This Week in Ladybits
Both houses of the Kansas legislature may be voting today on a monster anti-abortion bill that defines life as beginning “at fertilization.” Members of the Kansas Gop have already laughed down exemptions for little things like rape and incest.
Hey, Rachel Maddow. Anything else going on with Kansas and/or ladybits? As a matter of fact, yes. The late Dr. George Tiller’s Clinic is reopening.
...And there are some terrifying people who think it’s just ducky to use deadly means to try to stop others from exercising their Constitutional rights or to perform a legal service.
Feministing knocked it out of the park with this piece on how the principle of personhood is criminalizing pregnancy.
Ohio’s attorney general still does not care for science or want ladies to get birth control. Sigh. You know what? We...

A helpless newborn baby boy was found abandoned in the dirt at the edge of an empty parking lot in Pompano Beach, Fla. wrapped in a blanket on Feb. 21. The heroic woman who found the baby got the attention of a day care bus driver, and had the driver’s supervisor to call 911.
A newborn baby was sleeping in the dirt along some hedges near an empty parking lot when a woman noticed something moving, and realized it was a baby. The infant was reportedly warm to the touch, but his mouth was very dry. The shocked woman immediately sought help for the poor baby, and flagged down a nearby bus driver.
The baby was then taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale for further examination. The newborn is reportedly one to three days old, and his umbilical cord was still attached, which possibly means he was not delivered in a medical setting.

J. Edgar (Warner Bros.) Director Clint Eastwood provides a rock-solid, albeit rather flat portrait of polarizing FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, covering his life from late teens to his death. Leonardo DiCaprio does an impressive turn as Hoover, never crossing the line into caricature, and creating a Hoover that is all too human, making for an all the more unsettling look at absolute power run amuck. Where the film stumbles is the love story at its core: Hoover’s relationship with longtime aide Clyde Tolson (Armie Hammer). In the hands of an openly-gay director like Gus Van Sant, this could have been a heartbreaking, tender story of forbidden (unrequited?) love, but Eastwood seems to tiptoe around their romance, with far too much delicacy and deference. The film works well when recreating the famous crimes and investigations which Hoover made his name on (the Lindbergh kidnapping,...

We're all pretty excited about attending this year, as we've heard it's a much smaller more intimate version of San Diego Comic Con.
WonderCon is set to open on Friday, March 16th and run through Sunday, March 18th at the Anaheim Convention Center. If you plan on attending let us know, and maybe we can meet up and hang out for a bit!
I've put stars next to the panels we are interested in attending. Check out the schedule, and let us know what you are looking forward to seeing most!

Roma Downey is still being touched by angels.
Nine years after the end of her popular CBS series about Monica, the heavenly emissary who learned the ropes on Earth, the former "Touched by an Angel" star continues to seek inspirational projects. She's now generating some herself as founder of Lightworkers Media, which debuts the child-oriented, animated DVD series "Little Angels" Tuesday (Feb. 14) via Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
The franchise launches with three separate releases on the subjects of animals, letters and numbers. Featured on-camera in a parents' guide as part of the extra features, Downey tells Zap2it, "I've not ever produced an animated series before, so I just moved forward prayerfully to bring the best people to me. This animation style is colorful and simple, and I think the music is really great."

Cyndi Crotts is a pinup model and actress based in Florida. She’s starred in indie horror films including Bikini Monsters, Brainjacked and many more. She shares a certain pet peeve with me and lots of others and also lends some helpful advice for aspiring actresses and models. Check out my latest Versus with actress/model Cyndi Crotts.
Brian S- First off, which came first, acting or modeling?
Cyndi Crotts- Modeling actually came first for me. I remember I use to beg my parents when I was a kid to take me some where so I could model or act. I wanted them to find out people that I needed to know in order to get into the entertainment business. Finally I got the opportunity to take a modeling class and I learned all the basics from how to walk, talk, sit, runway walking, how to have good posture...
