Nora Kovach was born on June 13, 1931 in Budapest, Hungary. She was married to Steve Farago, Istan Rabovsky and Tibor Szegezdy. She died on January 18, 2009 in Miami, Florida, USA.
She studied classical dance and ballet at the Budapest Opera Ballet School and in St. Petersburg, Russia (formerly Leningard, Soviet Union) at the Kirov School.
She is survived by her first husband and dance partner, Istvan Rabovsky; her current husband, Steve Farago; her brother Bela Kovach of Budapest, Hungary; and two stepchildren-Andrew Farago and Babette Savallo.
Hungarian ballerina who defected to the West from the Soviet block with her partner and then-husband Istvan Rabovsky in 1953. They also were rescued from the Italian ocean liner Andrea Doria after it collided with another ship in 1954.
