- Leo Nomellini was born on June 19, 1924 in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. He died on October 17, 2000 in Stanford, California, USA.
- Defensive tackle with the San Francisco 49ers, 1950-1963.
- Played in every 49ers game for 14 seasons, 174 regular-season and 266 pro games in all, including 10 Pro Bowls.
- Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1969.
