- Was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics with the 17th overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft.
- Mason won the 2001 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. By doing so, Mason became the first player in Seattle Supersonics' history to win the Dunk Contest.
- Made an appearance as a member of the Seattle SuperSonics in Like Mike (2002).
- Mason participated in the 2002 and 2003 NBA Slam Dunk Contests. In the 2003 contest, Mason was close to winning another dunk contest, but finished in second place behind Jason Richardson.
- On February 20th, 2003, the Seattle Supersonics traded Mason along with Gary Payton to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Ray Allen, Kevin Ollie, Ronald "Flip" Murray, and a 2003 1st Round Draft Pick.
