Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the biggest names in Hollywood and an actor and entertainer who has a big fanbase and a lot of influence. Starting out as a WWE star, he soon transitioned to television and movies, becoming one of the most popular action stars in the world. Known, more or less, as a laid-back guy with an open mind, The Rock is quite popular, but it seems that he is not the most pleasant guy to work with and that his work ethic isn’t that commendable.
This new report comes from the set of the upcoming Red One movie, which is set to come out on November 15, 2024 and will be a Christmas action movie with Johnson in the main role. Alongside him, the movie will star Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, and Mary Elizabeth Ellis, as well as Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons in the role of Santa Claus.

Do not mess with J.K. Simmons.

Zoe Lister-Jones was proud to attend Sunday’s Spirit Awards, and the reason is twofold. First, the multihyphenate talent turned up in Santa Monica to support a pair of nominations for Roku’s Slip, the original series she created, starred in and executive produced alongside a team that includes Dakota Johnson. Reason No. 2: She did so by walking into the event hand-in-hand with a new love in her life.
When the subject of her plus-one came up during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 41-year-old Lister-Jones responded with a big reveal: “I’m here, I’m queer, I have some fear but I’m working through it.” Lister-Jones is in a new relationship with a fellow filmmaker, Sammi Cohen, who most recently directed Netflix’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, the teen comedy starring Adam Sandler and family including wife Jackie and their daughters Sadie and Sunny.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has had some pretty unforgettable bits over the years, but some of the best moments of the show hands down are the musical numbers. There was Dee's rapping boyfriend, Dennis and Mac's glam rock band, the animated musical number in the season 4 Christmas special, and of course, there was "The Nightman Cometh." But who could forget one of the most popular songs in "Sunny" — the patriotic anthem "Rock, Flag, and Eagle."
The song was originally an inside joke between series co-creator and star Charlie Day, who stars in the show as a character named after himself, along with actor and writer David Hornsby, who plays the recurring character Rickety Cricket.
"Hornsby and I would joke about truck commercials, and that they — at that time, I don't know if they're still doing this — it seemed like they were just pumping out the most stereotypical American things,...

Roll out the red carpet because Ethan Coen’s upcoming feature, Honey Don’t, is ready to add some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters to the cast. Coen will reteam with Margaret Qualley for the new project, with Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Evans leading the cast. Details about the plot remain a mystery, but whispers around the watercooler suggest it’s a comedy in the vein of Focus Features‘ Drive-Away Dolls.
Coen teased his follow-up to Drive-Away Dolls in July of last year. Coen directs Honey Don’t! from a script he wrote with his wife, Tricia Cooke. The duo paired off for Drive-Away Dolls, starring Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan. The duo’s Drive-Away Dolls revolves around Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another breakup with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian, who desperately needs to loosen up. The road to making most sitcoms doesn't usually involve home movies, but then again, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" isn't most sitcoms. The series is now the longest-running live-action comedy of all time with a whopping 16 seasons, but once upon a time, it was just the weird little dream of writers and stars Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Glenn Howerton. They made a home movie pilot for $200, shooting with friends and a camcorder, and used that to shop the idea around to various networks. FX eventually picked them up and the rest is hilarious history. Some of the home movie pilot has been released online, with Jordan Reid as the original version of Sweet Dee and Morena Baccarin as Carmen, but it also exists in another way, as much of its script was recycled for the season 1 episode "Charlie Has Cancer." It turns out that there was a bit of footage they reused too,...

The side characters on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" can sometimes be just as funny or even funnier than the gang themselves, and one of the most beloved of them all is The Waitress, played by Mary Elizabeth Ellis. The Waitress has been a part of the series since the beginning, appearing in the very first episode, "The Gang Gets Racist," but her real name has never been revealed. There aren't many other characters on the series that don't have revealed names, so what gives? Why have they kept the identity of The Waitress a secret for all of these years?
On an episode of "The Always Sunny Podcast," where Ellis joined writers and stars Charlie Day (who is also married to Ellis), Rob McElhenney, and Howerton (along with writer/producer Megan Ganz) to discuss all things The Waitress, the character's real name came up in conversation. It turns out...

Red One: Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson’s holiday action comedy to bring cheer to theaters next year
Next year’s holiday season is already looking merry and bright at the box office as Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans’ holiday action comedy, Red One, plans on riding a sleigh into cinemas. The Amazon MGM and Seven Bucks Christmas film is still spreading holiday cheer on Prime Video, but the project’s global theatrical debut happens on November 15, 2024.
Red One’s move to theaters is a strategy to take advantage of the holiday box office rush. Families love to bundle up the family for a trip to cinemas, and that Thanksgiving window is almost as tasty as a lovingly cooked butterball turkey. Other films will premiere in theaters around the holidays, but so far, Robert De Niro’s mobster film Alto Knights and Lionsgate and Kingdom Story’s The Best Christmas Pageant Ever occupy the holiday stretch.

Red One, the mystery Christmas movie from Dwayne Johnson and his Seven Bucks Productions and screenwriter Chris Morgan, is set to hit theaters worldwide on Nov. 15, 2024.
The Amazon MGM Studios’ epic holiday action comedy is based on an original story from Hiram Garcia, president of production at Seven Bucks Productions. Jake Kasdan directed the movie from a script by Morgan.
Fast and Furious scribe Morgan worked with Johnson on four Fast movies as well as the Johnson-led 2019 spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw. The ensemble cast alongside Johnson includes J.K. Simmons, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Wesley Kimmel.

Frank Reynolds is one of the most deranged characters in the history of television, taking performer Danny DeVito's lewd, lascivious Louie DePalma character from "Taxi" and turning it up to 11. DeVito plays him as a total human disaster, complete with animal-like grunts, belches, and gurgles. It's hard not to laugh at Frank, but it might feel altogether different being in the same room with him, which is what happened to one "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" co-star early on in the series. DeVito isn't a method actor by any stretch of the imagination, but he does have a warm-up routine that helps him become Frank, and it totally freaked out one actor while filming the season 2 episode "Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom."

Of all the great episodes of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," one of the most ambitious and hilarious is "The Nightman Cometh," which follows the gang as they put on a rock opera created by the bar's janitor, Charlie (Charlie Day). The musical is inspired by Charlie's childhood and features a villain called the Nightman who comes into his room at night, likely based on Charlie's pedophile uncle, Jack (Andrew Friedman). In the end Charlie created the whole play as a means to convince the Waitress (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) to marry him, which confirms the rest of the gang's assumptions that the play had to have a target or a "mark." It turns out that there was almost originally an entire secondary plot to "The Nightman Cometh" that would have made the aim of the play pretty different, but that having a "mark" was still very much a part of it.

The gang on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are a pretty tight-knit group with a long, complicated family history. At some point or another, most of the gang have claimed Frank (Danny DeVito) as their father, and Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Dennis (Glenn Howerton) as twins. The cast have their own family connections too, as Olson is married to series creator and the man who plays Mac, Rob McElhenney, and the other guys have each had their spouses on the show! Charlie Day, who plays Charlie, is married to The Waitress (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), while Howerton's wife Jill Latiano made an appearance in season 5 and DeVito's wife Rhea Pearlman finally had a cameo in season 16. The cast of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" have been working together for years. Half of the members of this tight-knit group are married to each other, but these boundary-pushing comedians have no qualms about their characters sleeping with people that aren't played by their spouses. However, things did get a little strange while shooting Dee and Charlie's romantic tryst in season 10. Charlie Day is making his directorial debut with "Fool's Paradise," a scathing love letter to Hollywood that features one of Ray Liotta's final performances. The ambitious comedian also wrote and starred in the film. The star-studded cast also features reunions with Day's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" co-stars including Glenn Howerton and Day's wife, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and reunites Day with Jason Bateman and Jason Sudeikis from "Horrible Bosses." The late Ray Liotta also plays a Hollywood producer in one of his final roles, which should be a relief to fans of the actor who assumed "Cocaine Bear" was the last time Liotta would ever appear on screen.

The long wait for Charlie Day fans is finally over, and the trailer for his directorial debut, "Fool's Paradise," is finally here! Previously titled "El Tonto," the film has been in development for years and underwent significant reshoots during the early part of the pandemic, but now we're finally going to get a chance to see what Day's film is really going to look like. "Fool's Paradise" is a bit of a farce, following a man (Day) who has lost the ability to speak -- due to mental illness -- and who just so happens to look like a method actor who's being a total pain in his publicist's behind (also Day). The actor and his publicist (Ray Liotta in one of his final roles) manage to make the mute man a star, although that's going to cause plenty of hilarity given his whole non-speaking situation.

Christmas-themed properties are lucrative. It has been a long-running joke that crooner Michael Bublé only surfaces during the holidays when his Christmas songs make regular rotations, and Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas has found recent infamous popularity. Enough to have the pop diva declare herself “Queen of Christmas.” Recently, with films like Violent Night and The Mean One, crossing Christmas with violence and action looks to turn traditional classics on its side.
One such film audiences have to look forward to for the next holiday season is the Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans yule-tide action film Red One. While Dwayne Johnson is enjoying the box office windfall for his new film, Black Adam, his upcoming holiday movie with Chris Evans, Red One, is adding actors to its cast. Set to star in Red One are Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, Wesley Kimmel, and Mary Elizabeth Ellis. Jake Kasdan (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) directs from a script by Hiram Garcia based on a story by Chris Morgan.
Red One, also starring Lucy Liu and Kiernan Shipka, is keeping its plot at the bottom of Santa’s sack. However, whispers indicate Amazon is hoping to turn the concept into a franchise, with plans to merchandise the daylights out of its star-studded action-adventure holiday comedy.
Red One features two of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters, Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans. Both actors are pillars of superhero cinema, with Johnson playing DC‘s Black Adam, while Evans plays Steve Rogers (Captain America) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Taylor Swift’s insecurities and fears are coming to life in the music video, which Swift is calling a “music movie,” for her song “Anti-Hero,” from her new Midnights album.
In the video released to coincide with her new album, Swift can be seen running from the ghosts of her past as she is continuously confronted by what appears to be her Hollywood alter ego and a “giant monster-on-a-hill” persona. In varied moments, Swift could be seen wearing a “Vote for me, for everything” pin, stepping on a scale which reads “fat” and taking notes as her persona teaches her that “everyone will betray you.”
Later in the video, there’s a scene of Swift’s imagined funeral, in which a fictional daughter-in-law (portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Ellis) and sons (John Early and Mike Birbiglia) read her will.

Taylor Swift may have tucked a 30 Rock reference into “Anti-Hero”, the first single off her new album Midnights.
The records was released on Friday (21 October) at 12am exactly, which means Swift’s fans – known as Swifties – have already had hours to listen and dissect the tracks.
One lyric in particular, however, has created more consternation than others. On “Anti-Hero”, Swift sings: “Sometimes, I feel like everybody is a sexy baby / And I’m a monster on the hill.”
Some fans have suggested that the phrase “sexy baby” is ripped from a season five episode of 30 Rock, in which Tina Fey’s character – Liz Lemon – lectures an over-sexualised employee.
The adult employee in question, Abby, wears her hair in childlike pigtails and speaks in a soft baby voice.
She also objects to Liz’s interference, stating: “The whole sexy baby thing isn’t an act. I am a very sexy baby.

When the clock struck midnight, a new music era began for Taylor Swift as she debuted her 10th studio album, Midnights.
When announcing the album, Swift hinted that it would share more personal stories, something she moved away from with her Folklore and Evermore albums, and described it as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams,” Swift wrote. “The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching — hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve…we’ll meet ourselves.”
Fans have been left wondering what direction and sounds the new era would bring following Swift’s last indie folk chapter, Folklore and Evermore.

As the longest running live-action comedy series in American television history, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has been pushing the boundaries of taste, depravity, and hilarity for 15 seasons. If you're somehow still unfamiliar with its debauched genius, it follows a group of friends -- Charlie (Charlie Day), Mac (Rob McElhenney), twins Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Dennis (Glenn Howerton), and the Reynolds' father, Frank (Danny DeVito) -- who own a Philly pub. However, while Paddy's hosts many of the gang's antics, you're far more likely to find them embroiled in some deranged scheme than pulling pints behind the bar.
With so many episodes of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" to choose from, every fan probably has their own list of favorite moments. However, while each of its stars steal scenes, it's Howerton's pitch-perfect portrayal of preening megalomaniac Dennis that may be the show's finest creation. She will play a new character, Sam, in the project based on Alexandra Potter’s 2020 book Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up. As a result, Jessica St. Clair and Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who played Nell’s girlfriends Annabel and Fiona in the pilot, did not continue on the series.

Sam, who is a colleague of Rodriguez’s Nell, is part of the retooling of the single-camera comedy, which now is leaning more heavily into the workplace, with the female-friendship storyline from the pilot phased out. As a result, Jessica St. Clair and Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who played Nell’s girlfriends Annabel and Fiona in the pilot, did not continue on the series.

Director Paul Thomas Anderson makes movie stars out of Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman in this deliriously entertaining evocation of Southern California in the 1970s. Part awkward romance, part growing-up-on-the-fringes-of-Hollywood comedy and part nostalgia-fused hangout, it’s one of the best films of the year.
Named after a beloved San Fernando Valley record store, Anderson’s ninth feature film Licorice Pizza takes place in Encino, California in the early 1970s. Based partly on the real-life experiences of Anderson’s friend Gary Goetzman (a former child performer who’s now Tom Hanks’ producing partner), the film centres on burly, self-assured, entrepreneurial 15 year old Gary Valentine, who’s instantly smitten with 25 year...

Exclusive: TV pilots’ role is to serve as a prototype for a series. Sometimes, networks make changes to that prototype when they proceed to mass production with a series order, which unfortunately affects talent. Two of ABC’s newly picked-up series, The Rookie‘s Feds spinoff, headlined by Niecy Nash, and the Gina Rodriguez-starring comedy Not Dead Yet, are going though the process this year.
Nash was one of four actors who guest starred in the two-episode arc on The Rookie, which served as backdoor pilot for The Rookie: Feds. Three of them, Nash, who plays the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy, Frankie Faison and Felix Solis, will continue on the new series. The fourth, Kat Foster, will not as her role, Special Agent Casey Fox, will not be moving forward.
The changes are more significant on ABC’s new comedy series Not Dead Yet where only half...
