At age 60, she performed the splits to a round of applause from the cast and crew, when she appeared in the Turner Classic Movies filmed re-creation of the dance scene from Fame (1980).
Attended the Hollywood Professional School (for children working in show business) and later took acting classes with Tony Barr at his Desilu Studios Workshop.
Colburn was the niece of both producer Sol M. Wurtzel and of Mel Berns (head of makeup at RKO, who was makeup artist to such stars as Marilyn Monroe, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Cary Grant, Robert Mitchum, Orson Welles, and Jane Russell).
Cousin of Mel Berns Jr., makeup artist for Charlie's Angels, The Partridge Family, The Flying Nun, Wayne's World, etc.
As a young teenager, she appeared as a model for McCalls Magazine, Mademoiselle Magazine, and Glamour Magazine.
Has pale aquamarine eyes with an extra row of eyelashes above and below.
