Prime Video will be the home of 21 Yankees games this season, 19 of which will occur on Wednesday nights.
It is getting increasingly difficult for sports fans to watch all of their favorite team’s games in one convenient, centralized streaming location. Between regional sports networks (RSNs) and streaming exclusives, it is nearly impossible to keep up with where your team is playing without a scorecard. That is doubly true when you follow one of the most popular franchises in all of sports, because then you have to factor in network and cable national broadcasts as well. Fans of the New York Yankees are used to this, and on Friday, they got the details on which Bronx Bombers’ games would be streaming exclusively on Prime Video.
Key Points: For the third-straight year Yankees games will stream on Prime Video. There will be 21 Nyy on Amazon’s streamer this season for fans...

"He was the most overlooked superstar in the history of baseball." "He's just a gentle, kind soul..." Sony Pictures Classics has revealed an official trailer for It Ain't Over, a documentary about the baseball legend Yogi Berra. After initially premiering at the 2022 Nantucket Film Festival last year, it stopped by the Santa Barbara Film Festival earlier this year and will open in May in limited theaters. The documentary film gives "Yogi" Berra his due recapping the illustrious life of a "bad-ball hitting" catcher (for the Yankees), who was also a D-Day veteran, loving husband and father and, yes, product endorser and originator (mostly) of his own brand of proverbs that are now ingrained into everyday life. This features interviews with Billy Crystal, Bob Costas, Vin Scully, Derek Jeter, Joe Torre, Mariano Rivera, Joe Girardi, Ron Guidry, Willie Randolph, Don Mattingly, Tony Kubek, Bobby Richardson, Suzyn Waldman, and Lindsay Berra. It looks good,...

For years, it was one of baseball’s most reliable traditions: Yankee closer Mariano Rivera trotting out from the bullpen to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” It was fitting theme music for a guy who, as the saying goes, put bats to sleep. During Rivera’s final season, in 2013, Metallica even showed up at Yankee Stadium to perform the 1991 hit as the pitcher’s number was retired.
On Tuesday, Rivera became the first player ever unanimously elected to baseball’s Hall of Fame, and Metallica sent along a heartfelt message of congratulations.

Alex Rodriguez is currently serving a 162-game suspension from Major League Baseball for violating drug policy, but even though he’s 39 years old, he has every intention of making his way back to Yankee Stadium in 2015, if only to collect his more than $20 million per season salary. But though he’s won two Most Valuable Players as a Yankee and helped them win the 2009 World Series, Rodriguez’s infamy will likely prevent him from ever being considered an all-time Yankee.

Lady Gaga is famous for creating a spectacle every time she's out in public, and the June 18 Yankees-Mets game she attended at Yankee Stadium was no exception to the rule.
After the Yankees' loss, Gaga talked her way past security and into the clubhouse, according to Espn. Yankees General manager Brian Cashman says that reports that Gaga has been permanently banned from the clubhouse are not true.
"She's not banned," Cashman clarifies. "Celebrities aren't banned. If Michael Jordan showed up here he would have access, but not after a loss."
In the clubhouse, Gaga wore only lingerie and a half-buttoned Yankees jersey, tossed back whiskey, and fondled her own chest. Because of her presence in the clubhouse, the media - which traditionally gets clubhouse access 10 minutes after the final pitch - was refused entry.

New York native Lady Gaga loves the Yankees. And on Friday night after the game between the Yankees and the Mets at Yankees Stadium, she waltzed right into their clubhouse to tell them how much she loved them. But apparently, the team wasn't thrilled with her antics, particularly since they'd just lost the game.
Gaga arrived at the game in nothing more than a bra, bikini bottom and a pin-striped Yankees jersey, according to the New York Post, and reportedly talked her way into the clubhouse, where she even met with several of the players. Sources told the paper she was also drinking whiskey and grabbing her chest during her visit.
"That was the wrong time and the wrong place," New York Yankees Gm Brian Cashman told Espn about the incident.

On Sunday, June 20, the team's general manager Brian Cashman has clarified circulating story that the "Bad Romance" hitmaker has been banned from entering the place after reportedly infuriating co-chairman Hal Steinbrenner during a visit to the house that Ruth built on Friday night, June 18.
On Sunday afternoon, June 20, Cashman set the record straight. "She's not banned," he stated, before explaining, "Celebrities aren't banned. If Michael Jordan showed up here he would have access [to the clubhouse], but not after a loss." He further noted that it was only a matter of wrong time and place. "That was the wrong time and the wrong place... It is not her fault," he noted.
Cashman further added that no one was fired over the security breach. Moreover, Yankees' manager Joe Girardi has stated that he doesn't believe celebrities cause...

here are two ways the makers of male-oriented personal care and beauty products market their goods to consumers. First, there's the Axe Effect. It's the highly persuasive method of playing on average everyday man's insecurities about unbelievably attractive women, advertising unrealistic beauty ideals, copious amounts of skin and sex appeal, and the importance of getting a lot of action. Second, there's the Platonic Ideal of the American Male. He's a stand-up, down-to-earth, man with a rags to riches story, a work ethic the size of Paul Bunyan, a devotion to family with which the religious could find no fault, and happens to care a lot about skincare. Dove, a beauty brand that ostensibly fights against superficial stereotypes and campaigns for real beauty, does not employ the Axe Effect. In it's online ad campaign for the new Men+Care product line, Dove hopes to increase its market share among American males...

If you opted out of buying the 2009 World Series collection and you’re a Yankees fan, you might find this a more palatable and sensible use of your time. It’s not the 20 hour megalith the other is, it only asks for an hour of your time and features a rather brisk run through the Yankees’ 2009 season starting with their departure from their old stadium and the spring training in the new structure they’ll be calling home until New York decides it needs to spend more money on their most reliable sports team. The feature has everything you’d expect from a sappy season retrospective: cheesily written narration, talking heads saying great things about the team and its legacy, and a series of really laughable segues from one piece of archive footage to the next.

Last night in the Bronx, the New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 7-3, successfully closing out the 2009 World Series and clinching the team's 27th championship, the most of any professional sports team in history. Last night's game belonged to veteran Yankee ace Andy Pettitte (who pitched solidly on short rest) and to World Series Mvp Hideki Matsui, who tied a Series record with six Rbi. The victory is not nearly as poetic as some are making it out to be (after all, the Yanks last won a Series in 2000 — hardly the drought that the Boston Red Sox experienced), but it's an especially redemptive win for team manager Joe Girardi (who has been second-guessed for most of his tenure) and for slugger Alex Rodriguez, whose monster salary has long been in question because of his inability to win a championship. But all that has been washed...

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez took leave from his fellow Bronx Bombers this week for a very good reason: A-Rod became a father to another B-aby. Rodriguez, 32, was with his wife Cynthia, 34, as she gave birth to the couple's second daughter, born Monday night in Miami, his team announced. The baby, whose name has not been revealed, weighed 7 lbs., 2 oz., at birth, according to the Major League Baseball Web site. "We are thrilled with the birth of our second daughter and the blessing of having two beautiful, healthy children in our lives," the happy father said in a statement.
