She studied her craft under the direction of Sande Shurin, author of
"Transformational Acting...A step Beyond".
Her real life son Bailey Almindo played her on-screen son in the film Nate Dogg (2003). This film won best debut feature film at the Raindance Film Festival in London 2003.
Michalina's very first film audition was for filmmaker Thomas Farone. He
cast her and the two have been working together ever since. She is currently one of the Producers and has a small role in his most recent film Aftermath (2013).
She is one of the co-founders of a group called Independent Artists Collaborative in the NY Hudson Valley. It is a group of all artists working to master their craft while collaborating with each other to create new works. She started this group with fellow artist Jim Dippolito.
The short film Four (2007) she directed and produced won four awards at the 2007 Edwood Film Festival.
Her short film, Distractions, aired nationally on BET and BET-J as a part of "Lens on Talent: A Filmmakers Challenge".
Michalina finally married Michael Scorzelli April 28 2012. They met at church camp at the age of 14.
Michalina is the crew chief for a Nascar Late Model. Loves racing and helping her husband to go fast! Racing is a very big part of her life.
The short film Michalina Directed Distractions won Best Short Film at the Trinity Film Coalition.
Distractions Directed by Michalina won the FINE CUTZ Grand Jury Award at The Ruff Cutz Film Conference.
