Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a doctor putting his hand on your crotch and telling you to cough. Kafgh!!!! Hey. Supposedly, we got a big tag match for the main event. The teacher with a dynamite ass always says that you should drop your pants if you want me to raise your grade. Well, Mr. Nathan is in the room and last week’s assignment is due now. Does Impact have questions 4 through 10 finished and ready to grade? The last few projects we’ve had like this, Impact got lazy and tried to copy off of the slow kid’s paper. Vince McMahon! Stop chewing your foot! Tony! Why are you sniffing Vince’s ass? Cornette! Stop hitting everybody! Keep your hands to yourself or I’ll send you to detention with Vince Russo! That was...

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I thought of a better name for Impact…Glory Wrestling Combat. F–k you! It’s good! You’d call it Glory for short and it’d be a great way to remake Impact in the same vein as Pride, Bellator or Pancrase. You already have Bound For Glory, so the biggest show of the year now has a luster to it that it arguably didn’t have before, because it is the only show that has the name of the promotion in it. Shut up! It is so a good idea…or not. Whatever. F–k you. We have…wait…I forgot to write my Slammiversary review. Here’s the score for each match:

Welcome to this week’s column of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Mr. Rogers here with us. Mr. Rogers: Hello my television neighbor. I wanted to talk to you about violence. When people watch violence, that doesn’t make them violent. Violence is wanting to be violent and then choosing to be violent. When you watch wrestling, you are watching it because you want to watch wrestling. Watching wrestling doesn’t always have a meaning besides wanting to watch wrestling. Wrestling can be fun, but we should always remember that wrestling can hurt the people that do it, because it is violent. When wrestlers get hurt, that’s not your fault. However, you should always try to empathize with them when they are in pain. Mr. Robinson: Hello boys and girls! I’m in pain listening to this old-ass...

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the fallout from Violent By Design becoming the Tag Champions last week. It’s times like this that I’m reminded of the story of Stukanga Gaitoo. Stukanga Gaitoo was a farmer’s hand in ancient Mesopotamia, when the wind was dry and hot and cracked you across the back like a frayed whip. Stukanga loved the farmer’s daughter, but could not afford to marry her. So, when the moon rose upon the cusp of night, Stukanga returned to the farm and stole the wheat from the fields. Stukanga then sold the wheat to the rich merchant Makolinga. Makolinga bought it for half of what it was worth and made Stukanga very wealthy. Stukanga returned and lied about who had stole the wheat…and said that Makolinga had stolen the wheat.

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have…Don Callis is possibly done as Executive Vice President. Hey hey! Alright! Callis has been rumored to be a sexual predator for some time and has possibly been a predator at Impact. If Callis is in fact a good man of good stock then the possible loss of him at this level is only wanted due to the overall malaise that his run at the top of management has allowed. Impact, like All Elite Wrestling, feels like a league that just doesn’t know what it wants to be and that all falls to the people running the show. It’s funny seeing two promotions that are interesting yet faulty in a working agreement. Maybe two wrongs will make a right. I hope that Impact starts to get better. Well, let’s get right to it.

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. Ace flies over the top to hit Prince with a cutter on the floor! Ace hits a modified swinging neckbreaker for a two count. Prince avoids a top rope maneuver from Ace, allowing him to connect with a series of strikes. Prince jumps off the top and plants Ace face first into the mat. Ace counters the 450 splash into an armbar and delivers a sick paper cut! Ace hits The Fold to win.
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – This was an easy viewing, despite not having enough to view, on account of the length being so short.

Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have another good week to look at, so let’s make every day look like a Jewish holiday in La. Also, this is going to be a column that uses the last two weeks of wrestling to decide the winners of each category. I got a bit behind due to Wrestlemania week, but I should be caught up by the week’s end. Finally, all Wrestlemania weekend stuff will be in the next column, so there you go on that. Alright, let’s get to the past few weeks of wrestling.
Best Promo:
The Cracked Mirror (WWE) – Did you like the pretentious title? I couldn’t think of a good name without getting poetic/lame. Any-way, this promo was the great Daniel Bryan/Kofi Kingston contract signing that not only...

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the return of Petey Williams and Madison Rayne as a point of pride for this card. Let’s see if Impact is getting taken to the Pet Sematary or to Dairy Queen. I don’t know about you, but I don’t trust any-thing that isn’t spelled right.
Match #1: Petey Williams def. Trey, Idris Abraham, Jake Crist, Aiden Prince & Ace Austin – X-Division Scramble Match The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
In this free-for-all, the first person to score a pinfall or submission will be declared the victor! Trey hits a springboard flip dive to the outside. Petey jumps from the inside of the ring to the floor, hitting Jake with a Hurricanrana on the way down. Jake takes out Trey with a Death Valley Driver. Prince launches himself off the top rope,...

Welcome to the debut of The Last Week in Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. We’re combining the WWE Week In Review and the Nerdly Wrestling Awards into one weekly column that will perform the function of both. With Phil covering Raw, Smackdown and Impact, this will give me the chance to get all my stuff out in one sitting. I’ll give you my ratings for all of the matches before I give you my thoughts on the each league.
As for the Nerdly Wrestling Awards, that’s getting moved to just the end of the year and maybe we’ll have some goofy looking trophies to hand out then… to no one. Also, I apologize for all of my bad reviews last week… because they sucked. If you don’t remember, they were pretty much just obnoxious for the sake of being so. I liked the Wendy Williams eye joke,...

Match #1: Trevor Lee vs. Jack Evans vs. Puma King vs. Petey Williams – Four-Way Match The following is courtesy of ImpactWrestling.com:
All four of these men are looking to impress Scarlett Bordeaux after her open casting call last week! Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer on Lee but he counters! Williams locks in the Sharpshooter instead. Puma hits a big top rope crossbody on Lee. Puma jumps from inside the ring, to the top rope, to the outside, taking out Evans! Puma connects with a springboard Codebreaker on Lee for a near fall. Evans dropkicks Puma, followed by a crossbody on Lee. Evans takes Puma off the top rope with an acrobatic handspring kick.

Match #1: Eli Isom beat Shane Taylor, Flip Gordon, and Chris Sabin – Fatal Four-Way Match
My Take: 2.5 out of 5 – This was a good match that never got to go beyond the numbers. The match was built around the idea that only two wrestlers could be in the ring at a time, so there were tags. This is in line with the way many of the old X-Division matches used to work in Tna/Impact. Speaking of the X-Division, we had Chris Sabin in here, who is a former X-Division Champion, as well as a former Tna/Impact World Champion. Sabin was at his...

Have you ever met a grown man who gets drunk at the bar and starts snapping and gets really impressed by what he just did? It makes sound! Dumb-ass.
Match #1: Petey Williams beat Rich Swann
This was an excellent match that did the 50/50 booking thing, which doesn’t work. I don’t mind the idea of each man getting a victory over the other, but when they do so in matches that don’t really have much promotion behind them, it just feels trivial. It’s a shame, because the wrestling in this match was...

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I hope this is better than last week’s Impact card. Tonight is the ReDefined event and this should be the last major card before Bound For Glory. Let’s get to the action!
Match #1: Brian Cage beat Fenix – X-Division Championship Match
This was an excellent match that was a real thriller. Cage was every bit the dominant beast as always and always seems like a man possessed by pure rage. Can you tell I think Cage is a tough cookie? Chips Ahoy! Fenix is one of the most fluid wrestlers working today and has become one of the most consistent athletes in any sport, fake or real. I really enjoyed this match and it definitely started the card of on the right foot.

Match #1: Taiji Ishimori and Petey Williams beat Desi Hit Squad – Tag Team Match
This was a fun match that gave Petey Williams a nice moment in his home country of Canada. I like the Desi Hit Squad, but having them go over Williams in his native land is one of those bad ideas that only Vince McMahon would go for (I pick on Vince because he does so many dumb things… go watch Raw and find out). Williams is one of my constant picks for the most under-valued athletes in the sport and while he gets an occasional shot at glory, he...

Match #1: Taiji Ishimori beat Petey Williams – X Division Match
My Take: These two opened the card and had a good showing. Taiji made a big gamble by leaving Pro Wrestling Noah, but I imagine after all that happened with Noah and the Yakuza, a certain limit has been placed on what Noah can offer for a wrestler’s career. Taiji has also been working as the Bone Soldier for New Japan Pro Wrestling, from what I’ve read and seen. I hope he gets to keep wrestling people like Petey, who has had a rough road to returning to wrestling, more so because of how many promoters have taken his skills for granted.

Ishimori hits Fenix with a springboard Hurricanrana. Fenix and Impact both springboard off the ropes but Fenix gets the upperhand and slams him to the mat! Williams hits his signature dropkick to the back of Fenix, followed by the side Canadian leg sweep. Match #1: Killer Kross beat Petey Williams
This was a quick yet brutal match that made Kross look like a vicious sadist. Petey deserves more than just being fed to the latest flavor of the month, but at least Petey is getting on television. Kross seems to be pretty good and certainly brings a different kind of wrestling style to Impact, with more mat work and stiff chops that might be able to chop down a whole forest. Kross even did a spot where he dared Petey to attempt a Canadian Destroyer, but was able to counter the finisher and get the win.

Match #1: Fenix beat Rich Swann
My Take: This was the best match on the card. It’s probably not a great sign when the show peaks after the first bout, but these two guys can’t help but steal the show, I would imagine. Swann is so good at every-thing and Fenix is so dynamic. These two were so fluid with each other that you would wonder if Don Callis and Scott D’Amore were going to give these two a few extra opportunities to wrestle each other in the future. Swann and Fenix moved from strength to strength tonight,...

Chuck Taylor, who was billed as Chuckie T despite being referred to as the former name by the announcers, was looking to make another deep mark into Ring of Honor by fighting the former Roh TV Champion Kenny King, who has been in need of another shot in the arm over the past few months, after losing said title. Abyss is one of Tna’s biggest, and longest-tenured stars; in fact, he and James Storm are the only wrestlers still on the roster that appeared on their very first show back in 2002. It’s been a long, bumpy road since then, and most of the company’s early stars like Aj Styles, Ron Killings, Alex Shelley, Petey Williams and even Jeff Jarrett have left for greener pastures, but the Monster appears to be in for the long haul.
He’s a real foundational figure, and his presence has been a constant, even as regime and roster changes have rocked the promotion. His loyalty is pretty puzzling, given some of the startlingly bad angles and matches Tna has stuck him in over the years.
He’s been both jilted lover and psychotic stalker, both innocent victim and malevolent beast. He’s been through more contrived family drama than...

After last week’s Full Metal Mayhem, I was interested to see the second dose of Impact from Corpus Christi. There was a lot more action and a lot less Hogan. Although, the hand we were dealt with the Aces and Eights might not have been the strongest no matter how many beat downs they do. But I’ll explain soon enough.
Impact Wrestling began with a video package detailing the events of last week and that Jeff Hardy would not be appearing on this weeks episode. Then we go backstage and see the Sergeant in arms for Aces and Eights Devon talking to be younger, Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco that they need to take their match with Kurt Angle very seriously because he’s dangerous.
Wes and Garrett make their way to the ring but before we see Angle they give us a video package detailing the whole...

Last week, I made a point of saying that building to Corpus Christi, Texas next week which shortchange the audience in Jonesboro and that you had to make every impact of special. Well, this week I feel like they accomplished that more was great action, storyline building and good episode structure.
From the beginning with the opening segment as the Aces and Eights have three gifts, Mr. Anderson with a cut for Aj Styles (Everyone called it a cut in the episode and not a leather vest… I guess everyone watched their Sons of Anarchy DVD set again). A mystery envelope that Devon has saying it was.for the President of the club and his lovely bride who will have a confrontation later tonight and the Vice President D’ lo Brown has his termination letter from Tna Corporate.
The Vice President says he wants some answers and he knows somebody...

In the home of Arkansas State University, Tna came into town and delivered a show that was odd to say the least. The matches and angles themselves were a little off but what puzzled me more was the fact that they basically came out and told you at the beginning of the show the next two weeks don’t matter as they set up to big title matches for the next April 11 in Corpus Christi, Texas. When you go ahead and say a title match is coming in two weeks the audience already checks out of what you’re saying because you’re basically telling them to tune out because the next few weeks really does not matter.
Now, I know with the new pay-per-view schedule that this was going to happen, but I didn’t think they would be so blatant in like a throwaway episode of Impact in the process.
