Niagara Falls, N.Y. -- ABC is turning Nik Wallenda's attempted tightrope walk over Niagara Falls into a prime-time television event next month, devoting a full three hours to the daredevil's June 15 walk, the network said Friday.
Wallenda is a seventh-generation member of the famous daredevil family the Great Wallendas, also known as the Flying Wallendas, whose history as a traveling circus troupe dates to 1780.
"It's a return to some of the great events you've seen on television over the years," ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider said. "I think back to my own childhood and Evel Knievel where literally the whole country would gather around the set and watch one of these extraordinary stunts."
That the event would grab three hours in prime time didn't surprise media expert Robert Thompson, who said the Wallenda legend together with the bygone tradition of daredevil attempts at conquering Niagara Falls are big draws – even...

Nicki Minaj is known for her outlandish fashion choices, but generally her wardrobe doesn’t malfunction. Today she took the stage in New York’s Central Park as part of Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series, and a low-cut top briefly exposed her nipple during the performance.
Jeffrey Schneider, a spokesman for ABC said in a statement, “Although we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on Gma, the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones.

As previously reported on Zap2it, George Stephanopoulos will join ABC's "Good Morning America" as anchor according to Politico.com.
The news comes as no surprise to most industry watchers and the network is expected to make the official announcement on Thursday (Dec. 10).
Speculation of Stephanopoulos' impending move to "Gma" heated up once it was announced that Diane Sawyer would be departing the morning show to anchor ABC's evening's "World News" after Charlie Gibson stepped down.
The report also claims that Stephanopoulos could join his new morning colleagues -- Robin Roberts and newly assigned newsreader JuJu Chang -- as early as Monday (Dec. 14).
Stephanopoulos is expected to continue hosting Sunday's "This Week" in the near term, but will eventually give up those duties to focus solely on "Gma."
The question of whether or not co-host Chris Cuomo will remain with "Gma" still lingers with conflicting reports about his resignation emerging this past weekend.
