Entertainment One (eOne) and Palomar have announced a new TV series about the life of Muammar Gaddafi, created by Gomorrah writer Roberto Saviano.
Saviano is developing Gaddafi and will share writing duties with Nadav Schirman (The Green Prince). The duo will also executive produce.
The series will examine the life of Gaddafi, who ruled Libya from 1969 to 2011, when he was captured and killed.
eOne controls worldwide rights to the series, which is being spearheaded by eOne’s Carrie Stein and Polly Williams with Palomar’s Carlo Degli Esposti and Nicola Serra.

BAFTA-nominated Tom Harper (pictured) will direct The Rocks and Laura Eason is attached to adapt the screenplay. Harper’s credits include the War & Peace mini-series and horror feature The Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death.
The book was published in 2015 and is a love story told in reverse set on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca.
The story starts in the present day with the death of an older married couple who fall from a cliff after an argument.
It rewinds through time, following the intertwined lives of the couple and their families over the course of 50 years.

Speaking at Goteborg’s TV Drama Vision conference, the head of the new eOne and Creative England Drama Venture also said she’s open to working with European partners.
Polly Williams, the head of scripted drama for the recently launched eOne and Creative England Drama Venture, said she is already actively working on eight projects with another seven she’s “looking at seriously at the moment.”
Williams, delivering a keynote talk at Goteborg’s TV Drama Vision conference today, said she is able to act quickly on projects because is something of a one-woman band, although she discusses all work with the two partners in the venture, especially Carrie Stein, executive vice president, Global Production at eOne Television, and Caroline Norbury, CEO of Creative England.
The fund is primarily aimed at backing UK creative to work on shows that have international appeal.

Brand and design agency Blue Marlin has appointed a creative director to run its Sydney office.
Ian Catling, creative director of Blue Marlin Asia Pacific, moves into the managing director role to replace Marshall Ward, who has moved to the agency’s London office.
His appointment marks the first time in Blue Marlin’s 20-year history that a creative has led the agency.
Senior designer Polly Williams will be stepping up to lead Sydney’s creative team as associate CD, with Catling retaining overall responsibility for the agency’s creative product.
