Edm conglomerate SFX Entertainment has found itself the subject of ongoing scrutiny in light of its recent bankruptcy filing, and in the days that have passed, numerous details of the company’s unsavory business practices have come to light. Most recently, after its bankruptcy filing, a list of SFX’s outstanding debts has reached the public.
Digital Music News obtained the list, and narrowed it down to only the 40 largest amounts – all of which still come out to just shy of half a billion dollars. Among the more noteworthy individuals named is promoter Paolo Moreno, whom was just awarded an $11 million settlement after suing SFX Entertainment CEO Robert F.X. Sillerman for stealing the ideas which led to the company’s formation.
Many of the companies listed share direct ties to SFX – which would suggest a common interest in the company’s recovery. CrowdRX, for instance, was founded by SFX board...

For half a century, the FBI director waged war on homosexuals, black people and communists. Now, a controversial film by Clint Eastwood is set to reveal some of the explosive truth about him. Here, his biographer Anthony Summers tells all
J Edgar Hoover was a phenomenon. The first Director of the FBI, he remained in office for 48 years, from his appointment after the First World War to his death in 1972, achieving fame and extraordinary power. For public consumption when he died, President Richard Nixon eulogised him as: "One of the giants… a national symbol of courage, patriotism and granite-like honesty and integrity." He ordered flags to fly at half-mast and that Hoover's body lie in state in the Capitol.
In private, on hearing that he had died, Nixon had responded merely: "Jesus Christ! That old cocksucker!" Months earlier, closeted with key advisers, he had held forth on the need to...

Bing Crosby's widow is recovering from major injuries suffered in a deadly traffic crash in the Sierra Nevada. Kathryn Crosby, 77, was hurt and her husband, Maurice William Sullivan, 85, was killed in the Nov. 4 single-vehicle wreck east of Placerville, California, state Highway Patrol spokesman Dan Stark said Thursday. The former actress, a California resident, was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno and has since been discharged. Sullivan was westbound when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a large boulder and rolled many times, ejecting him, Start said. The cause of the crash has not been determined, and an investigation continues. "We may do some follow-up with her (Kathryn Crosby) to determine the events that led up to the accident," Stark said, adding he had no details on her injuries or update on her condition. Kathryn Crosby's family did not return phone calls seeking comment. She and the crooner,...

Although Wesley Snipes undoubtedly has his hands full, given his alleged problems with the IRS over unpaid taxes, he is nonetheless trying to press on with a pet project about FBI-head J. Edgar Hoover’s attempts to discredit Martin Luther King Jr.
Snipes intends to produce the Justin Stamm penned script and is hoping to find a role for himself in the piece as well.
Deadline say that he recently sat down with King’s son, Martin Luther King III and received the family’s blessing to pursue the project, which tells of William Sullivan, then assistant director of the FBI and his analysis of the perceived threat posed by King and the appropriate manner to address that threat. He apparently wrote to Hoover:-
“We must mark [King] now, if we have not done so before, as the most dangerous Negro of the future in this nation. It may be unrealistic...

Out of all of the villains he has faced in his illustrious film career, the toughest enemy Wesley Snipes has yet faced turns out to be the federal government. He’s been fighting with the IRS for years, and was recently sentenced to three years in prison (all of a sudden I have a great idea for a screenplay). But Wesley Snipes is a trooper, even facing hard time, he’s still planning to make movies. And Clint Eastwood be damned, Snipes told Deadline the he, too, wants to make a J. Edgar Hoover movie. Snipes wants to produce Justin Stamm’s script “Code Name Zorro”, which deals with Hoover’s attempts to discredit Martin Luther King Jr. Snipes even sat down with Martin Luther King III to get approval. “Code Name Zorro” takes an interesting approach into the life of Mlk. It’s focus is the final moments in...

Wesley Snipes is getting involved in the 1960's-set true story thriller biopic "Code Name Zorro" reports Deadline.
The film centers on the final moments in the life of William Sullivan, the man who headed up the Zorro project - a super-covert program initiated by J. Edgar Hoover to destroy Martin Luther King's credibility. From wiretapping to fraud, the group set up numerous illegal schemes and Sullivan intended to air all of the dirty laundry about the project to a journalist. Sullivan was killed in a "hunting accident" shortly thereafter.
Justin Stamm penned the script and Snipes has received endorsement from Martin Luther King Jr.'s son, Martin Luther King III. Snipes will produce, be involved in selecting cast and director, and will likely play a role though which one is presently undetermined.

And we now have yet another Martin Luther King Jr project on the way. There’s Lee Daniels’ Selma, the Oprah Winfrey/HBO 7-hour miniseries, and Steven Spielberg’s Mlk film being done with his estate.
Now, Wesley Snipes is reportedly producing (and will co-star) in a feature film titled Code Name Zorro, that will explore J. Edgar Hoover’s campaign to discredit Martin Luther King Jr., and the fallout that followed.
Snipes, currently caught in a kerfuffle with the IRS, told Deadline that the King family has given him their blessing to pursue the project, that “asks hard questions about how King was persecuted by Hoover’s FBI because the leader viewed the civil rights leader as a threat and a potential impediment to the Vietnam War.”
At the center of the story will be former assistant FBI director William Sullivan, who headed Code Name Zorro – Hoover’s underground...
