- Both his father, Bill Vukovich and his son, Billy Vuckovich, III died in auto racing accidents, His father dying at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1955.
- In his career, Bill II competed in more than 160 Indy Car races, logging 85 top-10 showings, with 24 trips to the podium, and one win, at the 1973 Michigan Twin 125. 1973 was also the year of his best finish at the Indy 500, where he finished second to Gordon Johncock.
