- Howard Schnellenberger was born on March 16, 1934 in St. Meinrad, Indiana, USA. He was an actor, known for The NFL on CBS (1956), ESPN College Football (1979) and The NFL on NBC (1965). He was married to Beverly Donnelly. He died on March 27, 2021 in Boca Raton, Florida, USA.

Head coach for the Baltimore Colts (1973-1974), University of Miami (1979-1983), University of Louisville (1985-1994), University of Oklahoma (1995) and Florida Atlantic University (2001-present). He also is the athletic director of FAU. In addition, Schnellenberger accepted an offer to coach an unnamed Orlando team in the United States Football league but the team folded before playing a game.
