is stoking fears.
I know this wouldn’t happen, but it’d be fun to see Young John Dutton (Josh Lucas) squaring off with Old John Dutton in some sort of “Back the the Future”-esque episode.
Beth: Please don’t tell your father all about your first threesome!

Fox is cutting two of its fall dramas short.
The network has announced it has canceled Filthy Rich and NeXt, just weeks after their respective debuts on the network.
Variety reported the news first, saying that increased costs due to the Covid-19 pandemic played a huge part in the decision.
Based on the New Zealand series, Filthy Rich is a southern gothic dramedy revolves around two strong, sharp women who will go to any lengths to protect their loved ones and get their due.
When the wealthy CEO of the world's largest Christian network dies in a plane crash, his wife and adult children are stunned to discover he has grown, illegitimate kids who also are in his will.
When the steel azalea matriarch of the family tries to pay them to go away, these newly legitimized heirs have very different ideas and insist on not only staying in town...

Filthy Rich and NeXt are both ending after one season on Fox, Deadline has confirmed.
The network will not renew either series for a second season, though both shows will see out their current runs. Low ratings — both shows are averaging a 0.5/3 in the adults 18-49 demo — and uncertainty are behind the cancellation of the series, which were both originally intended for summer runs.
NeXt has aired three episodes of its 10-episode order, while Filthy Rich has aired five of its 10 episodes.
Created by Tate Taylor, Filthy Rich stars Sex and the City alumna Kim Cattrall as Margaret Monreaux, the matriarch of a mega-rich Southern family famous for creating a wildly successful Christian television network. After her husband dies in a plane crash, Margaret and family are stunned to learn that he fathered three illegitimate children, all of whom are written into his will — threatening their family name and fortune.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Episode 1 of Fox’s “Filthy Rich.”)
The battle between Margaret Monreaux (Kim Cattrall) and her late husband’s illegitimate daughter, Ginger Sweet (Melia Kreiling), continues on this week’s episode of Fox’s new Southern Gothic drama “Filthy Rich.” And showrunner Abe Sylvia says the fight between the “saint” running the Sunshine Network and and “sinner” Ginger, the founder of X-rated cam site Sin Wagon refuses to be silenced with (what she deems to be not enough) hush money after she and the other two illegitimate children of Margaret’s dead husband, Eugene (Gerald McRaney), are brought into the spotlight following his death.
“They’re very similar, and I think that’s the rub, right? They’re both master manipulators of media, they just have chosen two different paths, Margaret obviously being the saint and Ginger, not to be redundant, the sinner,” Sylvia tells TheWrap.

ABC’s simulcast of Monday Night Football topped primetime last night, when the Las Vegas Raiders christened their new home with a victory over the New Orleans Saints. ABC’s telecast drew a 1.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 6.85 million viewers in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day numbers.
Monday signaled the kickoff of sorts as well to the fall TV season, though the coronavirus pandemic has left it more muted than usual, with usage down 21% from the opening night of the 2019-20 season. Popular returning scripted series are a main driver for getting viewers back to broadcast TV in the fall, and we won’t see those until late October-November. The only actual new original to make it to screens last night was Fox’s Kim Cattrall-starring Filthy Rich, held over from last season. It was preceded by the network debut of L.A.’s Finest, which jumped...

Fox is expected to have at least two new drama series on the fall schedule, Filthy Rich and NeXt, along with a full slate of animated comedies, while ABC is considering holding multi-camera comedy series United We Fall for fall. It is part of an effort by the broadcast networks to stockpile original content for next season as coronavirus-related Hollywood production is entering its third month with no end in sight. For that reason, CBS recently changed its scheduling plans for the latest season of The Amazing Race, leaving it in the can for fall.

“Filthy Rich” creator and showrunner Tate Taylor grew up in the Presbyterian church, but his new Fox drama is not designed to convince the audience that one family’s religious beliefs are better than any others.
“The show is not pro-Christianity, it’s not about religion, it’s about people who are all very different who would otherwise never speak to each other and what does that look like?” Taylor said at the Fox Television Critics Assn. press tour panel for the show Tuesday. “It was very important that we don’t make fun of anybody, but we poke fun a little bit at everybody. Aaron Lazar is replacing Steven Pasquale as Reverend Paul Luke Thomas on Fox’s upcoming Kim Cattrall-led Southern drama, “Filthy Rich,” in the second recasting for that co-star role.

Peter Cushing-style reappearances might soon be used to solve all kinds of problems, from Ben Affleck’s discomfort in the Batsuit to Benedict Cumberbatch’s busy schedule
It’s already possible to be in two places at once in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Benedict Cumberbatch proved during several out-of-body experiences in last year’s Doctor Strange. So the New York Post story that the Sherlock star has been replaced by a body double for the shooting of scenes as the sorcerer supreme in the forthcoming McU instalment Avengers: Infinity War Part One should come as no shock. Moreover, with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story having shown you don’t even need to be alive to star in a new movie, we should hardly be surprised that an actor no longer has to be on set to get involved in a shoot.

Given the expansive list of characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s undoubtedly a huge nightmare for the producers to align all the schedules for their A-list cast for their standalone pictures. We can only imagine how much more difficult it is for a film like Avengers: Infinity War, which will, as far as we know, bring together pretty much every superhero under the sun introduced in this world thus far. This includes the more recent addition to this world, Doctor Strange, who was portrayed by British thespian Benedict Cumberbatch in the recent standalone film of the same name. While Cumberbatch is set to appear in multiple films in the future, including in Infinity War, it sounds as though his appearance may not be as extensive as one would think.
According to a recent report from Page Six, Cumberbatch’s body double, Aaron Lazar is in Georgia right now,...

If you cast your mind back a year or two ago, you’ll probably remember that the name Doctor Strange didn’t mean much to you. Unless you were a longtime Marvel Comics fan, you may not have even heard of the Sorcerer Supreme. It was really only once the promotional campaign for his cinematic solo outing began that the general public became familiar with him. Though he was never an A-list character like Iron Man or Captain America, Marvel did a great job of marketing Strange in the lead-up to his film and turned him into a near-household name.
By all accounts, Doctor Strange was a tremendous hit for the studio, putting the hero on the map and right into the hearts of fans. As such, it’s no surprise that Benedict Cumberbatch will be returning to reprise the role at several points in the future. First up, we...

It seems Benedict Cumbernatch won't actually be on hand to film his Doctor Strange scenes for Avengers: Infinity War, and will require a stand-in until he can reshoot his close-ups and record his dialogue at a later date. The Sherlock star is also playing Thomas Edison in The Current War, which is shooting in London at the moment and is expected to overlap with production on Marvel's epic, creating a scheduling conflict. Apparently, Broadway actor Aaron Lazar has been hired as the stand-in. Though it's best to treat this as a rumor for the time being, this report comes from The UK's Daily Mail, who has been on point when it comes to Marvel-related scoops in the past. Assuming it is on the level, does this suggest that Doctor Strange won't have a very big role in Avengers: Infinity War? What do you guys make of this? Drop us a comment below.

It has been stated that tragedy breeds comedy. If that is the case This is Where I Leave You should be one of the most hilarious movies ever made by human kind. This dramedy follows one of the most dysfunctional families in recent memory as they reunite after the passing of their beloved father. With a script that jams a year worth of Soap Opera plotlines into a one hundred minute movie the opportunity for over wrought drama is rich, and occasionally that opportunity is seized upon with great force. Luckily a strong cast filled with veteran comedic and dramatic talent polishes the blemishes the script and director leave behind.
