Sage Salzer
- Costume and Wardrobe Department
Sage Salzer is a top plus-size model who has appeared in top-tier print
and magazine publications such as Glamour, In Style, Oprah, People, and
Real Simple.
Sage has been featured in widely circulated TV commercials with their accompanying print campaigns for Curvation, Fruit of the Loom, Lane Bryant, Levi-Strauss, TJ Maxx, and Slim Fast. She has been featured in fashion segments on Entertainment Tonight, Today Show, and Rachel Ray. In-store posters can be seen regularly at Catherine's, Fashion Bug, Kohl's, Target, and Walmart.
A native of Ventura County, California, Sage started modeling at the age of fourteen when she won a modeling contest on Good Morning Los Angeles as a size 4 model, which included a trip to Paris and a seven year contract with a top modeling agency. During that year, she spent a summer modeling in Tokyo, Japan, and landed several spreads, including a cover, in Seventeen. Unable to maintain the extreme dieting that had made the straight-size modeling possible, Sage gave up modeling to focus on her studies. At Sarah Lawrence College she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and subsequently studied at the esteemed Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater in New York City.
After school, Sage moved back to California. She began modeling again when Wilhelmina Los Angeles started their plus-size division. Modeling has taken her around the world to destinations such as Africa, England, Germany, Mexico, and Sweden. Some of her favorite photographers to have worked with are Alexei Hay, Amy Neunsinger, Mark Andrews, Mathew Rolston, Mike Ruiz, Peggy Sirota, and Walter Chin.
Sage is a proud advocate of healthy lifestyle choices for women and has been proactive in helping plus-size models break into mainstream print and broadcast media. Currently, she serves on the national board of advisors for 'Healthy Girls, Hardy Women' which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the health and well being of girls and women.
