Rachel Leah Jones is an Emmy award-winning nonfiction filmmaker whose trajectory in the field - from researcher to producer to director to editor to writer - has spanned two decades and three continents. Her work, which has been awarded by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Asia Pacific Screen Academy, has also been nominated for the PGA Awards, the IDA Awards, selected by the European Film Academy, honored by Cinema Eye and shortlisted for the Oscars. A two-time Sundance Festival and Institute alumna, her critically-acclaimed films (ADVOCATE, GYPSY DAVY, ASHKENAZ, 500 DUNAM ON THE MOON) have screened in festivals worldwide and have aired on dozens of channels including: BBC Storyville; ARD Germany; France 2; RTS Switzerland; Channel 8 Israel; YLE Finland; DR Denmark; SVT Sweden; 2M Morocco; Radio Canada; HBO Latin America and PBS's POV. In addition to maintaining a prolific career as a working artist, including longstanding affiliations with progressive media outlets such as Democracy Now!, Jones has worked extensively as a story consultant, directing mentor, jury/lector, and documentary curator.
