In the world of media speculation and celebrity gossip, it’s not uncommon to hear stories going around about famous faces participating in acts of rebellion or protest. Remember how rumors spread that Irish actor Cillian Murphy had joined in a silent protest against the British monarchy during a meeting with Prince Harry?
Well, a number of media outlets subsequently found out that the viral clip had been doctored, and that the conversation in question did not occur during the actor’s time with the Duke of Sussex.

That reminds us of Irish rugby legend Ronan O’Gara, who appeared with his hands in his pockets when he met Queen Elizabeth II in 2009. However, he later cleared the air and refuted the story, stating that he has no “strong feelings” about the monarchy but would like to believe that “my parents” raised him well.

Documentary examines rise in injuries in rugby union and other sports that can cause brain damage in later life
Barry O'Driscoll, the former medical adviser to the International Rugby Board, is under no illusion about the defining moment of Ireland's 13-13 draw with France in March last year. The decision to allow his nephew, the multi-capped centre Brian O'Driscoll, to return to the pitch after suffering concussion was an outrage, he said.
"If that had been allowed in the United States, during an American football match, then the officials involved would have been sacked," he said.
O'Driscoll – who resigned from the Irb's medical advisory board in 2012 in protest at its handling of the issues of concussion and brain injury – was speaking in the documentary, Head Games: The Global Concussion Crisis, which premiered in London last week. The American-made film focuses on what it describes as "a silent, global...

Irish actor Colin Farrell - currently filming "London Boulevard" with Anna Friel - is the top choice for fantasy father in Ireland. A whopping 23 percent of Irish women said they would like hard-partying Farrell to be the father of their child. The studly actor came in ahead of Ireland's rugby star Rob Kearney and TV presenter Craig Doyle who came joint second, while Irish American comedian Des Bishop and rugby player Ronan O'Gara were tied third at 8 percent. Oddly, Irish hottie rugby star Brian O'Driscoll sputtered across the line with just 6 percent of votes tallied. The women didn't spell out why they wanted Farrell to be the fantasy father but I can only guess why! However, his popularity might take a nose dive when the new movie "Liars (A-e)" hits the silver screen later this year. "Liars" was penned by Farrell's former flame Emma Forrest and is based on their relationship and subsequent break-up.
