Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features Fourteen matches, though we also get some of Aew’s bigger stars on the show, which makes up for the ridiculous amount of matches Imho. Anyway, on with the review…
Match #1: Action Andretti def. Tony Deppen
My Thoughts: Action Andretti continues his winning streak in this opening match, though why Deppen was allowed to get as much offence as he did – especially against the guy that beat Chris Jericho in his debut. Still, a great start to this week’s Dark.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Evil Uno def. J. Spade
My Thoughts: Evil Uno’s turning to the dark side continues… I sincerely hope this new vicious streak continues and we get a stronger, more dominant Dark Order too. Shame the audience wasn’t into this one though.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #3: Parker Boudreaux def.

Yuta and Cassidy countered one another with a plethora of pinning combinations. Wheeler used a front leg sweep on Orange. Yuta rolled up Orange for a near fall. Cassidy used Yuta’s pinning technique, the seatbelt, for a two-count on Wheeler. Claudio Castagnoli came out to ringside and didn’t look so happy. Claudio gave a pep talk to Yuta in the form of a slap to Yuta’s face. Yuta nailed Orange with a tope and then whipped Orange into the barricades. Match #1: “Hangman” Adam Page def. Wheeler Yuta
My Thoughts: This was a hard-hitting, well-fought match that at once showed that Adam Page is really ready for his rematch against Jon Moxley And that Wheeler Yuta has actually learnt from his time with the Blackpool Combat Club – Yuta kept his high-flying moves in play but backed them up with the more “strong style” work of Moxley and Danielson. Which actually meant that this was probably the best tune-up match Page could’ve had going into this week’s Dynamite!

Though it has always been a crowd pleasing form of entertainment, the general public still somehow has mixed feelings about professional wrestling. But one way that the art form has been integrated into pop culture over the years is through crossovers with well-known stars or brands. From Cyndi Lauper and the Rock N Wrestling era to Andre the Giant in "Princess Bride," to Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler" and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia," to "Total Divas" on E!, there have been plenty of instances where Hollywood has brought more eyes to the world of wrestling. And the most recent example involves Golden Globe winner Paul Walter Hauser.
While the Globes don't carry the same weight as they once did (thanks to people being terrible), "Black Bird" star Hauser was excited to share his first major Hollywood award with his friends in the wrestling community. In...

Match #1: Hikaru Shida def. Tyra Russamee
My Thoughts: This was a typical Aew squash match of the highest order, with Tyra Russamee taking a beating from Shida – only avoiding Shida rather than offering any of her own offence.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese and Josh Woods) def. Pillars of Destiny (Hunter Grey and Paul Titan)
My Thoughts: This was decidedly average. Both teams seemed to struggle making this one feel like a smooth wrestling match and instead felt too scrappy to make any impact.

The Blackpool Combat Club came out next and entered the ring like a wrecking ball! Kip Sabian stomped on Orange Cassidy in the corner. Dark Order entered the fray next! Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which features only six matches on the card this week (thankfully I do love a shorter show)… On with the review!
Match #1: Dalton Castle & The Boys def. Justin Corino, Jaden Valo, & Defarge
My Thoughts: Aew roll out the Roh talent once again given that we’re headed towards the Roh: Final Battle pay per view. Its always great seeing Dalton Castle & The Boys in action even if they’re technically squashing their opponents – it’s still glorious seeing them do their stuff!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Abadon def. Leva Bates
My Thoughts: Two of Aew’s most under-utilised talents get to go head to head in action and it’s great action too. Honestly, it’s a crying shame that these two don’t get more TV time, even on Aew’s YouTube shows.

Darby rocketed from the ring to Cole Karter, who was outside the ring. Darby blasted Cole with a shotgun dropkick. Darby climbed to the top turnbuckle but Cole shoved him off, knocking Darby to the arena floor. Cole powerbombed Darby on the edge of the ring. Cole whipped Darby into the turnbuckles. Match #1: The Bunny def. Blain Onyx
My Thoughts: The Bunny took control of this one for the get-go, only “letting” Blain Onyx get a few hits in so it didn’t look like she totally folded. But otherwise this was a complete and total squash.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Brandon Cutler def. Man Scout
My Thoughts: Another Brandon Cutler comedy match… What did you expect? Classic wrestling? He’s fighting Man Scout here folks! This was more of your typical Aew quasi-squash but the outcome was Never in doubt. At all. In the slightest.
